The transdermal mirtazipine can take 8 hours before it works.
Oh, ok, they didn't tell me that. Thank you SO much❣
That's good, I'll probably offer food around 5-5:30, so should be good.🤞🙏
I just peeked in a few xs earlier & he's finally sleeping! I just hope he sleeps through the night too❣🙏

Thank you. Yes, I know, I really feel like I just can't catch a break with kitties!! Something major with every single one now!
You remember, Angel, lymphoma,
Sammie, carsanoma, & now this!

I mean.........:thud:Especially not being financially equipt for any of it!! Being a one income household is tough! It took me almost 2 yrs to find a place I could afford, & I'm not even supposed to have pets, so that's another bk of my brain stress. I'd gladly pay the non refundable $200 .. basically free $! But an extra $25/ mo. On top of that. I know my rent is going up when I resign in March, & don't want that to be/ can't afford another $25 on top of that! Considering around that time, telling them & paying, & asking if the increase can also be for pet, not more on top of, but don't know if they'll do that, & afraid to say anything.🤷 If so, that'd be $50 extra/ month!! (& There's only one client I can go up on price with that's due after a few yrs & some Reno's that increased my work some, but are my best clients, supportive, so only plan to increase by like $15 because they are biweekly, & on long months, are sometimes 3xs & want to keep them!)
Why don't you start a Go Fund Me page to help get you over this hump? Even if only your TCS friends contribute, it would help. If you can restore your savings, you could maybe afford the extra rent. Let us know. I would be glad to help.

Kitties who need you find you. It's karma. They know you will go the extra mile.

Thank you. A friend suggested that too, but everything has been such a whirlwind, I hadn't really had time to sit & take time to do that. Yes, anything would help, but increased rent will be long term & on going. At least with the big bill, care credit will be interest free for 6 months. I hated to ever have to use it again! Took me so long to pay it off!
I already told my family, I don't need anything for Christmas, just $ to put on paying that.
I'll try to take time to write up a GoFundMe later, or tomorrow.
Thank you.❤

Thank God it comes in a transdermal form now. I had to give my cat pills when when she stopped eating and four times she threw up a few minutes later.
Aww, yes, I've had to pill with the cerena (sp? been a few yrs!) My last two w/ cancer.
luckily, they didn't throw up though.

I like the Go Fund Me idea. When you are that deep in debt, any amount of money donated is something to be thankful for. Make sure people know it is for Panther's care, not housing, so they will want to donate money for a cat recovering from an amputation.

Yeah, the gabapentin is 2xs/ day, so going to give that when I take my bp meds (2xs/ day) at 9 & 9, so it's a good reminder/ easier to keep up with. Then the appetite stim & antibiotic in the am. Man, he's going to be pissed at me! Such an independent, athletic outside guy, now having to stay inside, & have all this given to him.

Yes! I'll also give my vets info, so donations can be made directly there as well, if easier for some.

Good luck! 🙏

BTW I love Panther's setup in the bathroom. It is encouraging to know he sleeps and lets you give him medications.
Thank you! I thought that'd be the best place, since right off/ in my bedroom, so I am near & can hear him over night. ( Good & bad..). and since I don't use that shower in there because it's way small! That's where the big pk of toilet paper lives, & have a tall osculating fan in there that theres no closet rm for. Lol!

Oh kelly, I am so sorry you are going through all of this. I really am.. I have a saying... because of my girl, Pumpkin--diabetic, Artie (soul-kitty)-IBD, megacolon, etc.. and now Geoffrey (current)-- anxiety, vomiting... The saying goes: "God truly knows who toggle these special kitties to"...
I firmly believe that.

Can you get Panther designated as an Emotional Support Pet?? All you you have to do is have a doctor, hopefully therapist, psychiatrist, write a letter stating he is your ESA....
They cannot evict you for that... You may have to pay the extra fee, but they cannot give you a hard time about keeping Panther in your apartment.

I had that done with Artie and Geoffrey. It was never an issue with Artie, plus I never paid a pet fee.
With Geoffrey, I am allowed one small Pet in here...

Panther cannot find a better Mom.. I mean it... you have days when you are pulling your hair out but... believe me. It is worth it..

God has a strange sense of humor, sometimes... Yes, Angel, Sammy, and now Panther... but, he is giving you what you need: love, a sense of being needed and again, LOVE...

It is going to be touch and go for a long while, but I honestly cannot think of a better person for Panther to be with....

Anytime.. I am here for you.... I really am...

Love.....:redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Also, with any mirtazapine---appetitie stimulant, there can be side effects. I gave oral to both Artie and Geoffrey... hyperactivity, hyper-vocalizing, pacing... etc...
If this happens, at least you know what is causing it.

I have exactly the same toilet paper holder in my bathroom.

I told a vet tech about it. She confirmed what I had read earlier: that cats tend to vomit like that specifically with mirtazapine (which I like calling meowsapine because it made my cat sound like a Siamese for two days).

Oh gosh! I hope not!!! Don't need that!!! Especially in a building of only 4 & thin walls, etc...! Hopefully the gabapentin will keep him chill. 🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏

Meowsapine begins to lose its effects after the second day. The key is do not stop and then restart it. If you do that, Panther will bother neighbors for the next two days again. This is assuming he has the same side effect my cat did when she took meowsapine. Two days of hearing the word meow too many times was worth it to see my cat turn into Cookie Monster, quadrupling her normal food intake.

Yes, anything would help, but increased rent will be long term & ongoing.
Kelly, don't be afraid to raise your rates. The cost of everything has shot up this past year due to COVID. Even SS is giving a large increase. Raising your rates by 10 to 15% is not out of line, and you deserve it.

Thanks, but everyone else is to new, ( not been with me even a yr, or already had increase in the past yr.) Plus, definitely can't afford to lose anyone over it.

The stimulant seems to be helping. Got him to eat almost...half?? Of a 3oz can. The trout & catfish. When he stopped after just a few licks, I'd add more nutritional yeast & he'd eat more. Im just so happy he ate a decent amount. Now I'm about to eat before 8 for the first time this WK!! Got to soak in the tub a little bit too! Definitely needed that small exhale! He put himself bk in the crate after eating. 😊👍 time for mommy to try to relax now.
