DD is coming down next weekend. 😆

I ordered another jacket but it's being delivered here. It should get here before she does. I'll call the post office and ask them to return the one they wouldn't deliver. Let's hope they actually send it back to Kohl's and not to China. 😒

(The preteen ones too come to think of it. 😏)
Don't leave out the teens. I was in the kitchen cooking when Spawn 1 went to take a shower. He unzipped his pants, and I SWEAR I heard his hormones fizzing from across the house! There was the devil to pay, and no pitch hot for the next 8 years, till the younger one hit 20. Now that they are in their forties, they are both just delightful. Most of the time.

Perhaps it would have Been better to have a outside source Remodel your kitchen. Hindsight.
The idea of installing a new kitchen came from my daughters and their husbands. I was to choose and pay for the kitchen and its installation and they would remove the old kitchen and prepare the groundwork for the installation. We even decided who would paint the ceiling and hang the wallpaper. I cleared out the kitchen shortly after Christmas to give us 6 weeks before the kitchen would be fitted. Things were going fine - well, they still are but I seem to have lost a daughter and her husband has shown his true colors!

It is difficult to hire anyone from the building trade at the moment. After the floods last summer there is still so much to do that even the kitchen company is stretched to its limit. There are of course cowboy companies who make promises only to never turn up on time, or make such a bad job that it is better to do it yourself. Both my sons-in-law have prepared rooms for fitted kitchens in the past and were keen to do the work. When I do get the bathroom "done" it will be a "one company does everything" from removing tiles to fitting the new shower. I will have to wait till the construction companies have time on their hands and this will give me time to save up some cash 💰💰💰

Which of course she tried to eat. I guess eating is what you normally do in a high chair right? Makes toddler logic?
That's what my husband said! We have an end table in the basement maybe she could stand next to. Or wait until it's warm enough to go outside. She'd probably still try to eat the paint, though.

She's working on trying to walk backwards. I wish she'd take a small break from being a daredevil to work on saying a few words (aside from the sign for milk, which I see alllll day).

Floors! I am elated. Ever since I moved in nearly 18 years ago I have tried multiple products to clean my whole house hardwood floors and kitchen laminate - Swiffer wet jet, Boma wet jet and a few pour and wipe type cleaners and they all left streaks unless you went over the floor carefully with a towel and dried it. So I have been doing that with a water/vinegar mix. It’s just a lot of work. Today, I tried something new - Swiffer wet cloths for Wood floors - no towel drying needed and I have shine with no streaks! Love it when I find something that makes life easier

im hoping to see my friend but there are no guarantees if she will come over or not
Don't stress too hard over it. My best friend has been promising to come see me for the past two years...never does. I won't go see him because of the road he lives on (it will break my struts). We talk all the time and I figure we'll see each other when we do. It makes that time so much more special. He's still my best friend.

So I ordered the jacket from Kohl's late Saturday night. I also ordered a Ninja Hot & Cold coffee system. I've had my eye on it for a long time. They had it on sale. I also had my 30% off code and Kohl's cash. It ended up $100 less than the normal price. Come to mama. :jive:

I got an email from Kohl's this morning. The order is shipping now. Well Monday really. That's fine. I looked at the email and saw that UPS has the coffee maker. Then I looked further and guess who has the jacket. Yup. USPS. :rolleyes2:

I'm ok with it because it's coming to my house and my carrier will leave it on my front steps. He always does.

Outside painting is fun! I used to let my kids paint inside in their diapers because they always painted themselves. DS painted himself more than paper. I think they were older the first time we tried it though. Maybe 18 months. It seemed easier with DS because he wanted to do things because DD was. And he copied her. But that also comes with a side of proving himself now. Mom and I just had a conversation about younger siblings doing that. Apparently it never stops. :rolleyes2::lol:

My bestie and I rarely see each other in person and never talk. We text a lot. I’m more likely to see her if she’s watching my kids because I have an appointment! Its just how life is for us right now. One of my one time closest friends couldn’t handle it when life changed my availability. She needs to at minimum hear a voice to feel connected and kids being kids in the background were just too much. It’s better now that shes a mom too; she gets it. But for a few years our friendship of +20 years felt over. I think her exhusband fueled that a bit though. :rolleyes2:

I've not had a need for this but it maybe what your looking for. It's Called "Snow Joe" runs on a battery pack. I have a snowplow service contracted.
Placed my order for battery operated Snow Joe this morning, the least expensive battery option. I should, have it in a few days. And my son thinks that my electric snowblower isn’t totally dead, just in need of a new plug on the cord. So I might end up with THREE snow blowers in the garage.

You never know. Snowblowers are security when you live in Minnesota.
Especially if you live alone. We had a blizzard in 2010 and there was no way with my bad knees that I could have shoveled my driveway. I would have been snowed in for over a week. My driveway never got any sun and we had about 2 feet of snow. My neighbor and her husband did my driveway for me with their snow blower even though we did not always get along. My boss expected every one to come in the very next day but the federal goverment closed for a week so we got off too. It pays to be nice to your neighbors, especially when they have a snow blower.

Yes, no snowblower or a non working one can be a problem. We do have a lot of freelance snow plow drivers so if you can’t find a neighbor you can eventually find someone to plow you out for $50 or so but I feel so claustrophobic when I cant get out of the driveway. My large snowblower works wonderfully in most snow but it’s tiring at my height and age to use. Eventually I will contract with someone to plow the driveway the whole season but not quite yet.

My father just retired and had a plow put on his truck. They have a contract with someone to keep my grandmothers driveway and walk cleared. He could probably do it now; but his house is about 20 minutes away in good weather. He used to be out there driving my aunt to and from work (a nurse at the hospital) in the worst of weather before she retired. When he wasn’t working anyway. Up there I think most people have snow blowers even if you have a short driveway. Its worth it. Here we could go a few years not really needing it. We get away with just driving over it. But sometimes we get walloped so I’m glad my mom and stepdad have one for their driveway. They don’t have a house full of teenagers to help anymore. We had one storm that took 4 of us 5 hours to dig out from by hand. :cringe:

Actually I think I heard my cousin’s husband say they hired someone also. They both have jobs with the hospital and fire department. Their driveway is long long and they live on top of a valley. I’m not sure I’d even take the steep road to their house in the winter! But there’s no excuse when your that kind of essential. My aunt still manages it to get grandkids on the bus and to daycare! 😳 Its part of life there. The only part I miss is the sledding!

Cute!! Someone gave me a few things they’ve made and I love them!! Is it difficult?
Neat! These would make great gifts.
There is a bit of a learning curve but once you understand how to manipulate the felt with needles, it becomes relatively easy in my opinion. It's also fun and quick I'd say. If you've got a small project, you could probably knock it out in a few hours.

I hate how I'm holding things together, and still think I am as more and more little things pile up, and then I just completely lose it.

I feel so emotionally drained right now, and I was managing until I stupidly jostled J awake when she was almost asleep at nap time, and then she wouldn't fall asleep, so we tried again an hour later and she kept biting me and I yelled in frustration, so we finally went for a drive in the car so she slept about 30min, but wasn't really a break for me. And my husband offered to watch her a while, but he says this after he mentioned he had planned to work late tonight, so obviously I couldn't take him up on that if he needed to work. And since he needs to work, I can't do the cooking I planned, which means I have to figure out something for my child to eat, which is more emotional labor. And I should be playing with her and emotionally involved instead of on my phone, but without getting the mental break of naptime I just dont even want to which makes me feel like an even worse parent.

I love her so much, but I just want to be alone with no responsibilities right now.
