My cat is around 57 days pregnant and I noticed a brown plug looking thing sticking out of her lady areas. I tried to clean around it with a glove and wipe, but she feels discomfort when I try to touch her near there. I’m not sure what it could be, but I’ve been trying to research about it. It also feels kind of hard if that’s helpful. I think she might be coming close to giving birth since I can feel her kittens in her stomach. (The blue thing near it is from her new litter that I had to buy on a whim since she ran out of her other one. It will be changed soon!!) I attached a photo of her teat. Also, I plan to get her and my male cat spayed/neutered after she gives birth

Im sorry, i dont know what this sticking out thing is. Unless its the mucus plug, but it dried before it dripped off, and is stuck... NOT the common, but I hope its what it is. If you dont get good answers here, mail this photo to your vet, let himher decide.

Re your tom... If you arent a breeder and arent planning no more litters, its best to neuter him NOW, before she delivers.
Because cats arent protected by nursing, and she can get preg anew just a week after the delivery.
Toms can be fertile at least a full week after neutering, but thorethically even a full month.

I presume they are good pals, and she will want him to keep her and kittens company? Should be OK (superwise the first occasion), but you dont want to risk new pregnancies...

Thank you so much for helping! I talked about spaying my cats with my parents and they agreed to spay them after the queen gives birth. The good news is that she is starting to give birth and the vet confirmed it was her mucus plug that was lost! She’s currently in her nesting box (picture attached) and it seems as though she doesn’t want me to leave her side. Would it be alright for me to pet her occasionally as she gives birth or should I try to avoid petting her as she does it?

I understand daddy is a point him too? Because all babies seems to be points.

(Congrats to the family!)

Are they supposed to be purebreds of some sort? Or just lucky coincidence both momma and daddy are points?

We were told that both mom and dad were points (pure siamese), but they both ended up having characteristics of tabby

Unfortunately, I have bad news. One of the kittens passed overnight and I’m not sure on how it happened. It wasn’t the runt since it was a slightly bigger kitten and it seemed to be getting enough milk. All of the kittens were near a heat source (blankets were next to them and the room was fairly warm). I noticed that it started to whine a lot and it kept looking for momma cat. I tried to help warm it up until momma cat came back and I thought everything would be okay. When I woke up this morning, I saw that it was stiff and wouldn’t wake up. I’m not sure if fading kitten syndrome might’ve happened and that was the cause for its sudden death.

Ouch. it could be a number of things, but be sure you have glucose sugar at hand. It can occasionally be too low blood sugar niveu.

If you dont have glucose sugar, you can use white caro syrup, or even honey. Or in a pinch, almost anything containing lotsa of sugar. Maple syrup?

you put a droplet on the gum inside the lip; you can repeat after a while.

This is useful in many situations, including what seems to be fading kitten syndrome.

Because, too low blood sugar causes lethargy; and the kittens is going down. Sometimes it can be broken of by such glucose sugar...

They are points, but I dont think they are pure siameses; even if their forefathers were siameses, and some will call them for siamese-mixes

Momma seems to be a tortie (this nosepiece seems to be a creamish tortie spot!?) + tabby + point, daddy is a tabby + point,
so momma may be described as domestic shorthair; tortie lynx point with white. Daddy domestic shorthair, lynx point with white.
