The weights are excellent for less than 24 hours old. They all weigh close to four ounces which is what they should weigh at one week. The milestones are 8 ounces at 2 weeks, 12 ounces at 3 weeks, and a pound at one month.

Unless a kitten does not gain for more than a day or loses, there is no need to supplement.

One of your other "followers" I'm certain will answer the question as I've never dealt with issue before. I can only tell by various entries you've made, you are doing the very BEST you can caring for Salem and new babies !

Weights are good and yes, you can gently flea comb the kittens.
I flea combed the kittens as best I could and sadly there were fleas but only one and on one of the bigger boys, I will flea comb them daily like I do the others.

I Would also like to add that I found out recently Squirt is also pregnant. I noticed her belly getting bigger but I figured it was just because she was hogging all the food because she was. I didn't sign up for two litters but here we are, Judging by the fact that we got Tigger neutered before I made this thread I would say she is also pretty close to the end of her pregnancy and I confirmed it by looking at her nipples and I remember seeing them close to when we took them in and they were so small and now they look close to Salem's nipples. Some might say I should have known but she is semi-feral and didn't really feel comfortable when I got too close to her to inspect her for a while, now she is much better and that might be because of the pregnancy but she rubbed up on my legs for the first time today while I was petting her. She is constantly surprising me and trusting me more, not too long ago she would kinda duck when I would try to pet her and like slither out of my hands, now she pushes against my hand when I pet her and fully lets me do it. Now the good thing is I have been feeding them all what I feed Salem so Squirts kittens are getting enough nutrients thankfully. I do think I am gonna set up a go fund me soon in hopes that it can cover some of the vet costs considering I have a second unexpected litter coming soon. Pray for me :hearthrob: :hearthrob: :hearthrob:

Some more pictures of the kittens! -

Wish I there was more I could do but I will definitely hold you up in prayer. I think the "Go Fund Me" idea is a good one. At least try !!!
In you plea for financial assistance, just be straight-forward in your request for aide to care for these precious babies plus for spay/neuter aide for those 6-months and older.Don't be shy, God's creatures are worth it and HE gives us dominion to do good on their behalf. I am so proud of your devoted efforts to do good, you're committed, it is obvious. So, now Squirt becoming a mama will also be in your constant care so your plate is FULL. Maybe regarding the flea issue you could go ahead and warm water with Dawn daily soap bathe and carefully dry kittens so to protect them from fleas ? Bet Salem would be fine with it the way you've described her disposition as you move and touch babies thus far. Don't want to risk tiny babies with infections, illness due to fleas biting and sucking them. If you set up "Go Fund Me", will TheCatSite allow you placing link here so followers here can contribute ?

I don't know if I would be allowed to post a Go Fund Me link here but I will definitely create one! I don't know if they are old enough to bathe them yet but when they are I will definitely do so.

Would I have to make a new thread in the S.O.S forums to post a Go Fund Me link or am I allowed to post it here? It's not something I need donations for right this moment as they are about 3 days old now and Squirts litter is still in her but I will definitely need assistance in the near future for vet costs with two litters close to the same time. I wouldn't wanna get in trouble for posting it so I will wait till a staff member gives me the go-ahead.

You would post in SOS but can link this thread in your new post.

Definitely do NOT bathe the kittens any time soon.

Squirt’s kittens will be in good hands with you! 😻

Not certain what the rules are for posting here so would definitely ask first before posting link for Go Fund Me info.No matter what would definitely let people know here when and under what user name you establish GFM account so we can contribute. As long as I'm here, would like to say regarding the fleas if they continue posing a problem, possibly WITHOUT Dawn soap or any product fragrance whatsoever, my hubby said maybe to merely bathe kittens in pure water while being careful to keep heads above water - you could drown the fleas that way if it came right down to it. That way, Salem won't smell soap and you could get away with it while kittens are so young. Just saying in addition to flea comb treatment that may avoid any possible infections.
