Bought some Blue Buffalo Tastefuls to use as overnight snacks for Boone and Gracie. I'm thinking that was a bad idea. Gracie + Tastefuls =🚽 Soon after waking up the next morning, she has the squirts. Not full on diarrhea but a tad with very loose formed stools (and an audible sound at the beginning  ). I plan on going to Petco after work to pick up some Weruva that isn't currently in our rotation.

The baby's been giving me longer stretches of sleep at night again after weeks of being up approximately every two hours, which should be good, but now I've got a clogged duct on the right side. Hopefully I can get it out today.

I'm not looking forward to weaning if this is what it's going to be like!

Yay for sleep!! :banana1:

I don’t know if it’ll be different because I stopped at 5 weeks but I weaned off pumping over the course of a week and it wasn’t bad that way. Maybe you can pump to help with that process? I never fully dried up between my kids though. It took years for that last little bit after DS! My OBGYN said its normal. :dunno:

I got DS his first coffee today. 🤪 I only let him have like 3oz and I asked for extra cream and hazelnut flavor. He liked it! DH said coffee relaxed him as a kid and my friend used to giver her daughter a little right before preschool. DS has never been a hyper kid but he’s been really difficult about doing school work this week. My mother took DD on a field trip; so I figured why not try it? So far he’s playing a board game by himself and seems completely unaffected. We’ll start math in a few minutes. Pray for me. Wish me luck. Something! It’s been hard.

Ha, I'm shopping and I noticed a lot of the pet foods say "with real farm-raised chicken!" Um, where else would chickens be raised? I don't think pet food chickens are being raised in someone's apartment, lol.
Unfortunately most chickens are raised under industrial conditions - never seen daylight let alone a farm in their miserable short lives.🐔😢

I know; I've seen plenty of poultry confinements. That's a farm though (in the US anyway; there are no chickens in the food supply that aren't raised in confinements unless you get them at a farmer's market or boutique butcher for $$$). I'm sure "farm-raised" is one of those meaningless descriptors like "natural" or "hormone-free" that looks good but means nothing.

It just amused me to think about other places chickens may be raised. It still does actually. Where else? The bathroom? A library? Hehe.

ETA: ah, yep, found it:
"As far as I know it doesn’t have a specific definition. All chickens and animals raised for food production are raised on a farm of some sort, whether it’s large, small or in between."

I think the fact that I verge on an oversupply is my biggest issue. I used the heated back massager on it before the last time I fed J and it seems to be doing a lot better for now.

I don't plan on kicking her off anytime soon since she's hopefully getting covid antibodies, but as she eats more solid foods I know she's going to start nursing less so hopefully it'll be very gradual.

Will you consider extended nursing? At least over 1? I know my cousin went a bit over 18 months with her first. I haven’t met her 2nd because of covid. But it seemed like a more gradual process that way. He just kind of gave it up himself. He got suck often at daycare so I think that encouraged her to keep going too.

That's been my plan, especially as I don't know if she'll have outgrown her dairy intolerance yet. I don't think I'll let her keep going until kindergarten, but I'm not going to kick her off right at a year either. Hopefully it'll slowly go down to like twice a day, then once a day, then done.

There could be a second baby by then anyway and it won't matter!

Staying home with Gracie. For the last 3 days, about 10-15 minutes after getting up, she has had diarrhea. First two days were mostly loosely formed stool with a bit of diarrhea at the beginning. Today was full on diarrhea. Afterwards she is ok.

Tried booking an appointment but none available until mid-October. Just going to watch her all day since I don't get to do that normally.

She is eating well and behavior is normal so I am at a loss. Thought it might be the Blue Buffalo Tastefuls I was giving them for overnight snack but they got their normal food last night and this morning was the worst episode.

Well, klunick klunick , it generally takes about 18 hours for something like that to fully clear the system, so it might still be that, the last of it working its way out! I'll light a candle for her!

Been going on 3 days. Before and after the Blue Buffalo so I don't think that is it. What is weird is how it is immediately after waking up in the morning and it only happens once that I am aware of.

I added this to my upcoming Chewy order to see if it keeps her (and Boone's) gut in check.
