I won't play it very often, just every few months when it gets up to the hundred million greenbacks. I'm too cheap to play it very often. I hate the fact that it's $2 now instead of $1. And that 50 cent convenience fee bothers me too.
That's how my parents play. When my stepbrother worked at a casino during college he had a lot of stories and said it was easy to tell who didn't have control over themselves. Little old ladies were some of the worst he said. Pretty sad because they were probably on fixed incomes too. One casino my grandparents used to love would give seniors $10 free once a week. They'd go by bus and enjoy the restaurants and shops and their $10. Grandpa said he made $20 once.

No new car for me today. :ohwell: MSRP was $27,585 but the dealership thought I'd be willing to pay $41,000 for it. Uh... nope. They came back with a $38,000 offer. Uh...nope. With that I just said "thank you for your time" and walked out.

I think the salesperson was truly shocked. Guess they thought because I was a woman and my husband wasn't with me that I was too stupid to see a scam happening.

Husband and I talked and will probably just stick a new engine in my car. Cost would be about $4000 for the engine and installation. We can pay cash for it and no debt will be incurred like having to finance a car.

We started working from home in March 2020. The girls and I have always had a really tight bond but since I've been home pretty much always it's gotten stronger. It's gotten to the point where Sophie starts to panic if she thinks I'm leaving the house. Even just for groceries. We recently found out that our work from home status is now permanent. We had 2 offices in the area that we used and the larger of the 2 has been closed permanently. The smaller office is just for IT staff. She loves having me around all the time but still gets upset if she thinks I'm going somewhere. Every time I go to the grocery store she waits in the kitchen window until I get back. When I pull into the driveway she runs to greet me at the door. Cats are the best. :cloud9: :heartshape:

The new nightgown came in, and I am happy to report it matches my favorite fuzzy socks PURRFECTLY! I am STYLIN', considering my age and degree of decripitude!
I think we need a picture! ;):camera:

I don't remember the exact day I awoke to the joy of extra comfy pajamas...but it was sometime after my kids were born and sleep had become a favorite pastime. :cloud9:  I'm more likely to buy myself pajamas now than regular clothes.

I did buy myself a giant flannel shirt from the men's clearance section at Kohls a few weeks ago. I was waiting for DH to try on shorts and I spotted it. It fits me like a long jacket. You can almost put 2 of me in it. 1 1/2 at least and it comes almost to my knees. I think I spent under $6 on it. Now I just need to wait for fall & winter so I can wear it! I might see if my bestie can help me permanently shorten the sleeves; but it is SO soft and cozy. DH shook his head when he saw me in it.:biggrin:

Oh, man, you don't know what you are asking! I have a real horror of having my picture taken. However, here is the pertinent bit of the nightgown and my feeties, happy in their fuzzy socks!

It's a bit darker than the socks, but I can live with that! AND so soft and comfy!

They look super comfy!! My mom got me hooked on these Cabin Socks that Dicks Sports has out every Christmas. The outside is wool but the inside is so soft and fuzzy. They feel amazing! The only downside is the shedding inside at first. My first pair were purple inside and sort of a magenta inside...The first time I took them off I looked like a Muppet between my toes!!

I forgot to refrigerate my Ginger Preserves. For some crazy reason I put it in the cupboard with the peanut and almond butters. I just ate it. Will I get sick?! It's been in there at least a couple weeks, maybe a month. 😲

Had a New Electrolux Washing Machine delivered on the 6th. Already having Issues. Yesterday the spin cycle wasn't spinning fast enough, plus the timer isn't working right. Called in for a service appointment yesterday. Haven't heard a Word yet today. Quite disappointing . In hindsight perhaps should have kept that 45 yr. old Maytag.

I think I feel better today... no, not Covid..no Covid symptoms.. no fever.. just a severe physical exhaustion. Monday, I slept all day long.. I mean all day long; in bed and on recliner. Did not shower until 2pm.. All I did was sleep/nap... even on the recliner..

Yesterday was bocce. It was incredibly hot, with a bit of a breeze, no clouds in sky.. I was wiped out. I really pushed myself to stay till the end. It was too much for me.. I downed a thermos bottle of SmartWater, and an iced coffee, but still felt so horrible.
After the games, I went inside, just plopping on a chair.. I never sit in the lobby. One of the workers came by, asked if I was ok.. and wanted to know if he could do anything for me.. I guess I looked that bad..
came upstairs, napped, then showered and did not leave apartment the rest of the day..

I was watching the hearings, dozing off several times..
I did the same thing, during the evening.. I slept fitfully...

I feel better today.. a bit more like myself... wow..
Still taking it easy, today..

Hobbit's speech therapy start date was changed. They actually moved it up! He goes on the 21st.

My husband is likely changing jobs soon. He has been with the same job for 10 years or so and wanted a change. This new one will pay less, but it has better benefits and a consistent schedule. It also has opportunities for advancement. Based on the average rate of raises (his friend works there), he should be making his normal rate in three years. It is stressful to think about; however, in the long run, it will be better for him. My issue is that his schedule now works better for us because he works second shift and, even with my wonky sleep schedule, it worked for us. Now, he will be going to bed no later than 10 and will be at work from 8 am until 5:30 pm, including the drive. (He works two minutes from our house now. It will be 30.) He will have weekends off. That sounds great until you factor in my schedule with Hobbit and that I am awake until 4 am usually. When he is home and awake during the week, it will be when I am the busiest with Hobbit. I am likely just getting stressed when I do not need to and we will get to see each other, but it feels like I will have long, lonely nights ahead of me. My PTSD does not permit me to alter my sleep schedule. It took me years to get to the point that I could go to sleep before sunrise.

On a still stressful but kind of good note: A couple of my friends are renting a cabin for their shared birthday. They deliberately rented one within a short driving distance from me so that I might be okay enough to spend a couple of hours with them on one of the days. My psychologist recently prescribed low dose emergency Xanax to go with my regular prescription. If I go, which I really am hoping I can manage it, I will take the Xanax with me in case of an emergency. That might be very helpful.I have not seen either of them in at least 12 years for various reason, so I am excited and hopeful that this works. They said there is no pressure and if I cannot make it or need to leave early or need someone to drive me home because I have a panic attack that it is all okay. They picked days during the week because it was kind of last minute and it was all they could find that suited them. Wish me luck! I will be either going the evening on the 26th or the 27th.

The sad saga of the poor functioning brand new Electrolux Washing Machine Continues. The machine won't spin clothes dry. Once the cycle is over the clothes are still soaked. Paid a instore visit to the appliance business where The washer was purchased . Got a bit of a run Around IMO. Supposedly they are short Of repairmen so we have to wait till next Monday. What a disappointment this $1199.00 washer is. I hope there's better news next week.

Should I or shouldn't I
My new neighbors in a one bedroom apt park their car in front of thier attached garage so I can't pull out. They are home now. Should I knock on thier door 11 pm or have my mom take me to work and start parking outside? It's understandable that parking is hard with no where to park
