So recently, both of my cats have been obsessed with this one toy that's actually an attachment to a wand we bought a while ago. It's made of some weird fuzzy/spikey material that has fluff/feathers on the end and I believe it's actually made of "deer hair". They've become obsessed with it to the point that when we play with it on the end of the wand and they catch it, they refuse to drop it and take it away and start chewing on it. There's pieces of this material all over our floors right now.

I tried looking up some toys on Amazon made of deer hair but they seem overpriced for the size and apparent lack of durability, and I'm also not so sure I want to be buying real animal hair things (I don't really know how ethical this is). What's a good material that's similar to deer hair, or a place I can buy affordable toys made of deer hair?

We bought some deer hair toys from the Cool Cyber Cats Etsy store, they're handmade on a ranch in Montana. They're not cheap but they are incredibly durable and our cats LOVE them. We bought deer and buffalo, among others. We've had them for a year and they still look pretty much the same (a little buffalo hair came out, but that's ok).

Thank you for sharing! I wouldn't mind paying more if they're durable, I was just hesitant as the one we have is already falling apart and the reviews on the ones I saw on Amazon were saying they were overpriced for how quickly they fell apart. I'll keep an eye on these and hopefully get some soon, thank you!

They might also like loofah toys. Chewy calls them “small pet” toys but Willow loves them, especially any that are small and flat.
