Winchester Winchester I thought I was ok.. until this afternoon. All I had was a sore biceps, and a bit of queasiness in the tummy--alleviated by food!! :flail: and just being fatigued.

But.... It may be because of the weather--fog all day long, and me doing too much. I do not feel well right now... tummy still queasy, a headache, tiredness, feeling out of sorts. It could be the fog, allergies, or the booster; or a combination of all.

I heard that many people in the building got sick from it. I had a 3 day issue with the other shots..
I watched and helped referee the staff's Bocce game. They never played before and needed help. I tried to go for a small walk not he beach, but was pretty unsuccessful.. hip started bothering me, and the headache came on.. so in my nightshirt extremely early..Stretched out on the recliner.. Geoffrey is so thoughtful. He jumped on the end of the recliner, up against my leg... sweet boy.. He is beginning to care about me...

It is overcast. Either heavy mist or very, very light rain. So far this morning I have

Taken the winter comforter off the bed and put it away in the cedar chest.

First load of laundry into the dryer, second load in the washing machine.

Dumped the two tubs of twiggy branches that were lopped off the fallen trees yesterday.

Dug the clump of Trillium luteum I noted along the path to the brush pile. Large, healthy, multi-stemmed clump. No idea how it got there, how long it has been there.

Replanted the clump elsewhere, adding compost and then sprinkling Milorganite as it looks like deer ate a couple of trillium stems. And this is very much Not Good! because each stem of trillium only make the one whorl of 3 leaflets each year and being eaten weakens them.

Shoveled three buckets full of of compost. Used my car to bring them up the driveway - my knees are too sore to push a cart up the driveway.

And now I will sit for a bit, do lunch, and then - perhaps - prepare a cart's worth of potting mix and do some repotting. Or maybe not.

feel icky from the booster shot. I thought I was ok.. but, I guess not. Very sy stomach. Very fatigued. and still a bit of a queasy lower tummy.

I went back to bed around 10am.. after breakfast and cleaning up a fur ball. Cuddled with Geoffrey a lot, while lying down.. took a very late shower, threw some trash away, regular morning stuff being done in the afternoon.

The fog is really dense here. At one point, I could not see the water line. I thought I saw someone walking in the sand, but it was so difficult to make out. I am across the street from the beach--it is that foggy. Has been for 2 days now.

It is warm out side, therefore, it is warm in here. With my asthma, was having a bit of Short of Breath. I put the AC on low, in the living area. Feels much better. I will put the air purifier on, in the bedroom, soon.

Very thirsty..

Geoffrey is afraid of the AC.... :gaah:

MonaLyssa33 MonaLyssa33 I am very sorry about your grandfather.

regular stuff

wash a few throws.

My new helper only lasted about a month but she got my place back in somewhat order, She vacuumed the spare room and threw out all the boxes I had from buying online. She vacuumed the cold air ducts and the entire house. I didn't realize how much dust there was till she did this. She was an amazing cook as well.

I have a new hanging geranium in a peachy-pink color that I have on a shepherd's hook. The bumblebees love it!

...with the cats...
today i emptied the dishwasher and washed the few dishes in the sink, made Tex/Mex Chicken and Rice, washed the dishes from making the chicken and rice, got the new chest freezer in it's spot and have it becoming cold, put together an office chair, then scooped the litter boxes. i took out some boxes to the recycling, and made it out of my apartment and over to do some jigsaw puzzle. a lot accomplished, and am relaxing now.

i've started using a pet spot cleaner machine recently. it's a great thing! i love having the right tool for the job.

Yesterday was a kind of busy but relaxing day..A different day for me...enjoyable
* quick morning stuff

*Had my cleaner in to scrub the entire bathroom, the floor and on hands and knees to really clean the kitchen floor.. She does such a good job. It is tile, and I cannot get into the grout..

*Grand re-opening of the city's Historical Society. Since I was in touch with the head of it, regarding information on our building and landsite; I decided to go... OMG.. so interesting.. He was there. Gave me a complimentary book on the history of our city.

*I will definitely use a ton of this information on my next newspaper article... "History of our Address"...with another article on the namesake of our building. I have the articles written, but will add to it. I am interviewing someone tomorrow afternoon.

*Met a former High School English teacher at the Historical Society. She is a long time member of the School Committee. I told her about me joining the newspaper. She was so happy for me. Wanted a copy of the paper.

*Also saw a candidate for the local open city council seat. We are having a special election for it. Our councillor had to resign due to medical reasons.. too bad. I know the new candidate from my work with Parking.. so...

*It was so hot! 86 degrees. AC was on.. Fans were on... blinds drawn in my bedroom.. Geoffrey is not happy about this.. but he will get used to it..

*4pm Mass

*Not hungry for supper.., just had a couple of slices of oatmeal bread with butter... then out for a LARGE Vanilla soft serve ice cream. Sat on the beach wall, eating it... it was melting faster than I could keep up!!

Today:
Who knows??

Today, I took my dog Roo to the vet. I had therapy this afternoon. Then after therapy I started (finally) laying down the vinyl planks in the room that will be my pottery studio. I got almost all of it done, but there is the last few boards that I'm going to need help from my dad to get right, so hopefully by Wednesday, when he plans to be here, it will all be done. Here's the picture after I finished for the night. Also a blurry Flora is included. ;-)

Today I watered all the big pots I moved out of the greenhouse yesterday, using a hand truck. Also watered the last 10 pots of summer growing bulbs that I repotted yesterday and moved outdoors. It was supposed to rain, you see. It did, a whole 7/100ths of an inch. And today is very breezy and low humidity.

Also today I am putting up shade cloth in the greenhouse. There are 9 sections, it involves up and down a ladder and a step stool - four are done and I'm waiting for the acetaminophen to kick in before I continue. If I'm not done today there is always tomorrow.

What brand/flavor do you buy? My cats won't eat any of the hairball pastes/gels that I've tried.
This is the one I use. I get the Catnip flavored one from Chewy. If you keep it in the refrigerator, it does not 'run' as much.

I stopped trying to put it directly on Geoffrey's paw.. had the same results with Artie, also. It was just flicked around the house. I still have glob which has solidified, on a power strip! And the cats would refuse to lick it off.

I just put some on my finger, and put it on the roof of Geoffrey's mouth. A trick a Vet Tech showed me. Almost like pilling a cat.

Ugh.. I just have overexerted myself during exercise class. My neck has been in spasm for over a week. I have been too busy to see the doctor, but I really need to. It is the upper part of my neck, on the right side. A constant severer muscle spasm. I think I have arthritis in the neck. When doing the neck rolls, I could hear popping and crunching..
Then a day later, I got the severe spasm. The bra strap makes it worse. I have to keep my neck up high and straight.

I have had this for over a week. Taking some Motrin and extra strength Tylenol for it.. trying out a neck massager.. not sure about that.

I am so anxious about Geoffrey nd and so many meeting this week, that seeing my PCP was out of the question. I am calling her on Monday.

I can take pain, but this is really bad.. I cannot find a spot where it does not hurt. Feels like a Charlie horse in my neck.

I will probably have to see a chiropractor.. but I never did, and I do not know the names of any good ones..

Thanks. Yes, they just flick it all over the house if I put it on their paw. I'm not sure if I could get my finger back out of their mouth though! They are still pretty feral in some ways.

I didn't have a lot of work today, so I ended up doing some deep cleaning in my house. I've so far cleaned my living room (which is the room I use the most, so it is the messiest) and I've done some cleaning in the kitchen, dining room, and my bedroom. I've also done all of my laundry (I only have one load left to do). I'm hoping to finish cleaning the kitchen and my bedroom before bed. I'm putting together stuff I want to donate because I hate having a bunch of stuff in my house that I don't use or think that I'll use it at a later date but never actually do. Thankfully it's trash and recycling day tomorrow, so I anticipate both bins to be pretty full.

get caught up on laundry

went to the store twice his week and my feet ache. A friend gave me a gift card for Ugg's a year ago
and I bought a pair of slippers and a pair of short boots. I wore the boots both days when I walked to the store.
I have a high arch and the cut that I got when I fell on the deck is on the arch. I'm going to buy inserts and see
if that helps.

Hopefully read on the deck...it was too muggy yesterday.

This weekend is supposed to be in the 90s Fahrenheit. My outdoor bananas are loving it - oh boy! rain and heat, just what we love!

So this morning I started making tuna pasta salad for dinner - boiled up small shells pasta and green peas, mixed with mayonnaise and oregano, refrigerated. Need to bring canned tuna up from my preps in the basement to finish. Will also dice sweet red pepper, probably add sliced black olives. Just before serving embellish with hard boiled egg. Ah, summer salads.

Something new I started last night - If you've looked at my occasional What's For Dinner entries with pictures you might have noticed that I portion cooked rice with a scoop. Last night Himself had a hot dog, carrots and peas, mashed potatoes. So - you are probably ahead of me - I portioned mashed potatoes with the scoop. Checked on line and yes, mashed potatoes can be frozen. So I deliberately made extra, scooped them, frozen them overnight and this morning bagged, boxed, into the freezer. We'll see how it works out. But in an Aha! moment I thought about all the frozen tater tots etc to be seen in the freezer case and thought "why not" as a do it myself.

Water line for clothes washer must have grit or something in filter because water takes so very long to trickle in and fill the tub. Himself bought a replacement filter yesterday. Sometime this weekend we need to make the replacement. Wouldn't be so difficult if the laundry room was not so small, barely larger than side by side washer and dryer.

Today I need to start planting out all the cannas crated up for winter - the very tall banana cannas, yellow striped 'Bengal Tiger', 'Purpurea' with narrow purple leaves, and 'Tropicana' with orange-red splotched leaves. I swear, next fall I will leaves more in the ground to freeze so I won't have so many to deal with the following spring. Are you able to harden your heart and leave plants outdoors to freeze and die in the winter?

Better get to it. Bye for now.
