It's been 7 years since Emily and her 4 six-week old kittens arrived. No one claimed her, probably because allowing an intact cat to roam outside without a tatoo or chip would mean having to pay a fine.

The kittens looked exactly like their mother and at 3 or 4 months old found new homes. Emily had no such luck - she was a very unfriendly cat but attached herself to me. Christmas 2014 she started to spend time with the rest of the family and the other cats. She avoided all visitors and still makes a swipe at anyone (human or cat) who gets too close to her comfort zone.

Not an easy cat - and now, with early-stage kidney disease, a dreadful patient. I am trying to do my best for her but we are not good for one another. She senses my nervousness which makes her even less compliable. I suffer when she insists on sleeping on my stomach - but I feel so sorry for her! Fortunately she does not want to spend the whole night with her full weight on my chest.

Here is her 7th Gotcha-Day photo - taken this afternoon when she took her afternoon nap on my bed after her mid-day snack. Today, it was a special treat - boiled chicken breast!

Happy Gotcha-Day, Emily - please believe me, I am not trying to poison you - you can eat the food I give you, it will do you good.
There is no need to steal from the other cats. 💖

Happy gotcha day Honeybun! Still so glad the stars aligned & we found eachother :)

First pic is the day i got her, right after i got her home-getting her there had been an ordeal, so i put her in the downstairs bathroom with some food. & water & just left her alone for an hour so we could both chill out a little. After 30-40 mins i started to hear little "rrrow rrrrow?" Meows, so i checked on her and she was so happy to see me, i said the heck with it and decided it was ok to let her have the run of the house, but before i did i snapped this pic :)

Bat pic is a few days ago, enjoying her Halloween bat tunnel :)
