That's ok. Bless you for getting the poor kitty to safety. Yes if it's a federal crime then they should be able to cross state lines to catch them rather than leaving them free to do it again!
And if its not a federal crime it should be.
How's your flea situation?

It was my nephew of all people. Never thought he'd grow up to be one of those people. I did give him a good scare and kept telling him they were out looking for him and I was doing my hardest to help them find him. I also told him if he ever came back they would pick him up. Doubt he will ever come back here because he owed to many people money. He always complained about how his father lived like that. His step mom had a dog and let it poop all over in the house and his mother (my sister) was the same way. Left her animals behind to take off with a married guy and he thought that was awful and yet he did the same thing.

Well, fleas are an equal-opportunity pest; seems like all types and classes of people can get them. I'm still resisting calling in an exterminator and seeing fewer, but definitely still seeing some. Not sure if I'll be able to eradicate them all myself or not... It's a nightmare!

It took me 3 months before all the fleas were gone. It was a lot of work vacuuming and rewashing everything and then respraying but I did it this way because it was the safest for my cats. Right now my house is over run with fruit flies. :runaround: Googled water traps work so I made one on the kitchen counter. Was thinking of buying a flame thrower from Amazon. Figured it would work much better and faster. :fireblob: I'm sticking to cupcakes, cookies ect from now on. No chance of fruit flies that way.

Red wine traps work wonders for fruit flies. Or just some water with sugar.

Thanks, I've been using applesauce in water and water in the empty cat canned food cans. They work but not that great. I will give the sugar/water a try. Might have to buy some red wine depending on how that works.

Also, white vinegar works well if you have it on hand. Plus it's cheap. And cats won't touch that for sure 🐱
I live in Sicily, fruit fly wonderland so I have little bowls of it out on a kitchen shelf quite often...they go in and don't come out :)

I have a gallon of white vinegar. I use it for cleaning. Two of my cats have asthma so I started using that instead of store bought cleaners. I'm going to give that a try. The sugar water didn't work. When I was a kid we would get those tiny ants on the kitchen counter and my mom would want to burn the house down. Ants I can deal with and even fleas but not fruit flies. I have lots of holiday baking to do and I have to let the icing on the cookies dry over night before packaging them. I know the fruit flies will land on them for sure and fruit fly covered Halloween cookies won't look so appetizing. :runaround:I am going to put a bunch of vinegar bowls out now.

It takes a bit to get them. You'll have to leave whatever you choose out for more than a few hours.
It's not a quick solution but it'll get rid of them. Try the vinegar or red wine and see how that goes?

My counter is covered in different dishes with different ingredients. Nothing is really working so I ordered fruit fly traps on Amazon. Never knew there were such things.

Fruit flies would be a walk in the park compared to fleas, those blood-sucking devils. No contest in my book! If only little bowls of vinegar set out would eradicate fleas, we'd all save our sanity and a whole lot of money.

Fleas are easier to get rid of for me. So far everything I have tried..including bought fruit fly traps...nothing has worked. Seems my fruit flies are very smart and with me trying to get Holiday baking done the fruit flies have to go. ..some how
