Good morning! :wave3:

Since I made peach pies yesterday, I thought I would ask you: What’s your favorite summer pie?

I like peach, but I love lemon meringue pie. I always associate lemon meringue with spring and summer. Or a good French silk pie.

What about you? What’s your favorite summer pie?

Raspberry! There is a restaurant on a lake near where I was born that is known for their pies. My grandparents would drive out for the scenery and stop for lunch. The food is good too; but the pies are my favorite! They are real, homemade pies. I could go for their raspberry pie right now. :yummy:

We don't really have typical pie often. We happened to have apple pie today, and it was pretty good. We usually make cheesecake in the warm weather, it's pretty refreshing!

It has to be apple pies. I was a 4H member in grade school and we practiced all summer making apple pies so we could enter one in the August county fair. You had to be able to peel the whole apple in a single continuous strip, the apples had to be cut to a consistent size and shape, the crust needed to be crimped just perfectly, and of course the pie had to come out of the oven the perfect color, texture and taste. So it took dozens of pies and lots of practice all summer long to get your techniques down.

They had a Best Apple Pie contest at work. I made my own creation of an apple pie with lemon custard in a pecan pie crust. Walked away with a $75 gift card to our local mall. First prize. And the judges gave me back an empty pie pan. They were only supposed to take one bite. They ate the whole pie!

Cherry! It's actually the only pie I really like. I'm more of a crust person too so I usually eat the goop and crust and spit out the cherries.

Strawberry and rhubarb.
Yes to strawberry rhubarb! Perfect for summer!

I am somehow not at all surprised by this. :heartshape:
