Good morning! :wave3:

Rick and I were talking about greeting cards this morning. I know, the stuff that we talk about some times.... We no longer send out cards for anything, except deaths in a family. No birthday cards, no Christmas cards, not anymore. I stopped doing it a couple years ago. I got to the point where I didn't enjoy it anymore. Many of our friends no longer send out cards; I guess it's more of a hassle than anything. I usually text people a Happy Birthday, or, for my family, we'll do dinner or something. My sister and I will give something small to each other. We both like Chinese, so we like going out for Chinese, just she and me.

Do you send snail mail greeting cards? For what occasions? Do you mail out Christmas cards?

I send out 'year in review' photo collage postcards for New Year's--though last year it was tough to come up with enough photos since we didn't do anything all year and it will be similar this year. :lol2:

I buy birthday cards for the grandkids to put in with their gifts but phase that out as they get older.

Instead of sympathy cards, I recently started having a tree planted in national forests in memory of people who have passed and that organization sends a card to let the recipient know.

I send Yule cards to fewer than 15 people, but I do send them and have no plans on stopping. I send my best friend birthday, Samhain, Yule, Twelfth Night, and Mother's day cards. I send postcard invitations for Twelfth Night to the few people that are invited.

This all reminds me that Zazzle should be having their card sale soon and Pure Art should have "The Moon's Daughter" cards and books will be in stock soon (on the 12th)! Yeah! The Pure Art cards are expensive, so I only get certain people those ones, and I wanted to get the book series for one of my nieces.

I send birthday cards to my brother and sister-in-law because they get their feelings hurt and refuse to speak to me for weeks if I don't. You'd think they were seven instead of in their 70s. I also send maybe five or six Christmas cards primarily because people send them to me. But I always send a Christmas card to a lovely lady who's 97 now--a friend of my parents--just to let her know I'm thinking about her.

I was a big card person for years, but I just got sick of it and decided to reduce my card giving. I just think cards are sort of a waste. They are looked at once and put to the side collecting dust.

While I still do cards for Christmas, I do e-cards for Birthdays. For events like Weddings and Bridal and Baby Showers, I also send cards. However, I haven't gone to one of those in years. And ofcourse I do send out Sympathy cards to the family of the deceased. I also send Thank you cards through e-cards or if it is going to older people then the old fashioned way.🙂

I literally just ordered 3 cards. I don't send them to everyone though. Just close family and certain friends. Like one of my friends went through a nasty divorce a few years ago and her ex continues to make trouble through their kid; so on her birthday I want her to feel special. Sending a card requires going out of your way a little bit. It's a nice way to show someone you care, they matter, etc.

I keep trying to send less Christmas cards. Once all my friends had kids it deffinitely became a bigger thing. Most are photo cards to. I really do enjoy getting them and I keep them on the side of my refrigerator all year.

DH always gets 2 cards from me for his birthday. One more serious/sentimental and one to make him smile. We always do cards at Christmas, our anniversary and Valentine's day too.

No I don't for adults, except my mil. The one Christmas I didn't give her a card with her present she asked me where her card was. When I said I hadn't sent any cards out she told me that a card is nice and she should not be included because she likes to display them. But I do for the grandkids on birthdays.

Call me odd but I actually like to send cards. :dunno: However, if it's not a close friend or relative then I send a text. I send birthday cards, holiday cards only to people who live out-of-town and always a loss of pet card plus donation to an animal shelter when a friend/relative's animal passes away.

I used to send cards a lot, but I've given up on much of it. My two sons have wedding anniversary this month, and I've always sent them a card, but yesterday in the store I couldn't find any anniversary cards, so that's out. I have sent e-cards in the past, but there are fewer and fewer new ones on the site, so I've given that up, too.

I sent our daughter/son-in-law an anniversary card today. I buy most of my cards at The Dollar Store now and they had a good selection of anniversary cards in case you're interested.
