It's a misguided attempt to keep them safe and stop bad domestic situations from impacting the public. But as we all know, ONE animal is too many for the neglectful, abusers, or uninformed; and many, for those who care well for and love them, are absolutely fine.
Very true.

Shhhh. Don’t tell the hooman. She is kind of busy right now and I am taking all for a free ride! I’ll pick you all up in the Catavan and bring you back for a catnip and spin party! Ready for fun? RSVP to….:bicolorcat:

GIRL! You left out the jalapenos! Or serranos, or....Pineapple pizza WITH CHILES!
Yes! Gotta have the hot peppers. 🌶

having stuff close by and convenient is really a must after divorce since I don't drive/have a car
Same here. I really need to be closer to a laundromat. ☹

Were those tiny bananas in the Philippines by any chance?
There is a spicy banana ketchup that I want to try from somewhere around there. 🍌

deep-fried bananas which are usually dipped in sesame seeds.
That sounds so good! And more savory than dessert. 👍

Maybe you, Jcatbird, maggiedemi and whomever else wants to, can all come out...it'd be a bit cramped and well, this city only allows 6 cattos so...:sigh:
Oh I would love to find some way out. Hopefully soon I will be brave enough...🙌

as we all know, ONE animal is too many for the neglectful, abusers, or uninformed
Or one human dependent is too many for the neglectful abusers. :sigh:

I’ll pick you all up in the Catavan and bring you back for a catnip and spin party!
I wish it were that easy. I'm so envious that you get such free access to the washing machine. Maybe someday soon...🙏

Hey Banjo! :bicolorcat:
Ruby says to tell you she's packed and will be watching for you and the Catavan at the US/Canada border. :lovecat2:

Living in an area with cold winters, snow and ice I find hand and toe warmers come in very handy. 🧤
When I was in the music biz one of my co-workers gave me a pair of leg warmers. They come in very handy sometimes. Another friend picked up this pair of fingerless gloves one time when we were at Petco. They were $.99. They've paid for themselves a thousand times over. My hands are like King Tut's and so I use them every day in the cold weather to work.
M maggiedemi Yeah, I think you might like the deep fried bananas! Wishing you had access to wash your clothes?!! That's basic!
Jcatbird Jcatbird Oh, Banjo, I'm not sure about going for a spin -- you are not talking about your wonderful new washer, I hope:crackup:

tabbytom tabbytom Okay! You are the first one to respond so you get to ride beside the driver. Feeling brave? Lol

M maggiedemi Banana Ketchup? Ummmmmm. We leave that for you. It made me think of our experiment with potatoes and peanut butter! Lol

You don’t have to be brave as long as you don’t ride in the front seat with Banjo driving. Just close your eyes and fasten your seat belt.:hugs: When the view is better you can open your eyes and enjoy the rest of the journey. The scenery will change.;) Banjo can hold your paw. She and the others understand.

Deep friend bananas are something I can imagine. Lots of things are deep fried around here!

neely neely Oh boy! Another yes to the RSVP! (Reserved Space for Vibrating Purrs) Do you like a spot by the window?

rubysmama rubysmama Yay! Tell Ruby I will be in the red Catavan! This is going to be a great road trip!

Mom went to rent a car at the airport. She says she will be picking you up in a black Mirage. No. Murage? Purrage? Anyway, a little black car. The rental people still remember us from the time I came back from Florida! Something about rescuing a car? Here is a picture I took of the car she rented so I can use the Catavan.
08DEB5F6-953B-43CF-8E95-59E6F68C9DF0.jpeg

Sorry I can’t pick you up in a plane. Mom won’t let me buy one of those yet. She thinks we would all need purrachutes!!

pearl99 pearl99 Oh yes! We can pick you and Mooshoo up on the way North. That way we can all greet Ruby since her Mom will be flying in. I have to drive but I will bring catnip for everyone else to prevent any motion sickness. Lol

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I had some of those fingerless gloves! I loved them and used them all the time! I used them when I went to the jungle. They allow nimble use of fingers but still protect the hands. Great for climbing! I ended up losing one but if I could find more, I would stock up!

Oh! I wish I could come there! I have never been there and I would love, love to see you , the kitties and your garden. Hmmm. If the Clowder came, there might be enough of us to change the laws? Lol As many cats as you want and can take care of properly?:yess:

:bicolorcat: Well, a spin on the top of the washer is fun! It tickles your paws! You could also come for a spin in the Catavan! No limit on the number of kitties here! Lol

Smile anyone?

Apparently Mitsy has some concerns over daughter, Banjo, traveling all over and partying with catnip along the way.

As a parent, I worry. I know Banjo is a very smart girl but sometimes I think she might be a little too adventurous!

How can I make sure that Banjo is safe along the way and does not over extend herself? She thinks she can do anything!! She would be suspended from the sky if she could.
I have an idea! A chaperone AND a guardian of the keys!

Mitsy put me in charge of chaperoning in the Catavan on the road trip.
I don’t mind but did she have to stick the keys to my paw?!?!? Banjo is really smart.
What happens if she figures out how to remove the velcro

Jcatbird Jcatbird , I often use you (no names or other identifiers) on another board as an example of what a hoarder is NOT. Some seem to think that hoarding is a matter of how many cats there are...and at some point, I suppose that is true, but simply "double digit cats" is not that point for everyone! When asked the optimum number of cats recently, I replied, "The number that you can care for physically day-to-day, emotionally and socially, and medically. Keep in mind that cats' medical expenses rise as their ages do."

As well she should, as Banjo is one very adventurous feline. :bicolorcat:

Glad you mentioned Mitsy, btw, as I knew who their dad was (:angel3:) but couldn't remember who their fur mom was. And now I can totally see the resemblance, between mom and son, Whistle, as they both have that white bib. Banjo though, not so much. Can't remember, did they have other litter mates?

Gah! I hate flying. :fear:

Wishing you had access to wash your clothes?!! That's basic!
And blankets! But she's a psycho. My doctors said I will never be well until I get the heck away from her forever, no contact. 🙏

Banana Ketchup? Ummmmmm. We leave that for you. It made me think of our experiment with potatoes and peanut butter!
It's actually really popular in the Philippines. Pic below: 🍌

I hope we can make it happen...soon. 🙌

Now you're tempting me! Wouldn't it be heaven if we could eat fried food in a diner together some day? :crossfingers:

I wouldn't mind a spicy Muffin chaperone! 😻

:hellocomputer:So sorry :bicolorcat: but mom won't let me come because I am still on medicine even though I'm feeling a lot better.:cutecat::sickcat:
What? Oh, ok I will:
We had a hr & 1/2 wait in the car last Sunday at the Emergency vet. The chez catbird clowder put together a list of stuff to ask the vet to check and Jcatbird Jcatbird called it to mom while we waited in the car. Mom had papers showing everything they had done at my vet on Fri. Finally got called in and met Dr. Erika, she was wonderful! She had either already checked or checked as soon as mom mentioned one from the list and she didn't get snarky about it, we even think she was a little bit impressed with us being so prepared! She was poking and prodding around, and since I had a full bladder it kinda hurt and I gave a little growl! X-rays didn't show kidney stones or other any other problems. Got stuck with a needle and had a thermometer stuck up my butt! White blood count back up to normal. No problems found but she thought I felt tight along my back over my hips so squirted nasty pain stuff in my mouth
along with a different appetite helper! YUCK! She is a licensed critter Chiropractor and mom said it was ok so she gave me a 'treatment', it felt a lot like mom & dads massages with a couple of gentle 'alignments' it was great! We were send home with the two nasty squirty stuff and told to keep using the antibiotic and anti nausea pill from doc on Fri. Mom made quite a mess (with my help:insertevillaugh:) with the squirty stuff until she finally found a video from 'Helpful Vancouver Vet' on youtube on how to give them mellow and calmly. Dr Uri Burstyn is fantastic! He is the guy who showed her the 'Blind Superman' maneuver that gets me in my carrier before I even realize what's going on. I'm eating kibble, pooping and peeing, loving Sheba meat sticks, probiatic/ prebiotic in a Churu and wiggleworming while being brushed again. Still sorta picky about my wet food though.

Thanks so much for your well wishes and healing vibes :touched:

Jcatbird Jcatbird Mitsy is not only lovely, but a very loving mom! She's a lot like my mom, and I'm a lot like Banjo...at least I was growing up. *Hell on wheels* and stubborn!!! Oh, wouldn't that be amazing if we could get that quota changed everywhere! Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 is right -- you are an excellent example of what a hoarder is NOT, and what a loving multi-cat family IS. How I wish I was still able to afford a larger furmily. I miss the patter of *lots of* little catfeet barrelling up and down the hallway.
If you pick us all up in the Catavan, Banjo, we can go up to Canada and visit someone a lot of us think a lot of, eh? :winkcat: ;)
M maggiedemi Ah, so that explains it! My ex told me that ketchup/catsup/whatever that awful stuff is, is grey and they add the red coloring to make it palatable. So it could be made from platanos or other bananas...or just about anything else! It's kinda like sausage or bologna -- you just never know WHAT's in there and it's probably better not to ask or read the label. *As to the rest, yeah, sometimes, unfortunately, drastic changes are needed in life. It may not be what is easy or even what we want. But sometimes a "reset" is necessary.*
dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 What an adorable series! and I'm so glad Gypsy is doing better. Sounds like Dr. Erika is a wonderful, caring vet, and that you found a great video of the "Helpful Vancouver Vet"! *PRAYERS* and best, best thoughts of wellness and wellbeing for you, Gypsy! *That's a very stylish carrier, BTW!*

I have a pair of woolen mittens where the top folds back to expose my fingers and I love them. Can use them when I'm out taking bird photos to use the camera!

Yay! I'll have to take care of the motion sickness since Moo is totally unimpressed with catnip. "What's all the excitement about with catnip? Meh" she says.

Good to hear Gypsy is doing so well! I will have to look up those Vancouver Vet videos since I have to take Waffles in for his rabies and other vax and always sooooo traumatic for him to be put in the carrier. Glad you mentioned this!

Have you tried Moo on SILVERVINE? Cloud Nine Silver Vine - Medium Elvis goes crazy for it! and Baby Su loves it, too.
