Please send healing vibes and thoughts for Gypsy. She wouldn't eat last Thur. Full workup done @ vets on Fri. All labs were within parameters except low grade temp & low white blood cell. Nothing conclusive so they said they were treating symptoms. Given an antibiotic and anti nausa at vet and sent home with them along with an appetite stimulant which she reacted badly with, it made her dopey but didn't help appetite. 20220123_002510.jpg

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Heartfelt *PRAYERS* for "our" beautiful Gypsy to feel better very soon and regain her appetite! Our beloved angel Rani was off her food for three days. I was very concerned. On the fourth day, she resumed her normal eating pattern and was just fine. IDK why that happened! but I'm hoping Gypsy will do likewise, eating-wise. Have you tried her on the squeezeups? I hear those are very popular with a lot of cats. Or the Gerber Second Stages baby foods (anything but the ham)?
Oh, yes, on being a 4-seasoner! I've lived most of my life in and around Los Angeles, so cold weather gear wasn't something I really used until we moved to the Mojave. At 4,100 ft., you need long johns and the ski jacket my ex bought me before we moved there (I've never skiied a day in my life. I couldn't. Go figure.) got a lot of use. The military-issue gumboots he got me for walking in the chickens' barn and yard came in very handy and all of these things are with me now. I got him some crampons and used them when it snowed. He got those.
With climate change making weather more severe, it's probably a good idea for everyone who can to plan for weather they may think isn't going to happen where they live.
Oh, Banjo! Typical geek with your Cheetos. IDK who's worse, you or Muffin with her 30-oz. :insertevillaugh:

She's refusing her Churus, Sheba meat sticks, greenies, temptations, baby food (need to get different kind) sardines, canned chicken water, ff petites and her Sheba in gravey. Drank a little tuna water Thur nite won't touch it since. Via spoon and off my finger she licked a bit of Delectables stew gravey and and a few kibbles last nite and about 1/4 teaspoon of ff gravy lovers Salmon in gravey and about the same amt of Delectables pate lickable treat today. She goes to her kibbles like she wants it but just sniffs sorta like a sore throat but vet chk on Fri said teeth and mouth ok and didn't mention anything about throat redness.

*PRAYERS* from the heart! There are liquid calorie/nutrient boosters available from vet. NutriCal was one I recall. There are probably newer ones now. Maybe blend wet food and water and syringe as much as she will accept?

Prayers, hopes, wishes, love and healing purrs sent to Gypsy. Waiting for an update. Ate a small amount this morning but no potty last update. Potty , drink, and eat Gypsy! Pouch food is yummy. Has anyone tried the warm and served pouches? I had some success with that. Pouch Fancy Feast too. Come on Gypsy! :cheerleader:

Come on Gypsy! Our feral rescue girl is not going potty sooooo, back to emergency vet. It is a three hour wait time to be seen so she will be with her hooman enroute soon. She is a very lucky girl to have been rescued by such loving hoomans. She is getting the best care a kitty can get. Thank goodness she is not living outside in so much snow and such cold temperatures the way she did before finding her Furmily. Rescuers have my heart with them at all times.

rubysmama rubysmama No bikini here either! Lol I have my winter stuff from when I lived in colder places though. It came in handy back when we had snow and I pulled it out again. Lol I have long sleeved long handles! (Long underwear for those who don’t know the term. ;)) I’ve always kept boots since I hike a lot. My toe isn’t fond of them but better angry than froze toes! Lol
I snuck some of those Cheetos out of the bag. I don’t know if Banjo saw me but I think I can give her an innocent look if she questions me. Who, me? Eat your Cheetos?:rolleyes2: Maybe it was a mouse?

M maggiedemi I hate to tell you but the power goes out in the city too if a hurricane comes. A generator can keep you powered up though. The real trick is to know how to manage comfortably without electricity. It can be managed.:hugs:

Ohhhhh! Have to interrupt my responses to posts here. Got news coming in! Be right back.

I got news about dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 and Gypsy! They are back home from the vet and the vet was really good. She addressed all concerns and did all appropriate tests with very happy results. Gypsy has a normal white count now. Her kidneys were full but no tests showing a problem. She remains on the previously prescribed antibiotics , nausea meds and she was also given an appetite stimulant along with Gabapentin. Gypsy got home, ate, drank and went right to her new ( also newly located) litter box and went potty. :yess: She seems to feel much better now and is enjoying everything a kitty could desire. She is a very lucky kitty to have such a loving furmily. I will let her hooman tell all the information that came about as a result of the visit but it seemed to be a very good visit. This is why kitties need Hoomans to bring them inside. Sometimes they need a helping paw. Prayers and hopes from everyone must have helped! Thank you to everyone for all the good wishes, vibes, prayers and hopes for Gypsy to feel better and get well. She still has some follow up and to finish her antibiotics but she is sooooo much better than she was yesterday! I saw pictures of her at the vet and she is such a good kitty! Yay Gypsy! Keep doing everything you are doing! Yay dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Keep doing everything you are doing too! Clowder kisses to everyone for caring about this little rescue girl!

M maggiedemi Back to where I left off! Lol

No snow plows but we have mosquito trucks in some places. Lol

I wish I had taken a picture of the rain clothes now! Lololol Very efficient but not exactly beautiful unless you really need them! Warm and dry is stylish if you have been wet and cold.;)

Hmmmm. I wonder if Banjo knows about free shipping if you order more? Lol Oh no! Not telling her that! We could end up with a case of Cheetos and a case of temptations! No telling how much catnip would show up!

Lari Lari Dolly has something for you! Lol Sharing!

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 All weather gear! Yes! I try to keep a bit of everything too. You just never know what might come in handy. Around here we dress in layers. It can start out cold and by mid day be really hot. Mornings in a coat and afternoons in a tshirt! Lol
Banjo is a true geek. I know she let Cheetos dust on my phone! Web surfing and munching?
I don’t know who is worse about munching. Muffin rarely gets caught but Banjo gets caught a lot. Lol Muffin is usually a closet muncher. Who knows what goes on when the hooman sleeps?

Flybynight Flybynight Those lucky clover leaves must have helped! She is feeling better!

neely neely Gypsy refuses the baby food. She would not eat any of the dozens of things tried. Her hooman went shopping for everything suggested and more but that little cat nose just didn’t approve until after the vet visit. Now she has eaten. Yay!!! I will make sure that dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 sees your link for the prescription food.
Sending healing vibes, special thoughts and many, many hugs to Gypsy. :grouphug: Did you try some all meat baby food with no seasonings? That did the trick for Carleton when he had pancreatitis along with Urgent A/D from the vet.
Hill's Prescription Diet a/d Wet Dog/Cat Food

muffy muffy Your thoughts got through! Gypsy is doing better. Finally!

pearl99 pearl99 Agreed! Yay!!!!!!!!

tabbytom tabbytom We have good news now and I totally cracked up at cats in bikinis! I think Lady would want one with a little skirt but I can totally picture Thrasher in one like those! :flail:

Smile time? Maybe a little heart to heart talk with a feral to learn about love?
