The two repair / delivery men were here and just left. The freezer door is now less noisy. BUT they made a note on the paperwork that I should be given a brand new LG refrigerator. Aye aye aye!

The ongoing saga continues.

We didn't think Home Depot really wants to give us a new refrigerator. Himself spoke to someone at Home Depot, explained that the men are good at delivery but neither the two when it was delivered on Dec 29 or the two today appear to have any repair / service tech skills. Arrive, and leave a quickly as possible.

The freezer door doesn't make as much noise but closes poorly. The refrigerator door which was fine now closes less well.

The man at Home Depot has supposedly e-mailed an actual repair service today. And Himself should have an email from them within 24 hours.

What's good is that the freezer still freezes and the refrigerator stays chill.

Are we having fun yet? I have my doubts.

Refrigerators aren't the quality they used to be. 1 year ago I went through cooling issues as well. My new 3k Refrigerator of '16, decided It no longer wanted to cool, or freeze just leak water . So after several Repair visits, I gave up. Junked the old and bought a new different brand With extended warranty. . Happy wife Happy Life.

Do NOT even look at a Samsung! Or an LG for that matter. I heard a lot of good things about Whirlpool and GE on the FB site I hung out on.

We ordered our GE French door in June. It came in November. I know that some people ordered fridges as far as a year ago and still haven’t received them. But that was from smaller stores, not big boxes. You actually might find something at a Lowes, depending on what you want.

HINT: Buy a 5-year warranty. Fridges don’t last long anymore. I am serious.
My previous Expensive $3k+ GE Profile Refrigerator. Was nothing but a headache once it began acting up. I've since replaced It with a slightly less expensive Frigidaire with a extended warranty.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to. I’ve had my Kenmore washer and dryer since 1997, and I dread them going belly up.
Tobermory; My current Top load Maytag Washing Machine is a 1977 model. I purchased it from a neighbor for $25.00 in 1998, when they wanted a new one. I have had it worked on just once in 2001, when the drive belt needed replacement. My wife would like a newer model. But as long as this ones running I plan on keeping it.

I had a 1970s washer and dryer which were chugging along, but when we sold our house in 1997 (moving from Virginia to Utah) the buyers wanted them as part of the sale. “Sure!” we said. Otherwise, who knows? We might still have them!

We're still faffing around trying to have the issues with this f*cking refrigerator's doors taken care of. Himself said to go to the appliance store, order a refrigerator, and when it arrives in 6 to 18 months we get rid of this one.

Have you called the manufacture? When my new fridge went haywire and started dispensing water on its own I had no luck with the seller but the manufacturer arranged for a knowledgable repair person and since the product is under their warranty they are responsible.

We had an accident with our dishwasher a few years ago. We first went through the store and the poor guy was so overworked he was over 4 hours late and went from nice to short the moment he realized he couldn’t fix it. We went through the manufacturer next and that guy fixed it easily and knew what the first guy did wrong. So hopefully you can find someone else to fix it.

The guys who set up our first washing machine here switched the hot and cold lines. Of course it was a front loader so I couldn’t even tell until I went to pull out a load and everything was hot! :rolleyes2: They sent a guy who we eventually called for a dryer repair. Hes since retired unfortunately. But he knew what he was doing!

Someone from an actual repair service is supposed to come day after tomorrow, Friday.

And then Himself and I are going to the appliance store and order a new refrigerator. Don't care what it takes, 6 or 12 or 18 months.

Himself is prepared to have the appliance store take the LG away when they deliver. I suggested I offer it to the local food bank.

You haven't even had this thing a month!

I'd call Home Depot corp first and let them know what's going on with your brand new fridge. (I had a problem one time with Lowes over something I bought. Angered me to the point where I just went right to Lowes corp via email. They got things right and quickly) This is not good for Home Depot and they might be willing to help you. But you're going to have to go to the top. Squeaky wheel and all that. And tell them that your fridge is STILL under warranty and you haven't even had it long. Call or email. Better yet, call and follow up with an email.

If that doesn't work, go directly to LG.

I emailed LG customer support yesterday. No reply but it is not even 24 hours. It's not really an LG problem. It is damage caused by delivery men's incompetence at swapping door hinges from right to left.

At this point every time I go to take something out / put something in the refrigerator I'm unhappy. I don't think that will change even when / if the hinges are corrected tomorrow.

We had to replace our refrigerator, probably 3 years ago. We searched and the only kind we could find were huge (no room for it) or tiny. We finally ended up getting the same Whirlpool model we had before. I like it well enough, it does what it's supposed to do.

Glad to hear that your decision worked out. I made the mistake on '16 when the redesign of the kitchen was done to have a "Counter depth" Refrigerator. That limits your choices considerably.

I just couldn't see getting one of those giant refrigerators, and some of them have internet and what not. I just want something to keep my food cold. We had a warranty on the old one so Lowes refunded the cost of the new one. It's not counter depth, but not as much physical space as those big ones take.

I'm always afraid those will have more problems and cost more in the long run! More to break.

I had a great dentist appointment this morning! I had one scheduled last week but the weather was bad so it was cancelled. Normally it takes 4 months to get in there if something comes up. But with all the covid cases I was able to get in this week and before DH had to leave for work. My dentist herself did my cleaning (which probably means people are out of work too...) but she complimented how well my teeth were several times. I was having issues a few years ago and one of the hygienists there suggested using a kids size toothbrush. Since then; no issues! :yess: That might not be a big deal to some people; but I was so weary of trying to do everything right and STILL having issues. So to me; it's really a nice feeling!
Oops! Wrong thread, MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles !

The actual repair man came this afternoon. Near as he can figure out there should have been a bushing / spacer that never made it onto the hinge when it was moved from right to left. He ordered one. It will come directly to us. And he will be here next Friday to install it.
