What ridiculous things do you say to your cat?

I used to sing poop songs to Krista because of our daily struggles with her IBD/lymphoma. Since I knew it was going to be a multi-round affair with clean up on aisle 3 afterwards, I often wanted her to poop already so we can get that out of the way for the day (instead of having to take it on at 2 am.)

One such poop song was Eric Church's Desperate Man with the ooh ooh's changed to "poop poop" and "desperate man" changed to "desperate cat":

Hey what can I say, I'm just a desperate cat
Poop poop, poop poop poop

Another was the Bewitched theme song sung as, "no poop, no poop, oh no poop,...."

The wabbit one killed me 🤣

To diablo in a loving way "Are you being a little demon devil today Diablo huh are you?

In a playful matter " stop being a butt you being a butthead Raiden why you being a butt"

To Cali " Cali why you being a spazzoid you being a spazzoid "

To soar "who wants a goody huh a goody" only way to get her to eat sometimes ,
I have more it depends in the moment lol

Ha! Not alone in my insanity, i knew it! :)
Have you ever heard it is not the person who trains the cat, but the cat who trains the person? Cats sometimes teach people to be crazy.

I often would tell mine, "Now you are a happy cat, not a hungry cat," before she took her first bite. That has to be insanity.

My husband always jokes that I try to talk logic to the cats, especially Gracie. I honestly think if I try to explain why they shouldn't do something, they will listen and understand me.
While getting ready for a vet appointment, I say, "You're going to a good place because you're a good cat." They never figured out what I meant by that, but I said it every time anyway.

Sometimes cats do understand logic. Other times, you can't reason with them at all.

Just before I lifted Krista off the ground or countertop when she was in her carrier, I would ask her, "Ready to fly?" I figured perhaps she would learn the cue and could brace herself. She traveled really well. But she was always most vocal when being carried to and from the car in her carrier.

Usually cats know where they are going. They meow their heads off in the carrier one direction, but are pretty quiet on the way home.

Krista was pretty smart and usually reserved her ire for the vets, techs, and whatever procedures they were going to do. She was often very quiet in the waiting room and exam room. Sure, she probably knew where a carrier ride was going to take her. But she often shut right up once I set her down in the car. Or the waiting room. The drive over she would ride quietly or trill at me when I sneaked in scritches at red lights. That got me to thinking that, besides the obvious, what she really didn't care for was that "flying" feeling of being carried in her carrier. The verbal cue was to give her fair warning.

Neko-chan doesn't like car rides. She cries the whole way to the vet, is quiet at the vet, and then cries the whole way home. She doesn't love the poking and prodding she gets at the vet, but associated the vet with the nice man who gives her treats there.

My former cat was a BIG communicator and if there was something she wanted she would stand and just scream at me. If I couldn’t figure it out and get her to shut up I often said “What’s the matter, Lassie, is Timmy in the well?”, a reference to an old TV program.

The number of times per day that I greet my cat would probably be considered ridiculous.

Any time he walks into the room...
Any time I walk into the room...
Any time he looks up at me...
Any time he moves...
Any time I cross the room...
Any time he crosses the room...

Krista was a triller. She would greet me as often as I greeted her. 😻
