Hi everyone :) I have a little 6 month old kitten, Luci, who I am extremely protective over (helicopter mom to the max!!! haha) I definitely struggle with a lot of anxiety surrounding the cat and I’m always so scared I’m gonna find her hurt or missing even though I’ve basically infant proofed my house, sometimes I even struggle to leave the house because I think she’ll be upset when I leave (I’m a high school teacher so there’s a lot of time Luci has to herself) I’ve had a lot of loss in my life so I think I carry a lot of emotions around and Luci is someone I would die to protect, I’m just very scared something is going to happen to her, even though I know deep down nothing will. Do you guys have any advice for this stuff?
Here’s a pic of Luci and check out my other threads like “Let’s just admire how amazing our cats are on this thread” if you’re interested 😻

Good on you! I have an infant and still haven't baby-proofed. :running:

It gets better. My cat made me super nervous as a kitten. She's four now and spends more of her time sleeping and less trying to get into trouble

She certainly is a cutie! Being a parent, cat or human is hard and worrying about their welfare is just one of the things you learn to live with. Perhaps it would help if you could get a video cam or two so that you can check in on her during the day. It would also help you to see that she does perfectly fine on her own and probably spends the day napping and playing while you are gone.

Aw congratulations on your baby, such a blessing, I’m sending positive energy ❤

Ohhh yes! Luci definitely likes to get into trouble like climbing up every curtain, knocking over the garbage, eating shoes, and sitting in plants (non toxic of course, trust me I threw a bunch of hydrangeas out my window LOL) Pics included lol

I believe that would definitely help! Can you recommend any cameras? Thank you for replying as well❤

Wyze cams, available from Wyze or on Amazon, run around $30 and work great. I have had a couple for a few years and you can watch live from your phone, it will record motion, and if you add an SD card you can continuously record.

Thank you so much! Maybe I’ll spring and get the one with the treat ejector too

Just what I was thinking! Check ins during the day can be a great anxiety reducer!

My DH spent hours today trying to get our digital antenna and extender placed *just right* so we can watch some Olympics coverage live. He had my kids shouting relay style to let him know how many bars we had. It was kind of funny because I barely remember life with only antenna tv myself. My kids have no clue about trying to pick up tv stations like in the old days. :lol2: We finally used our cell phones after I suggested DS’s toy walkie-talkies.:flail:

DH ended up taking the whole thing out of the attic and mounting it on a scrap pvc pole he put in a beach umbrella stand he drove into the grass. Even then it kept going back and forth between perfect reception and then dropping it. But in the attic we couldn’t get it at all. So we got some tv coverage for a while and it was pretty stable. Then tonight it was out again.:rolleyes2:

We should have gotten a one month cable subscription!

Beautiful Graceful-Lily Graceful-Lily ! I love Gerbera daiseys. This is the first year in a while that I haven't planted any!

I'm still trying to get a resolution with the ebay seller who sent me half a workbook instead of a whole one. She said her husband must have sent the wrong one and if I want to send just that book back I can get a partial refund. (Or I can return it all.) Ummm... The cost of sending her back her essentially useless half a workbook would completely negate the refund. :dunno:

Our second car has a broken head gasket it’s a 2002 and it would cost up to 2K. Debating which direction to go

Right now used and new car prices are just insane, so you will end up paying much more than you expect for a used one and might not be able to get a new one for months. So given that it is probably best to spend the money to repair the one you have.

Did the seller ad say “free returns policy?”. If so they should pay return shipping. if they sent wrong item, they should send the right one and pay Shipping on return or give you a full refund. I wouldn’t hesitate to open an Ebay complaint If They don’t do that as you have it in writing that they sent the wrong item.
