Probably the fall of the Berlin Wall. Although I was just a child, I remember watching an episode of Alvin and the Chipmunks where they performed on the wall and it crumbled because they played so loud, that episode is what caused me to ask about it. Funny enough, that episode first aired before the wall even fell, but I must have seen a repeat or because of the episode, when it actually came down I paid attention...IDK, it was so long ago and was wasn't even 10 yet.

When that baby fell into an old well in Texas and was trapped for hours.
What year did the baby fall into the well? You posting that reminded me about the "Timmy fell down the well" story...was that real?

Nevermind...Just googled...it's an old Simpsons episode...LOL.

Kennedy assasination. They announced it over the intercom at school.

Timmy in the well is from the old Lassie TV show. It's a bit of a joke. I don't know how or why Timmy fell in the well, but I guess Lassie went for help for him.

I am really dating myself. I remember the Cuban Missile Crisis.... I was very young, but I remember everyone being so worried and upset. I was going into the hospital, overnight, for minor surgery. As I was being wheeled into the OR. I heard the nurses talking about it. I knew enough to tell them that everything was OK, that Cuba/Russia backed down. I still remember the looks of astonishment on their faces... I think I was about 6-7 years old...

JFK was really electrifying on the small B&W TV... even to a child...

The Rwanda Genocide and the Bosnian War.

École Polytechnique Massacre.
Concordia University Massacre. And my grandfather was a professor there at the time!

The death of Princess Diana. To be honest, while of course it was sad and tragic, I really didn't care about this (Was never interested in the royal family. #Sorrynotsorry) or at least thought it equaled any sort of high relevancy. But it was eevveerryyywheeeeerre, even in all my classrooms regularly. And for so long. Ugh.

Definitely would have way more to mention so hard to just pin point one altogether, since my family were avid readers, very worldly, discussing everything and in tune with many news updates. There was a also a lot of local news stories where I lived at various locations that I could list, including the two I mentioned.
