After our coldest night of the winter, it's already warming up, and is going to get above freezing by afternoon, however, the warmer temps are bringing flurries with it, so not sure if I'll get out walking today or not. Tomorrow looks good though.

It's freezing here. We get snow at night, then rain and sleet all day. I haven't been for a walk all week.

:sigh:

Doing lots of yoga though, plenty of core and arm balance routines to build up my snow clearing muscles.

You sound like the guy on the radio this morning, all excited that it was warming up to 30 degrees. I'm like get back to me when it hits 75!
Just my usual 2 hour indoor walk today. I have 2 headbands on my head today. I got the idea when I saw some thick hair Bandeaus. So I put 2 headbands together to see if that would keep my hair out of my face better. If it does, then maybe I will order a Bandeau.

J and I took a half hour walk today. It was in the 30s, so warm compared to how it's been, and bundled up it was really nice to get some fresh air.

Just my usual 2 hour indoor walk. I ordered 3 hair bandeaus. They were only $5 if you ordered 3 of them, so I did. We'll see if that keeps my hair out of my face. I got light gray, dark gray, and wine colored corduroy. The corduroy one sounds interesting, but only comes in 3 colors-- wine, teal, black.

My usual 2 hour indoor walk. This is my 4th week! I never thought I would get started again. For the next 4 weeks starting Monday, I might cut back to 1 hour and pick up the pace to get my heart rate up. 2 hours just takes up soooo much of my day, I don't have time to do anything else.

They look nice! If I'm going out for a walk and it's wet or windy I plait my hair like Wednesday Addams and wear a hat on top of it. Usually keeps it out of the way all day.

I walked for an hour on Thursday. It was very slippery, I was glad I'd worn my chain spikes over my boots. Still doing long yoga practices every day, but now I have the added challenge of a kitten trying to climb my arms and legs whenever I get my mat out.

Yikes! I've been doing outside walks on days I would normally stay inside, but you're way past me, if you're wearing chain spikes over your boots. I don't even do studded tires! There's just some types of winter weather that call for hibernating.

Can we see a pic of your boots with their chain spikes. :camera:

A pic of the kitten helping you do yoga would be nice too. ;)

What does plait mean? I don't wear hats, since most men who wear them all the time seem to go bald!
Where did you get the kitten? I don't remember you mentioning one.

Not sure if I will do 1 hour or 2 hour indoor walk today. We'll see...

We had snow overnight, and it was more than I thought, so ended up shoveling the driveway. And it was FREEZING out there.

I had to google to be certain, but Wendy Adams has braids, ergo plait = braid.

It may be just a coincidence, but it does seems to happen a lot, doesn't it.

Hibernating season goes on for so long here. It's a choice between getting all geared up for a walk, or getting cabin fever.

I got these ones. They're great, they've saved me from many a slip and tumble.

 I'll ask Mr H to take an action shot next time she's savaging me.

I thought that as men started to lose their hair they felt the cold more, so wore hats. A friend of mine lost a lot of her hair to post-partum alopecia after her daughter was born a few years ago. She wore some very stylish hats to cover it up and her hair has started to grow back in now.
Where did you get the kitten?
She was a gift from Santa! Someone left her outside of our vet's door in a cardboard box. The clinic was just about to close for the winter break and there were no staff that could look after her. Also she was a little feral beastie who bit the vet, so they called me and asked if I'd take her. She's much calmer and more friendly now. She's about 12 weeks old, I think. Her name is Kiji.

Yes, braids! I keep forgetting that's what you call them in the US and Canada. My hair is so long that if I braid it and put a woolly hat over my head I can put the ends of the braids into my jacket pockets, so it doesn't blow all over the place.

Otherwise I end up looking like Hagrid.

OK, first three lessons of the day are done and I have a long break before the next student. Maybe I should head out for another walk.

No outside walk again today, as it's still freezing. And probably none tomorrow either, as though it's going to warm a lot, we're gonna get a ton of rain. Crazy roller coaster winter weather.

Those boot chains are pretty impressive.

I decided to Google, and at first the answers were inconclusive. But then at Can Wearing a Hat Make You Go Bald? it says "Two studies of male and female identical twins did find a link between wearing hats and increased hair loss for the men, but not the women."

Interesting that the link was only with men, but then it's men who are more apt to go bald, and I have seen it a lot in men who wear hats all the time going bald. So I don't doubt it's more than coincidence.

Her name is Kiji.
She's adorable. :catlove: Looking forward to the pics of her savaging you whilst you do yoga.

I wonder how they got a feral cat into a cardboard box?...and why? She's so cute.

My hair is so long that if I braid it and put a woolly hat over my head I can put the ends of the braids into my jacket pockets
My hair used to be so long and thick down to my butt, until I got sick. Now it's really thin.

Two studies of male and female identical twins did find a link between wearing hats and increased hair loss for the men, but not the women."
Yeah, I lifted up a barrel once and no grass grew underneath it, so it makes sense...Maybe a bandana would be looser? Or a boat hat? Those are cute...

I downsized my indoor walk to 1 hour, but picked up the pace to keep my heart rate up. It worked out well, I like this better, it takes up less time and it's good to get the heart rate up, so I'll keep doing it. I have to keep reminding myself to pick up the pace, 'cause I just usually do a leisurely slow walk, pet the cats, drink a bottle of water, say my prayers, daydream, etc. Now I have to get serious and concentrate on my 1 hour and make it good.

Just my usual 1 hour indoor power walk. Gonna try to pick up the pace a bit and get my heart rate up. Probably do it from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

She's now learnt how to balance on me when I do Wheel Pose. No claws this time!
I wonder how they got a feral cat into a cardboard box?...and why?
No idea. I wondered if maybe she got trapped somewhere and separated from her mum. Anyway, I'm glad they decided to leave her outside our vet. She was completely unsocialized and full of worms, would have struggled to survive through the winter on her own. At least she's got a home now.
Yeah, I lifted up a barrel once and no grass grew underneath it, so it makes sense...
:spew:
Well, yeah. That makes sense. I mean, that's just science, right?

90 minutes of yoga yesterday. 30 minute power flow, one hour walk and 40 minutes of deep stretching today.
