(im genuinely sorry for asking so much, its my first time as a cat mom ops)

My kitty (one of them, the other one absolutely hates attention and has her ways to show affection) is very affectionate during the night and shows almost all signs of loving me which makes my heart melt.

During the day she seems to ignore me when it comes to that, she might follow me or sleep close to me but that's pretty much all. We play and i train her a bit during the day and stuff but im curious about why is that behavior change?? She prioritizates being with her sister during the day...

Some ppl told me it could be because i am too loud during the day but I am, indeed, a very quiet person when it comes to loud noises as i hate them as well. I live with my parents and they're more noisy, they don't seem to care if the cats are asleep but I do.

It's true that she usually follows me around when they're not home but... I'm unsure^^" but shes definitely a sweetheart

It could be any number of things. Try and enjoy each cat as it grows and changes, because how one of them is today could be very different a few weeks from now :)

I don't know if anyone posted this for you;

Also, and again I apologize if this is repeated information, but feed them approximately 4 times a day of wet food, as much as they want to eat, with some kibble out for snacks as well. Also use different brands and varieties so that they get used to different foods.

Tysm for the page!!
I feed them 5 times a day, they're 3 months old rn. I do 4 of dry food and 1 of wet food because they came with serious stomach problems and the vet told us to mainly give wet food! And ya they get a good amount of treats a day, after playing, after training and whenever they do something good! We cant really change the food brands a lot because their stomachs are pretty weak after having a virus and worms at the same time, then catching a cold :') I genuinely mean that she just wants to be on the same room as me and stuff, when she wants food she sits next to the food bowl^^

Did you mean four meals of wet food? That would be better if you're able to do that, rather than 4 of dry food. Changing the brands is just an idea, for the future maybe when they've gotten more stable :heartshape:

Opps i got distracted, i meant he told us to give mainly dry** food ^^" my kittens go crazy for wet food but the vet doesn't recommend it a lot as they can lose interest in dry food which is very important for their stomach's after all they gone through!

It's ok to disagree with your vet regarding nutrition.

Since they like wet food so much, how about 2-3 meals of wet and 2 meals of dry. Kibble has an incredible amount of just carbohydrates and not a lot of other things of nutritional value, especially for growing babies.

He told us an special dry food(bought at the vet and its high quality food, clarifying that), its about 50% protein and it has other stuff that protects their stomachs but u usually give a larger amount of wet food than dry food ^^" i do 5-7g of dry food per serving and i do two scoops (kid spoons) of wet food... However i could try that after they're feeling better because one of them still has litter box problems [this one is indeed for a cat jelly we bought, we stopped giving it as soon as we noticed she got poop issues]

Dry food has protein that’s been cooked at high temperatures until it’s been reduced to an unpalatable powder. Then it’s mixed with carbs so it can be formed into kibble. Carbs do nothing for cat except make them fat and increase the chances of future medical issues.

You gotta do what you gotta do so your kittens can keep their food down, but do some research about dry food, wet food and raw. There are links on the forums that will lead you to research done by cat nutritionists.

Your cat is splitting time between you and her sister because that’s the routine she’s fallen into in the household. Total cat mojo.

You’re doing a great job and the cats love you for it.

Cats aren’t dogs! You really have to earn their everything, esp. when it’s all new. Sometimes just sitting down at their level and talking to them from a slight distance works over time. They are sussing out what kind of human you are and how to train you. It might not seem as if they’re listening to you talk to them, but it’s my opinion kitties adore being fussed over with silly conversation. I think the both of you will feel that magic moment when you’re locked in and bonded.

…agree w others about the wet food. Have you thought of getting a second opinion?

Never apologize for asking questions! I ask them all the time and nobody here minds!

Cats get into strange sleep/activity rythms that dont necessarily match up with ours. Mine are excited to get out of the furnished basement where they sleep and eat, and will seek affection and attention for about an hour thereafter. Then they pretty much sleep all day. When the family gathers to relax and talk before & after dinner, that is the signal to get up and get on laps, seek attention and whatnot.

I think its partly that they need a lot of sleep, partly that they react to subtle factors that we may not notice and partly that once they get going with a schedule it becomes a habit.

An example of of a subtle thing that may have influenced my cats -- now that I'm retired I often don't get dressed first thing in the morning, and boxers dont work with lap cats, so lap time is right out. Conversely, when the family sits in the living room, we are all dressed obviously, and the reclyners make it easier to host a lap cat. So I think that was probably one of several factors that led to their "schedule" developing. If you want to be a cat detective, you might be able to find factors that led to your cat's schedule -- but then again, cats are cats, and there is always a danger we are reading too much into stuff.

My kitty...is very affectionate during the night and shows almost all signs of loving me which makes my heart melt.

During the day she seems to ignore me when it comes to that, she might follow me or sleep close to me but that's pretty much all.
That means she thinks you're cool.

A cat is most vulnerable when it sleeps and will, generally, pick places to sleep where it feels safe. If she's sleeping with you, that means your cat thinks of you as her protector.

On the other hand, cats like to just go about their business when they are awake but they are always on the lookout for things that could mean trouble. If she's just going about things during the day, not looking over her shoulder, so to speak, that means she doesn't think of you as a threat.

If you ever walk into a room and your cat goes "all eyes" on you, that means she's trying to decide whether you are going to do something threatening to her. If she ignores you, that means she's cool with you.

In cat lingo, "ignoring" is a big complement! :D

My cat loves to be on me or near me, all through out the day. When it is cold though he wants to sleep under the blankets next to me. On cold days when he is in his harness he stays on my lap until I put a sweater or snow cloak on him..... then he acts normal once he gets his jacket/cloak on. He thinks 55F is freezing! 🤣

This just seems like normal cat to me. One minute they are in your lap gazing up at you with that "You are my everything" look and later they've never seen you before and don't care to ever see you again. They have their moods!

Suggest you might want to do a little more investigation on the food situation. Wet is definitely better than dry. A lot of vets don't really know that much about nutrition and only go by the manufacturers tell them. Losing interest in dry food is not a bad thing IMO.

As for their behavior, all cats are different and some of it just goes into how you are with them, but not all of it. I have one cat who is a lap cat and one who isn't, but they're both very friendly, sweet, loving, etc. You basically just need to love them for who they are and they'll love you back.
