Yep. She pooped and zoomed and let out the most awful poop zoom wails that sound so much like her hairball wails. 🙉 She had a zoom and wail session last night that got me out of bed. We had an aggressive fuss session and then back to bed we went.
Betty sometimes has pee zoomies. But she definitely has poop zoomies. And it's frequently accompanied by a very similar wailing sound to her pre-hairball yowling. But if I get up to check on her, she gives me a soft squeak like, "who? what? you must have been mistaken over who was making all that noise." 🤦‍♂️ 😹
:crackup::lol:
Okay, I'm glad that you 'slightly clarified'...what these 'poop zoom wails'...actually sound like.
But I'm still confused.

So they are like...long meows?...not chirps...and not murmurs...
And Betty does these 'wails'...as she is zipping around the apartment...zooming away.
Like it sounds like an 'engine revving up'...and then when you go to see her...she suddenly uses her 'inside voice'....hahaha.

Betty sounds so special and unique.
I don't think I've ever heard my two cats, do that 'sound' with the poop zoomies.
A few chirps maybe, but no joyful long concerto singing.
What 'extra stuff' is in those 'poop pills'. (rhetorical) :chillpill: :chillpill:  :clover:

No I’m sorry. Her poop zoom wails are not joyful noises. She zooms first. Then she stops to wail. She seriously sounds distressed. But whenever I do check in on her, she immediately switches to a cute little squeak or chirp like she wasn’t just yowling bloody murder. 🙉🤦🏼‍♂️😹 She’s the cat who yowls wolf. 😔

Now I don’t know if I reported this a couple weeks ago. But the latest ultrasound did not show bladder stones anymore. So if I was worried that she was having painful pees, the ultrasound doesn’t confirm that anymore.

🤷🏼‍♂️

Oh, I'm so sorry. I totally misunderstood.
So she poops, then zooms, ...then she stops...vocalizes extremely loudly...and is either calling out to you...or she is calling out to the universe?

Maybe she hears some outdoor cats, and is calling them?
Or perhaps she just likes to wail at certain times,...if she does not see you...and feels a bit lonely. idk.
"yowls wolf"...has to be some sort of reason,...but just hard to know.

When you are watching her on the cameras...does she look like she is 'looking for someone?'
or "something to play with?"..during those 'wailing times'?

At least, when she gets the 'full-cat body rubs'...she obviously enjoys them. :cloud9:
So yeah, maybe she just wants you there, ...zooming with her, too. :) or watching her zoomies. :clover:
Never know. :dunno:

If I’m being honest with myself and Betty, the zoom yowls and the hairball yowls are different sounds. But not by much. She poops. She zooms. Then she stops to wail. I don’t think she’s calling out to me or anyone in general. I think that’s just one of her play noises as awful as it sounds. 🤦🏼‍♂️🙉😔😹

With Baby Su, she yowls this long-drawn-out, mournful, loud wail and then does whatever she's going to do. It's like she's announcing it to the world in general, and me in particular. The pre-puke wails are the longer and more mournful of the two types.
Awww, Betty! TINY CAT TOES!!! :hearthrob: :lovecat3: :hearthrob:

Shoot! I thought it was odd and ominous that she snubbed lunch. Then a single pained yowl as she walked out of the office to yak in the other room. It was a small watery (maybe some acid) spit with no hair. Then a second spit with no food or hair. She hunched it out for a moment. And now she's back in the office giving me the eyes but not quite making a strong enough case. I don't know if I trust her tummy right now. If it's acidy, it could use a primer portion. But if it's spasming because that's what it usually does on spit days, then it may be too soon for a primer portion. But I really want her to fill her belly before I fast her tonight.

She's starting to make a stronger case...

Update: I gave her a 1/3 test portion. I don't want her spitting all day. But we don't have an overnight to catch her belly up either. I have to cut her off at 8 pm tonight. Hopefully that was a total fluke and she'll be ready for the rest of her lunch in another 90 minutes or so. I gave her trial portion at approx 1 pm. So she doesn't get another before 2:30 pm.

I cleaned her ears this morning with a few drops of vinegar in chamomile tea and then soaked that up into a makeup square and tried to rub off as much of her mirtz crusties as I could. I wonder if that had anything to do with anything. I did that last week too. But I can’t remember if it was the same day she hairballed.

She seems dicey…🫣 I may have rushed that trial portion. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Is it really hot there? It is here. So predictably, it's foodstrike time.

It is really hot outside. Inside, it's staying rather cool. For now. Wait until 4 when we start to get that afternoon sun. It will be like trying un-pop popcorn trying to get this place to cool down in the evening/at night. Between a hangry cat and the heat, I sense another sleepless pre-vet night.

There is! Fingers crossed that tonight isn't as bad as you think it will be...
The first picture was from the night she came home. She was probably a mixture of stressed, curious, and relieved. She had spent all day in her acclimation room and was finally flirting with the rest of the home after folks here talked me into cracking the door open for her that first night.

We sailed right past my hard limit of 2:30 and my target of 3. Now it's almost four and she still hasn't made a case for any more. But, as I've said before, I'd rather underfeed the cat than overfeed the carpet. So at least what little she ate at 1 seems to be staying down. I put down 11 grams at 1pm. I put 16 grams down at 3pm. If she takes that up and it stays down, she'll only be 10 grams short on lunch. I mostly just want her eating enough on the two dinners tonight that she won't be too hangry overnight.

She definitely does look sassier in the second pic! Happier, too.
*Hoping that food stays in the cat!*
That's how it is here, too. Unless it's blazing, it stays fairly comfortable from my opening up windows and the front door overnight with just the security door for, uh, security. That thing has paid for itself thousands of times over. I know you can't, though, because you rent. :sigh:
All the BEST, though, for a comfortable night and a smooth, easy tomorrow all the way around.
