I brought my beautiful boy home on Sunday, it's now (technically) Thursday. He's had diarrhea since I brought him home, so took him to the vet on Tuesday and was told he was perfectly healthy and got some probiotics for him. Was told if nothing has improved within two to three days I've to call them back. He had a little blood in his stool from Monday and it's still happening. Not lots, but enough to notice it. He had been wormed and flead just before I got him. Could this be the cause?

Thank you.

Does he eat wet or dry? Diaheria will cause dehydration so if he eats dry mix in some wet.

Hi!
He's been eating a bit of both, he's not fussy, which is nice. He's drinking perfectly fine too, so that's put my mind at ease, as I also was worried in case he got dehydrated, but vet also said hydration level is perfect, so that's a plus!

How old is your cat / kitten? You’ll want to take a stool sample to the vet for testing, but often nothing shows up. It may be parasites, or intestinal bacterial infection. Metronidazole will cure both. Also, what color is the poop?

He is 7 or 8 weeks old. I've been given a probiotic by the vet, but it hasn't helped yet. They did say to call back in about three days if I've not noticed a difference, so I'll be calling later today.
The colour... I can't describe it. Normal colour of kitten poop but runny. But there's blood in it, not a lot, but enough to see some. I wiped his bum and before I wiped, I noticed a wee bit of blood on his bumbum, so I'm kinda thinking for whatever reason that it could be an anal fissure 🤔

has his food been consistently? Since he's that young, monitor it,give him the same food. Blood in diaheria is more concerning so monitor. Does it get worse? Certain time of day?

He sounds like he needs a round of Metronidazole. Blood usually means parasites or bacterial infection in the intestines. The probiotics are not a cure. Five to 7 days of Metronidazole should do it.
