It is fun to remember old times and how things once were. Sometimes I do miss the "good ole days'.
DH and I were just talking about this - I think what I remember most is that life was simpler, people were honest and trustworthy, kids were allowed to be kids and went outdoors to play because they didn't have internet, social media, cell phones iPads, etc. For this reason, I thought of creative ways to engage my own children when they were young. Oh well, the good 'ole days. :rbheart:

Yes, life probably was much simpler in the good old days. I remember being a kid outside playing with other kids and coming in at dinner time. Summers were fantastic, filled with a lot of activities. You don't see kids outside as much as the past generations. The world has definitely changed a lot over the years. I sure miss those good ole days.

Have a great weekend Jcatbird Jcatbird and everyone here. I thought I posted these videos so everyone could reminisce over "the good old days.":redheartpump:

Just remember the good times. We will never see the likes of the 50's,60's,70's and 80's again, nor any other decade in the past. Yes, maybe there will be Retiro fashion or some music of the past tweaked for our current time, but it will only be a small reminder of how things used in the past. I admit there were things that were not so great back them, but there were other things that were. Those are the things that bring a smile to my face.

Well, I got to run. Time to feed the kitties. It's a windy night. Wish me luck. Take care.. 🙂

Magic! I reappeared! Signals here are being affected by major new construction! No WiFi, difficulty getting cell signals, no landline much of the time and no Cable TV. Lol Off grid living but on the grid! My poor Landline tech is battling to keep us connected by keeping a generator fueled up every two days.:jawdrop: That poor fellow. I am told that once all is completed, this area will have the latest and greatest of connections. Hopefully the work goes well and rapidly. I am searching for alternate solutions to get us through. Ummmmm, back to that post about cup phones strung together with string! Lol Telegraph? Morse code? Smoke signals? (Older than dirt, I got them all! Lol) CB radios? Good vibrations? Purr power!:yess: If you all feel the tickle, it’s coming from Chez Catbird!
I don’t know if everyone could see the end of that video but the cat appeared off to the right. Hidden in plain sight. Cats do that so well!
While we are having down time, we are learning some new tricks. Banjo is researching books on the subject and when we get a signal, she is ready to search the internet too. Old fashioned radio music is being enjoyed by all here.
Before we lose signal again, this brought some smiles here. Some cats are confused by magic tricks.I check in often and link up as I can. We’ll be here more when I can find a solution. We may have only minutes at a time right now but we are trying to keep up with everyone. So very happy to hear the latest updates on kitties and humans. :grouphug2: Stay well and safe everyone!
Let’s see if I can get a couple of photos loaded from the garden. They aren’t purrfect but the “Gulf Fritillary” ( Passion butterfly) is a sort of copy cat of the Monarch. The coloring of a Monarch warns birds it is not a tasty treat. That means that , since the Fritillary mimics the colors, it is less likely to be eaten even though it can be a tasty treat for birds.

That butterfly was a caterpillar once?

Now it is a flying caterpillar?

It lived inside a cocoon?

Can you make a cocoon for me? I need one!

The music in those retro videos! So naive. I wonder did anyone believe those things???
So good to see you, Banjo and Jcatbird Jcatbird ! Frits were favorite butterflies when I was small and a butterfly freak. Not sure which orange butterflies our beloved angel Nikki T used to eat (to make his color more intense, I used to say, as he was a yellow cat with a white undercoat) but I put a stop to that as soon as I could by bringing him in.
So are your IT providers going to reimburse you or discount you or something, for the poor/nonexistent service while all of this is going on? :yelling::crash:

Jcatbird Jcatbird : glad you were able to post. You've been missed. :redheartpump:

If anyone is wondering Hurricane Fiona did continue tracking towards my area, and passed over us last night. Lots of wind and rain, and my power went out around midnight. Amazingly it's back on already, so very happy that despite her strength and size, there was no significant damage in my neighbourhood. Hope it was the same for anyone else who was in Fiona's track.

Very glad to hear you're okay. I have other friends in Eastern Canada and hope they are okay.
