Good news - I needed to get a urine sample from Carleton for the vet. They gave me a special litter kit that's supposed to make it easy but he would have nothing to do with it. :nono: He literally stepped in his litter box and promptly walked out looking at us as if to say, "hey, what are you guys doing to me?" I realized the reason he wouldn't use it was because the litter kit did not fill up the entire box like the normal amount of litter. I called the vet back and told them I needed at least 3 kits, (not one). They told me it wasn't necessary but I politely insisted and voila it worked today!:yess: Even better, his UA was in the normal range.

That’s very good to know (in addition to knowing that Carleton’s urine results were okay :) ). My cats have refused that stuff, too. If I have to do it again--and I will--I’ll ask for more of it.

When I used to have to get samples for one of my cats I would fill the litter box with cheap tiny plastic beads from Michaels.

Boone can't sleep and purr at the same time. But that is how I know when he's fallen asleep. The purring suddenly stops.
Lola has a loud, continuous purr when she is happy and when apparently she is sleeping. My former girl was like that and could purr for hours as we were sleeping. When she was younger it used to drive me crazy and keep me awake at night.

Turning 50 yesterday wasn't the worst thing to ever happen in my life... but I'd still rather be 35.
Tell me about it! Even my old driver's license picture makes me look younger and we all know how those pictures turn out.
P.S. Happy Birthday and many more! :jive:

Today's positive - The vet called with Carleton's urine test results and everything looks good. :happycat: Since he was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism earlier this year he's scheduled to have the I-131 treatment in late Nov. so he has to pass all the bloodwork, x-rays and urine analysis.

Happy birthday klunick klunick ! :bday:

At my last birthday I had a memory come up from when I turned 30 where I was saying something about how I still didn't *really* feel like an adult around other adults. But now? Deffinitely feel like an adult. And people in their 20s look like infants.
I have a big zero birthday coming up next month and I most definitely feel like an adult. Having trouble with that ”senior” or worse “elderly” thing though.

My dad remarried a few years ago and I think he was concerned a bit how people would take their age difference because hes 14 years older than his wife. She could have been my babysitter as a teen. But I told him age is just a number at this point. It didn’t even cross my mind as a question till he said something. Now if she had been my babysitter and just turned 18 or something that would have been more noteworthy. The only “weird” part is that her younger siblings kids are the same age and younger than mine. So he has nieces and nephews younger than his grandkids.

My SIL got married young and is five years older than my husband. So even though they didn't have kids right away, J's cousins on his side are 17 and 12. It is what it is!

Speaking of J, my positive is that she did a good 5+ hour stretch last night!
