Sore in the corner of my kittens mouth

Hi, first post here, but I had a question. Yesterday I noticed my 18 week old male had started to get a tad swollen so I made it a point to keep an eye on it. Today it seems to be a bit more swollen. As you can see there isn't any dark redness and almost resembles a pimple. It doesn't seem to bother him much. He eats, drinks and plays like nothing is wrong. If it's just a pimple it will run its course but I wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks in advance for your advice/opinion!

Welcome to The Cat Site! The thread above has a pic of a young cat with a very similar appearance to your boy. In her case, the vet decided that it was feline eosinophilic granuloma which is an allergic reaction to something. This can be quite broad ranging to narrow down. Another member in the same thread suggested a rodent ulcer, which has nothing to do with contact with rats. Rodent ulcers are also an allergic reaction to any number of things.....fleas, food, plastic or rubber bowls (get rid of those if you use them), environmental pollutants, cat litter, etc. The only problem with this is that if you don't resolve it, assuming that it is from one of the two causes mentioned (although we can't be sure or diagnose your cat), there will be worse skin damage and ulceration. I would try to get an appointment at the vet to have it checked out.

Thank you for weighing in. Decided I'm going to make him an appointment just be on the safe side. It does strike me as possibly being a pimple. It looks like there may be a head to it but that would have to be resolved by a vet too. Appreciate you taking the time!
