Sorry but I can't book a vet atm because of covid restrictions in australia
I have an antibiotic, should I feed her that? I have enough to give her 25mg daily for 2 weeks or so
She kinda weaned her kittens but she's so skinny (I can sea her two hip bones) she needs to gain some weight. I hate not to give her the food she wants to eat but the diarrhea makes me relunctant to give her wet food
Also her stool is more frequent than before. She used to go poo only once a day in large amount but now she goes 3-4 times a day

I guess she is weaning them. It looks almost as if she doesn't want them to be around her anymore though. And as for kittens diarrhea, Idk the kittens, all of them use to have perfect solid stool, but after I've given them large amount of scrambled egg one day to compensate their mom not giving them milk at their request, they started to have soft to liquidy poo and it stays pretty much the same til now even though its been 3 days since they had eggs 😔
It might be parasites because they do have flease on them but I cant really give them treatments because theyre too young (although they are all around 600g some over 700g in weight) And vet I cant go before restrictions in australia ease

She is not well. What antibiotic do you have?

What are the vet restrictions in your area?

I have amoxicilin and I can't go anywhere outside 5km of my address and there are no vets nearby

Geez … sorry about your restrictions.

The amoxicillin dose for cats is 5mg per pound of body weight 2X per day, so 25 to 30mg twice a day for 7-10 days may help if it is bacterial infection in the liver.

Do you have anything like pedialyte in Australia? If so, you may want to mix a couple of tablespoons daily into her wet food. It is an electrolyte solution that is very helpful.

As far as the kittens go, do not give them any more people food. They probably each need a round of metronidazole. It cures parasites as well as other bacterial intestinal infections. Do you have any way to get metronidazole? If not, they will benefit from the electrolyte solution as well in the meantime.

When might you be able to see a vet?

Yeah I know it sucks. Can't wait til it lifts. The authorities are saying when x2 vaccination rate reaches 70%, likely mid october but they always changes words
But my cat recovered from diarrhea so might not have to go anyway

Sorry for keep attaching disgusting photo but for the reference.. I'm quite happy even tho its disguting because of less mess
I stoped feeding her fancy feast and fed her different wet food with low fat high protein content (2.5%fat 19%protein) and then her stool came out solid and also she pooped only once
Maybe fancy feast is not a very good food choice
(I bought like 50 cans on sale to give her while she's nursing and to babies until they can eat dry food.. it might all go to waste though as I won't be feeding it to her nor the kittens)
Not sure if the poo still is orangish but looked dark to me
Do you still think she should be on amox?
The picture might look more orangish because my light globe in room is warm white not cool white so lighting is makes it look yellowish

It looks part brown and part orange. If it continues to be formed and is brown, hold off on the amoxicillin. You would only want to use it if absolutely necessary and it seems not so now.

Fancy Feast is a well known brand and one that I have used for years and continue to use daily, BUT, you may have acquired a bad lot, or it just may not agree with your cat’s system, so I think NOT feeding it to mom or kittens is a good idea. Also, it depends what flavor it was and whether it was pate, shreds, grilled, etc. Just be done with it.

How are the kittens’ stools? Getting any better?

Do you think I got the bad bunch? I checked the best before and it was til 2023 so I bought many.. I bought the only kitten flavour there is in australian supermarket, which was ocean tuna with milk. It looked so rich in fat so I thought it would help the mom gain weight quickly but guess too much fat has upset her digestive system
Same goes with kitten, they all had puree like stool when they had it
Now they are on kitten kibnle only with36%protein content and 2 of white kittens have solid stool but others still have under formed stool
I give them chicken breast from time to time to help them have solid stool

Ugh, fish is the worst. They need only chicken or turkey flavors at this point. Fish is bad for them. That may be the problem. No more fish. Just chicken food or human boiled chicken with only salt. Stick with chicken only food and they should be okay.

But I don't think its so much fish or chicken problem because the other food I switched to was also fish (tuna) but it had much more protein content
I think the problem was the amount of fat content in fancy feast
