I don't think many people were using Internet Explorer in the past decade or so. Chrome is the most popular web browser followed by FireFox. Apple users have the Safari web browser. Smartphone users have whatever browser is on their phone.

The issue for some not computer literate people is that they don’t understand browsers and when they hear Internet Explorer isn’t supported they think they need a new computer.

It's called Edge now, isn't it? Microsoft Edge. I think that's what I'm using.

I have a couple of elderly friends in here. One is definitely using Internet Explorer. I think the other one is using Google.
Both of them never update their computers.. It is maddening.
I cannot wait to see if they call me for help... One was away, and is returning today..

MS has been slowly removing it from Win11 and now.. it's gone. It is what it was...not good but functional. Edge is much better that IE ever was. IMO

I would help them get used to using Chrome. It's a great browser

I thought it died a long time ago. Been using Chrome and Edge for years.
It's been on the way out for some time. Since Edge came around IE has been on it's last legs.

Well you can't use it anymore :). The browser no longer works even if it's installed on your computer and you may have used it in the past. Opening the browser just redirects you to Microsoft's web site to download the Edge browser. Of course you don't have to use Edge. Chrome is by far the most popular web browser. I personally prefer to use FireFox.

I think it's sad, although I don't use it either. But it was the first browser I used and discovered the power of the Internet. To me, it's sad to see it go.

Duck Duck Go isn't a web browser. It's just a search engine (like Google or Yahoo) that works with any web browser (Chrome, etc) to prevent your private information from being shared and blocks trackers.

I have been using Edge on my personal laptop for a while now. When it was still Explorer I used Chrome. I work from home and my work computer has Edge, Chrome and Firefox on it. We are supposed to use Firefox for the billing system itself but we can use whatever browser we want for everything else. The billing system will work on the other two but they want us to use Firefox. I remember with Explorer we couldn't save anything in the billing system. I could log on and bring things up, open up things but it wouldn't save changes. I am guessing that is because of all the security issues that had always plagued Explorer. The security issues is why I always used Chrome when it was Explorer.

I was having too many advertisements using Chrome then the browser screwing things up til I installed ddg. No advertisements!
