I wont go into details. Cant afford my own place, so the cats and i are in one small bedroom in a relatives house.

I have allergies so im usually in the room only to sleep. How can i help them feel better and have things to do in such a small room? i try to play with them using a toy wand at night. But they arent very interested in that. They are used to seeing people around them during the day and are now alone during the day. I hear them play fighting as i go to sleep, so they have each other for company. Any advice?

How many cats do you have and how big is the room? Some ideas to keep them entertained are cat shelves, making space for them on window sills, cat tree, scratching posts, cat beds, tunnels, empty boxes, and/or catnip stuffed animals. I would maybe try to rotate out some of there toys to keep them interested and of course play/spend as much time with them as possible. Although if you have allergies I’m sure it’s difficult. I had cat allergies for years but after having my cats they have pretty much gone away completely. You may have more of a severe case but I will link a thread that I posted in related to what has helped me with my allergies. Best of luck to you :)

What kind of wand toy is it? My cats like a wand toy that has attach but I do not use the toy. Only the attachment. It's like chasing a bug on the ground

I have 2 cats, and the bedroom is small. I have their 2 cat trees, 2 litter robots, my tv stand/has my clothes. Two very small drawers stacked, and my bed. A small freezer with their food and a chair.

Space is minimal. Theres a small pathway in the middle of the room.

Thank you for the link about allergies. I have a bed tent on my bed. It has helped to put a sheet on the side where my head lies. They used to lean up and smell me. Which is probably why i wake up in the middle of the night out of breath.

i have a mouse squeaking one, and a fabric one that twirls in the air. They like them. But it only works for a few days and they get bored. Here they are in front of the one window in the room.

Gotcha. Definitely sounds like a challenge but you are definitely doing the best you can. The cats look content in the picture you attached. It’s nice that they have an area to rest and look out the window! Whenever your gone I would just make sure you have a couple toys on the floor that they can play with if they decide to do so. Other than that I am sure they will be just fine and at the end of the day at least they have each other to keep themselves entertained lol!

This may sound silly but when I was keeping a feral cat on our porch til she got her shots etc and I could introduce her to the others I liked to keep a radio on for her. Being able for your cats to look out the window is great, if you had a place to hang a bird feeder that would give them something to watch. My cats love to watch the birds feeding..

i havent bought toys i leave around in years. i kept reading they can choke on things. lol i will look around to see what i can find that is safe for them. thanks for the response!

I wish i could help my older cat to be more independent. She gets anxious being alone. The days i am home she spends all day meowing lol.

edit: it made me feel a lot better that you said my cats look content. lol

my brother doesnt like anything that draws birds onto the property. lol because they poop on his car. I like the thought of a little radio.
