Not going to lie I’m very scared I’ll push the syringe too hard and end up drowning these babies but yeah I’ll practice with some water first. Any tips would be appreciated, ive watched some videos like suggested but yeah any life hacks or tips around it. Thank you guys

Maybe look up the sponge method? You cut a makeup sponge to be shaped like a nipple and then drip milk on it while they suck. If they'll suck on it, that would reduce the chance of aspiration. At this age it's a little safer than trying to feed newborns, but there's still a risk.

Have you been weighing them every day? How much have they been gaining? Do they seem contented and round? Some kittens are naturally smaller. . .but they do seem a bit too small.

Ok thank you!

Also are kittens eyes supposed to be leaning outwards from each other when they're first opened? Like.. cross eyed...?

The medical term for it is strabismus (saying this so you can search it up and get the picture). They will outgrow it....right?

They keep moving their head away and playing around with the nip in their mouth. They are 3 weeks old today.

Try offering the milk in a very shallow dish, just enough to cover the bottom, not enough to reach their noses. At this age they may be capable of lapping milk and might prefer that to a rubber nipple.

When they taste the milk, do they act like they want more or do they seem to dislike the taste?

Some mother-fed kittens won't accept supplemental feedings at all. If they're not losing weight and seem generally healthy it might be ok to wait until they have teeth and then just start on solid food a bit earlier than usual.

How much, exactly, are they gaining per day?

Also, give some of the kitten milk to the mama cat. It'll give her the nutrition she needs while feeding babies and may boost her milk supply.

They’re gaining 5gs a day and sometimes loosing weight…. I’ll try the bowl but i highly doubt they’ll drink it, they don’t know how to..

Can I feed them with a syringe without a nipple¿ the only available nipples are the one i showed and dont think itll fit. I think the prob is the nipple is too big, peirced a hole and it wouldn’t drip with upside down and would only squirt when squeezed hard but im too scared to make any more holes. I also tried giving them the milk in a flat plastic plate but they were uninterested and wanted moms milk only..

Yes, you can. Its more difficult, but you can, as long as you yourself do it dropwise. OR if the kitten gets the ideas, and suckles off the syringe opening.

Have you tried with sponges for make up? it works for some.

Tried the sponge. Big fail. I gave mama some KMR, hopefully it’ll boost milk production. How do I syringe feed kittens with chokimg them since I’m not using a nip?

Corner of the mouth, dropwise. Train some first.

Yes, kittens are tummy down, head up, drop by drop in the side of the mouth - slowly and allow time for them to swallow and breathe in between.

Once they get accustomed to taking the milk from the syringe they may learn to latch to the tip of the syringe and suck the milk out on their own. Use a tiny 1 or 2mL syringe for now.

Alright I fed mama KMR and more wet food and she's feeding them more constantly. Now I see 3 week old kittens using the litter, eating a bit of wet food and walking around. My kittens aren't doing that. None of them learned how to walk yet (I don't think) and they're sleeping majority of the time. They're nursing well and they each gained 10+ grams a day for the first time but yeah they're very much acting like 2 week old kittens. They are 22 days old

They will progress at their own pace. As long as they are nursing well and gaining weight they should be okay.

Kittens do not normally use the litter until around 5-6 weeks when they begin to try soft foods. Yours are way too young yet.

All are underweight for 3 weeks, so they need time to catch up. They are the size of 2-week olds and should weigh 12 ounces at 3 weeks and a pound at one month. Continue feeding mom well so she produces high quality milk.

I think this might be a glitch in translation. . .but no needles! Just the syringe. A 1ml syringe will work but it'll be a bit tedious to refill. A 3ml or 5ml is what I've always used.
