Just here for a minute. Banjo has an appointment. We are trying to document as much as we can. I heard back from Cornell and they are interested in the progress and findings too. I feel like Banjo is in good hands at this point but I do wish I had a cat party bus take her to meet all the fantastic people who are contributing to her well being and sending prayers, lighting candles and giving us suppprt! Love to everyone and we’ll keep you posted. Love, love all the flowers and posts. Thank you! I read each one.:cloud9::bicolorcat:
Prayers for Banjo

Nice!

Thank you Taking care.
I do love the Pawverb! Yes. Our best friend is therapy. I get a lot of therapy at home and right here. I consider myself extremely fortunate!

Here’s how our appointment went today. No meds yet. They are on order still.
Hope the meds come in soon. :crossfingers:

I have a few pictures of some that are blooming (not the best picture on a couple):
Lovely flower pics. Thanks for sharing. :)

rubysmama rubysmama rubysmama rubysmama Ohhh! I have seen that phlox before but never had that one. It is one of the prettiest of phlox to me.
I have a purple one too, which isn't quite at its peak yet. Picture probably next week.

Now that Geum is cool! Very pretty! I don’t think I know that one at all! Is it related to Geraniums? The leaves kind of look like it. Also look something like strawberry leaves. Are they fuzzy or is that my vision? Lolololol
I googled and found this:
Geum, commonly called avens, is a genus of about 50 species of rhizomatous perennial herbaceous plants in the rose family and its subfamily Rosoideae, widespread across Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, and New Zealand. They are closely related to Potentilla and Fragaria. Wikipedia
The candytuft is something I remember zoom having. I haven’t seen any since. Nice memory. Thank you!
"zoom" ??? Another typo, I presume. ;)

rubysmama rubysmama rubysmama rubysmama That cartoon made me laugh. It also made me remember how often I tell people that some weeds are good. In fact, flowers all began as weeds. Lol Here is why Dandelions are beneficial. Not that we want nothing but dandelions…..
Interesting video. I have both acidic and compacted soil, so no wonder the dandelions are trying to help.

Loving the flowers. All beautiful.
Love your flowers too It's nice seeing what grows in different parts of the world.

Here's my flower of the day. It's an anemone.

I had also contacted Cornell University. Once again, the doctors have never heard of a case like this and they are very interested to be kept updated.
Now, who would need to fly to meet the bus? I wonder if Banjo has any celebrity friends who have a tour bus they aren’t using? Cat tour? It would be especially cool if the bus was the ,” Catbus”!
Cornell is an excellent veterinary medical school, both highly respected and extremely knowledgeable staff. I'm very glad to hear they are interested in Banjo's health case. 🤗 The University of PA is also well known for veterinary medicine. One more reason you will need a Catbus to make the rounds. Count me in, I'll fly to meet the bus, bring treats, coffee and hop on with everyone! 🚌 With all the love and friendship you have on TCS you may need a larger bus.:heartshape:

We have the same problem with the soil here. It's compacted because of all the clay, and acidic because of all the cinders from the original coal-fired furnace. That's why I have all of the raised beds, amended soil, and I have limed the snot out of everything to get the pH from 4.5 up to 7, and, for some plants, up to 8. You do what you have to do.

My flowers do ok with the soil, though the beds were originally made with bagged garden soil, so maybe that's helped. But the poor lawn struggles. Dandelions aren't too bad, but clover is taking over the lawn, which I know means acidic soil. I try to lime every spring and fall, but those bags are so heavy, sometimes I miss a season. I also have another weed, that I think is chickweed. Plus, many, many others. :rolleyes2:

neely neely I used to get Cornell's Feline Health journal. Very informative.
Thanking all for beautiful flower shares.
Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Is that one related to bougainvillea, do you know? The tiny yellow floret in the middle of the large pink petals reminds me of it. Beautiful!
Jcatbird Jcatbird During my time in the music biz, the president of publishing had kidney stones and someone brought him aloe vera juice. IDK if it helped. He was in so much pain he could hardly move. I hope it did help!
Yes, the Catbus. Or maybe a boat? In Amsterdam, there is the famous Poezenboot https://depoezenboot.nl and if you had one of those, you could do the rounds of all of the coastal colonies and more! My oldest and dearest friend actually visited when they were in Amsterdam.
Banjo, would you like a home on the water? The rocking is very relaxing. Jackson Browne actually wrote a song about it, "ROCK ME ON THE WATER." He also wrote a song called, "I AM THE CAT." So, enough trivia for this beautiful CATurday morning.

I did not get put on hold too long but I did get cut off once. Lol I ended up sending an email and that got through.

Kitty spa day! That’s so cute. I did have the odd moment but just odd. Lol No relax time yet but working my way there. It is going to be a constant scrubbing routine until we have gotten through tapeworm meds for all and then again! That haven’t even come in yet! Ack! More in next post. Send the kitty unrolling TP my way! I can use the help on cleaning! Lolololol

tabbytom tabbytom Thank you Taking care.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Yes. Close on paws here.
I really laughed about Banjo flying a stealth bomber and dropping catnip. Would that be leaflets? All for cats, of course! Lol It totally makes sense that her transport would be stealthy. She is a cat.
I am so sorry you lost the larkspur and black calla. To me, losing some of the plants I have had was very difficult. We develop a connection to plants that can be very close to our hearts. I really love the color in the blue larkspur. Bird of Paradise too? Unh. The thing about having gardeners is that they don’t know our personal treasures. They see the big picture when they look at a yard or garden. I used a gardener years ago and told him to “Stay out” of a certain part of the yard. He didn’t. He cut down my variegated flame azalea. Very uncommon plant. It took me ten years to bring it to flowering stage and it had flowers that year for the first time. His reaction? “I was just cutting the weedy shrub! It will grown back quick enough!” Nope. It is alive but still has not flowered again after another ten years. Maybe next year? At least it is alive. Half the height but it is trying.

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose Yes. I was very thin after being sick for so long. Agreed that stomach problems can be terrible. I still deal with the damage. Chickpeas are not an option. Unfortunately. It has taken me years to work up to the things I can eat now. At first it was ,”no guitar, no veggies, no meat, no grains, no dairy….” My reaction was ,” What else is there?” Starvation diet! As it turned out, they hoped I could live on things like white bread, white rice and white potatoes. Ummmm…. You can’t for very long! Then I developed a problem with gluten. Heh. Over time I started just eating small bites of this and that. Peanut butter was one of the things that was easiest for me early on. Now I can eat several kinds of fruit, a little meat, (weird but ham is one that was easiest to digest. Don’t know why, but I was grateful because I was sick of rice and potatoes! ) I can eat a little corn if it is well creamed, some dairy and slowly working my way back to a wider variety of things. They tell me to avoid anything with a hill, like grapes. Unhhhh. I love grapes! Watermelon is great! That was another good I could eat early on. I really miss cereal and other grain things. Once in awhile o sneak a little. One day I will try grapes again! Not now though. The PB being bad has set me back.
A long time ago, a friend brought me an aloe drink. I tried it but it didn’t like me. Lol Maybe I can try again since it has been awhile. Thanks for reminding me of that!

pearl99 pearl99 Very glad you are having a mild case of COVID! Keep getting better! Hugs! Up , up and away! Fly from that bug!
You laughed at Muffin? Me too! I keep wondering what she would have done to me if I had a couple of feathers sticking out of my mouth!?!?! She actually tapped my lip to try and look inside my mouth. These kitties are so funny! Such good kitties. She was going to save that bird! Bad hooman!

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Heh! Yes! Muffin is a smarty pants! Very much so! I can never fool that one. She knew where the bird sounds were coming from. I once gave her a large toy bird for cats and she looked at it for a minute. Then she looked straight at me with ,”That Muffin look” as if to say,” You know that’s not real. Right?” She tries very hard to educate her hooman!
Flowers make me smile too. From the tiniest bud, a smile blooms. I am so glad that smiles are growing now. :hugs:

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose Good news?!?! :woo::banana1::bunnydance::jump::jive::woohoo:Yay! Prayers, hope, good wishes and never giving up works!

N NY cat man Something in boom all the time? Lol For me, that worked if I planted dozens of different flowers but even then….. not always. I interspersed with annuals as needed. Good ole marigolds we’re helpful to fill in here. Thise usually leave some seed for next year too. I like thise to help keep bugs away from the other plants too. Companion planting is something I find interesting.
Oh pearl99 pearl99 Pansies and a squirrel! Precious! I love all the flowers but that is such a cute photo!

rubysmama rubysmama That cartoon made me laugh. It also made me remember how often I tell people that some weeds are good. In fact, flowers all began as weeds. Lol Here is why Dandelions are beneficial. Not that we want nothing but dandelions…..
It was weird about this gardener. He was Japanese and very highly educated in his craft. He was my parents' gardener for almost all of the years they lived here, and almost like family to us. He did apparently express his dislike of the black calla to my parents, saying something about its being evil, but never said anything about the other plants, which are widely known by most (?) people to be popular, well-liked, and beautiful. I was very disappointed, especially about the larkspur which were my father's favorite. He even saved the seeds to replant. The nice thing is that some did come up in a totally unexpected place a couple of years back. There are several plants that have come up, mostly bulbs, that I didn't know were there. But yes, we share that love of and attachment to plants. In my family and background, it's the attachment -- to all kinds of living things and objects -- that makes something most loved and treasured. We couldn't care less about the price or status "value" of things, or what others think of them.

Hello everyone I hope you are having a great Memorial weekend so far. I hope everyone is doing well.

Jcatbird Jcatbird I am so happy to see Banjo acting like her normal self. Banjo is so expressive, I couldn't help smiling at her pics. So glad that Cornell is interested in Banjo's unusual medical case. Also glad for the dedicated professionals who diligently worked to diagnose and find the right medical treatment for Banjo. Also for all those who offered prayer and support. ❤

I am so sorry you have been through quite an experience with that food poisoning and the digestive issues that followed. I hope you can continue to expand on the variety of food you can eat over time. I also hope the PB situation improves. If it draws out, here is a recipe (with variations) for home made Peanut Butter. The Best Homemade Peanut Butter (With Variations)
In regards to the Aloe Vera Juice, see if you can get George's Aloe Vera Juice in the health food store or online. This Aloe Vera Juice practically tastes like water. It is the one people drink who can't stand regular AV Juice.

Well I am still so happy something is happening. I subscribe to the acronym P.U.S.H (Pray Till Something Happens). So happy for things starting to fall in place. TG. I hope one day you can go on tour with the kitties. Come up to my neck of the woods, you will get a huge welcome. Just get a double decker bus, so the cats have all the space they need. ;)
Well take care. ❤

No I don't think so. Dona Luz is a Mussaenda. They have different types too. One is Dona Aurora and I think another one is Dona Ramona. I have a Dona Aurora but its not blooming yet. It has white sepals instead of pink. :)

They are indeed beautiful, thanks a lot.

Here are two fun ones: “Many mumbling mice are making midnight music in the moonlight, mighty nice.” And ”The Leith police dismisseth us.”

Hear you bout raised beds. I just discovered some parsnips and carrots growing from last year and have blended ‘em into a nice cream soup! Yum! Plus my neighbor shares his seeds, so double yum!

LOL. I actually don't find that hard to say. But try saying this more than once.
Try this one. First, say the whole phrase at a slow speed, then at normal speed and then repeat at a faster speed and go faster and faster :-
'How many wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. If a wood chuck could chuck wood, how many wood could a wood chuck chuck?'

We got a delivery from Chewy yesterday, and in the boxes was a bunch of packing paper that hasn't made it to the recycling tote yet so Digger has found a new play area.
Digger is recycling it already.
