what a horrible predicament for you. I don't understand why people have pets, if they can't be bothered to care for them. Unfortunately, I don't have any helpful advice to offer. Hugs...
Thank you. :)

Do they have trespassing laws there? Also, he damaged something on your property, that too is another violation.
I am quite sure there are but my husband is stopping me to take any action. This self - proclaimed cat owner is really something! I am sure his adult cat is not desexed, and I think the kittens belong to that adult kitten that has a blue collar. Maybe the owner thought it was a boy.

Bless you for filling empty bellies I'm assuming mama still isn't fixed? We have a local APL in town if you have one you could contact them and perhaps they could work on the idiot for the cats welfare. Are your local PD friendly? Maybe there is a law reguarding neglected animals. Probably not a good idea but sending a bill for the catio repair and the food would be right. Does your state offer free legal advice? He trespassed on your property. Hang in there. You know where to come to vent.
I am in a Gulf country. From the looks of it, there is not much going on here regarding animal welfare. And I also heard that the only shelter operating here would soon close its doors. I have to verify that. If true, then heaven help those animals.

Please take this to heart. That kitten and other kitties need your help but you must act with great care. You can only help them if you don’t cause the human to feel vengeful. He already broke in. Sometimes we have to use a bit of care and psychology. Attempt to work with him rather than fight him. Be pleasant and innocent. Compliment his kitties and let him know you had no idea that the kitties had a human. Tell him you know he must be a good person to love cats. I know this may or may not be true but trying to build love can work. However, fighting someone unbalanced is never a good idea.
Thank you for the advice. I have calmed down a bit, but I have not seen the guy since that afternoon. I am still feeding his cats. No matter how angry I was or still is, each time I see the cats begging for food, feels like a punch to the heart. So, what else is there to do, but feed the hungry.

I was quite amused last night when I got home. Marble the kitty was waiting for me at the front door. When I opened it, he came running to the house and straight to the kitchen where my cats' food bowls were. Even my own cats welcomed him by sniffing, like they were saying, "Where have you been?" He seemed a bit confused when I carried him back outside and fed him there. I was already attached to the little guy, and maybe he is also to me.

M maggiedemi So very happy to see you my dear friend! You have been greatly missed and we need you here. It lifted my heart to see you.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Please take this to heart. That kitten and other kitties need your help but you must act with great care. You can only help them if you don’t cause the human to feel vengeful. He already broke in. Sometimes we have to use a bit of care and psychology. Attempt to work with him rather than fight him. I know this may or may not be true but trying to build love can work. However, fighting someone unbalanced is never a good idea. Convince him that treating the kitties well makes him the hero. Hard to bite your tongue? Yes. Definitely. We only do this in order to keep all kitties safe until he tires of them….. and he probably will. He already allowed you to feed one cat. He is very likely to let more and more of their care come into your hands. In the meantime, see if you can find another location to slip them away to when he loses interest. You must be very careful to do this without him feeling you are taking from him. He may be the kind of person who mistakenly thinks they want to run wild and without proper care. “Just cats.” Sadly, some humans do think that way. I have had more than one cat turned over to me voluntarily by a person who first refused to let go. I understand how trying this is and how much it puts worry in our pocket. I also know that you don’t want him to spirit them away or cause them ,or your cats, harm. Patience. Bring out the deepest patience you can find and put on your friendliest face in spite of what you know. It is only slightly possible to educate someone who breaks in but not impossible. Perhaps he felt “his” kitten was stolen. People often claim cats as property. We all know that is not right but he may need to learn that. Attempt to , very carefully educate, and if that does not work, the fact that he sees you respected “his property” and did not try to steal it away may help later. Give it a chance. While you work to build a bridge to save the cats, you can look for help. Look for a home to help them disappear legally. Tread carefully and put your anger into patience. He must not ever feel a need to blame you or turn on your catio again. Perhaps an alarm of some sort is possible? Unfortunately, this kind of situation can be part of rescuing too. The end goal is to preserve life and provide the best we can. Do that and more can come later. My heart is with you more than I can possibly convey. Been there and beyond.

My brother survived the surgery today. Considering everything he had to overcome, this is huge.

I saw a new eye specialist and am hopeful for a new path. Still waiting for labs on my foot.

I have a lead on a home for Surely and Marcus. Remains to be seen. Have been trying to help someone with a cat search without walking. Armchair search. Way too much going on to relay and some that is better not relayed.

As for cat supplies, a friend feeds many and she has begun mixing canned chicken and rice in with dry food to stretch the budget. Where she lives, Canned chicken for humans is more available to her than canned cat food right now. We do the best we can. I am finding short supplies too Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose Prices rising. A lessser quality food may be the need right now but maybe you can add cooked white rice with a bit of cooked chicken to stretch it and keep it tasty. I know this is not what you choose but better than empty tummies. If the cats are hungry, they will be grateful for anything offered. Rice can still be bought in big bags. I know that is not ideal but ….. let’s hope things will improve for us all. I believe! I believe! :hugs:

Thank you everyone! Happy Gotcha days to Ruby and Gracie!!!!

I am guarded! Lol

This shift consist of…..unusual mix! Lolololol

💝 Great news regarding your brother🙏 💗 Hope you receive good news about your foot and the new eye Dr is fantastic.💞Some great looking nurses you got watching over you 😸
💕I'm glad you felt well enough to advise dear Maria Bayote Maria Bayote , I knew you would have levelheaded words of wisdom for her. I've never really had to learn to bite my tongue and therefore tend to fly off the handle. Gypsys fur dad keeps me calmed down when I want to unload on some of the annoying neighbors. Just inconsiderate stuff, nothing as dire as some occurrences I've read about on here. 🤯

That says it all. ❤🙏

fighting someone unbalanced is never a good idea.
Yes, you will never win! They have crazy/evil on their side & don't care what they do to you. :devilish:

how trying this is and how much it puts worry in our pocket.
Sure would love to have pockets empty from worry! 👍

I love your life metaphors. They are always so fitting. Rescue equals= Keep surviving. Get what you need. More will come later. ;)

I'll have to see if my cats like rice. We always have some in the fridge.

There's my little Muffin Spice Cake. 😍

Jcatbird Jcatbird I am so glad your brother made it out of the surgery okay. Still saying prayers 🙏 for him and for you with your eye and foot issues. Hang in there. Everyone here is so happy to hear from you. Many care for you here at TCS. :alright::grouphug::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump:

Thank you for your thoughtful reply about the cat food shortages. I will probably have to start cooking for the cats. Rice is a very good filler. Better then empty tummies. I am keeping my 🤞that this supply shortage situation improves soon and we get back to normal. 🙂

For dinner tonight, I made instant noodles and usually I'll put two regular eggs in them and tonight I had a surprise. One of the eggs is double yoked :p So I had three yokes from two eggs, one big and two small. How about that?

When we had our chickens, and were selling the eggs, we had to candle each one make sure there was no embryo developing inside, and every so often we would see an egg with a double yolk. How did we candle them? Take a shoe box and cut a hole in the top slightly smaller than an egg. Put a small light bulb inside and you're in business. I'm sure there were and are commercial versions, but that's what we used.
