Apparently one of the big draws to bring in season football ticket holders was "no masks required!". So we'll see how that works out, first game is next week.

Superspreader event waiting to happen sounds like.
What about those who will NOT go because masks aren't required?

My educated guess is that most people will be thrilled they aren't required to mask - just based on attitudes around here.

Yes, definitely a superspreader event - also with college kids back and the bars full, I don't see this going well.

Yeah it sounds like they're going to recommend boosters at 8 months for everybody. That would be the end of December for me. I'll probably get my flu shot in September so that's enough time in between that I feel comfortable with it.

I wonder if there's any value in switching it up and getting Moderna this time around?

I don't know how I feel about getting a 3rd shot when most people in the world can't even get one but if I refuse it won't help them get one so I guess I might as well :/.
I have heard that whichever you got the first time you should get for the booster. In my case that would be pfizer. I had my first in February, so if I have to wait 8 months that would be October I guess. There's still some discussion about how many months to wait. I also heard somewhere that it's okay to get flu shot and vaccine at the same time. I don't remember where I heard that, but I'd always heard to wait some time before getting another vaccine after you've gotten one. I got email from Walgreens that they're already offering the booster to immunocompromised. Will probably get a flu shot next month.

I know we are where I live. There was even a mask burning event in the next County over when the mandate was lifted a few months ago.

You will need to ask your doctor or pharmacist. Certain vaccines are okay together others aren't. In June I got the Shingles and Pneumonia shot together, she said I could get my second Shingles shot with my flu shot.

In my county the DOH changed the protocol for kids in school. It USED to be that they didn’t have to wear masks during lunch, while playing a woodwind instrument and during speech therapy but and to distance if possible. It changed to they NOW have to distance 6 feet during those times above. School was supposed to start on September 1. The district is having problems putting this new protocol in place so they delayed the opening of school until September 9.
Unfortunately my children are too young to get the vaccine, therefore I am quite happy they will socially distance 6 feet during mask free times.

We've been planning to go to a Michigan game, and have ordered the KN95 masks, I believe. Something better than just the thin paper masks. I told my husband I don't care if we stick out.

Last night, on the local news, they asked their associated doctor the same question. She said to wait at least 2 weeks between the booster and the flu shot.....

When we had our first vaccine clinic, I specifically asked the pharmacist the same question; as I was due for the shingles second shot. She said to wait at least 2 weeks, if not longer before I got the second shingles shot.
She told me, the same thing as the TV doctor stated: Two weeks is the recommended time period between vaccinations of any type.

I get allergy shots and at one point they were telling people not to get the allergy shots within a certain timeframe of getting a Covid vaccine.

Remember, wearing a mask DOES NOT prevent you from getting Covid, it prevents you some from spreading it. If you are fully vaccinated the chances of you carrying it are very slim. Almost ALL the hospitalizations and deaths are with unvaccinated people. You just hear more about the ones that are vaccinated.

I got TDap and flu at the same time last year, but that may be an exception.

My husband and I are both feeling a bit off kilter. I have a slight headache and a bit of a stuffy nose on and off. I may just be extra cautious and skip going to Stroller Strides this week in case it's covid. Feel bad that I went to the grocery store Sunday night, even masked, in case I have it and spread it. We could have picked it up outdoor dining on Friday? We don't go to a ton of places. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'll just keep nursing J so she gets antibodies and take it easy. Glad to be vaccinated, though.

I went and got my flu shot and a tetanus booster yesterday when I noticed no one in line at the pharmacy. The pharmacist said the CDC suggested waiting until October for the flu shot so that it lasts the whole season but I went ahead and got them anyway because who knows by October we could be in another COVID Booster frenzy and no one would have the time for flu shot or they won’t want you to get both too close together, I never have a reaction to the flu shot but a bit of a sore arm from the two injections in the same arm.

We got our weekly county update Wednesday. 81 new cases (still increasing), 11 in the hospital, and two new deaths, a 66 year old and a 32 year old.

I've been back at work for a week. I can get it so that I get one remote work day a week, and my boss moved me into a cubicle (I'm a receptionist so was previously front and center). But, we pretty much lock all our doors anyway and don't regularly have visitors, never did, so there's no need and this way I don't have to wear my mask or worry about other people in the office. I'd prefer to wear my mask, honestly, but have to wear computer glasses and it just fogs them up.

I decided to do a home rapid test today, curbside pickup from Walgreens, and it came out negative. I figure since it's been about five days, I can probably trust the result. There were two tests in the box, so my husband's going to take the other one, rather than me testing again on 36 hours.

I will wait until October. I also need to get my second Shingles vaccination. I got the first one in June so I will wait until October because it is a 4 to 6 month wait between the shots. The White House has delayed the boosters for most people. People who are immunocompromised are eligible now but everyone else has been put on hold. I think they realized that they got out ahead of the FDA. Moderna hasn't turned in all their paperwork yet and ideally they want people to get the same vaccine as their first two shots.

I heard someone on Morning Joe with all the numbers of available vaccines. There is enough vaccine to vaccinate everyone globally, it's an issue of distribution in many developing nations. They are still giving polio vaccines in a few isolated places. The gist of it was that the U.S. and Europe going ahead with boosters is not depriving someone in a poor country of a vaccine, the issue is with distribution.

This stuff is so contagious that I think vaccines to blunt the severe disease is the only thing that can be done. That doesn't really help the kids under 12 though. Even Australia is having record numbers now. They have the advantage of being an island and they have done serious lockdowns.

Well my husband and I both have covid. He's been feeling off since Sunday, got tested Wednesday and results back yesterday. I started feeling a little congested and sneezing quite a bit yesterday, went and got a rapid PCR done today so I could get results quickly. I had taken off from Wed on once he got sick because several people that were around his boss were all ill and it seemed likely covid to me then. He's been miserable all week, achy, tight chest, coughing a little. Now he's sleeping a lot. I'm hoping mine doesn't get much worse. We were both vaccinated in April, I had pzifer, he had Moderna.
