Just a quick note. I got news today. The tests done on Banjo do NOT show cancer cells at this time nor FIP. It seems that at some point in her past, a tapeworm died inside and , unlike what usually happens (they dissolve by digestion) it became necrotic tissue and has formed the mass we saw. Let me be clear that the worm is the necrotic tissue. We can not draw it out and surgical removal would be very extensive and invasive so, for now we are going to try and shrink the tissue down with oral tapeworm medicine. Banjo has bee treated regularly with topical tapeworm meds but the oral prescription should act differently. We’ll go back in some weeks to see if this is working. She is functioning well so this is a good option right now. I am off for now because I have to work on getting the new meds tomorrow. Sending love and we’ll have a smile post tomorrow!!

Oh my what a weird thing! But so much better than other alternatives. I sure hope this med works well and the composted tapeworm in there just disappears!!!
So glad she's functioning well.

Oh my! First time I have heard about this. There are a lot of things I do not know about animal health. Usually when I bring any of my pets to the vet they would explain to me what's wrong or what's not wrong with my fur companion that more often than not, I really do not understand no matter how they are relayed to me. So usually when I'd arrive home I'd google some of the things the vet just told me to enlighten me further.

It is good that there are no cancer cells. This is nice to know.

Sending all my love and fervent prayers that everything will just be fine.

What a strange and rather creepy diagnosis. But good to know what you're dealing with, so a plan of treatment can be started. Fingers and paws crossed that the oral tapeworm medicine shrinks the tissue. :crossfingers:

Sending more healing vibes Banjo's way.

Wow!!! Who would of thought of this?! So happy it wasn't cancer and it has been ruled out that Banjo has FIPS. I hope with medication that the dead tape worm can dissolve into nothing.

I think you got your prayers answered that Banjo doesn't have cancer. TG!!! What a relief!!! :yess::woo::wavey::clap::clap2::heartshape:

It's weekend from where I am. What makes me happy is it means I'd have the whole weekend with my cats. I have missed them a lot.

Also want to share some photos of my flowering plants back home:

This is called Cadena de Amor or "Chain of Hearts". From afar they look like tiny hearts in chains:

And my Ylang Ylang or also known as "Magic Fairy Candles". It has a very sweet scent.
