Maria Bayote Maria Bayote I am so sorry you are still feeling awful. If they can get the right medicine then I am hoping you will feel great! I had headaches with my BP too. Constantly. Many of your same symptoms. It does take time for the meds to get things straightened out but I hope they kick in quickly now.
I know that letting Patchie go was hard. It’s always hard but think of it like this, Patchie will get individual love and now , if another kitty needs help, you will have a spot open for them. I had to remind myself many, many times that each cat deserves a family and I can’t rescue another if I keep every spot filled. The rewards are that you saved that life. You are a kitty hero!:hugs::clap2::goldstar::heartshape::alright:

Prayers for you for feeling better in every way.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Allie was Blitzed and very happy. Lol The kitties needed a fun time.
YouTube has a ton of those videos with Billi and they are wonderful! Everyone should watch those! IMHO they would change how the world views every cat and living creature! Amazing!
Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Thise videos are fantastic and highly enlightening! I went through them after strider rose strider rose mentioned there were more than the one I had stumbled upon.
I want those buttons but can you imagine a Clowder talking? Lol The cat, Billi even tells the hooman to “Look” and “ouch” just before she throws up! She is talking! It’s not coincidental from the way the videos show things. I would love to give that a try. Cat Speak May take on a whole new meaning. I know many of us read our cats and their body language well but how many times have we all wished to understand them better? Very cool stuff!

I want to say to all rescuers how much I appreciate and admire them. Whether you adopt one kitty or feed ferals or spend time doing TNR, spend time matching adopting homes to cats that need help or any other form of life saving, I thank you and you are all my heros. I , and others are here because of you and those who paved our way. It’s a path I am grateful to be walking with you all. There is great love on that path.
Tonight our smile comes from Wanda Heart. Named by one of our treasured rescuers and someone I am honored to walk alongside in this world, N NY cat man .

Yes, you and me both on "heroes"!!! My greatest heroes and inspirations are the lifesaving and caring rescuers. Every one of them.
Hoping to see our missing posters soon! So many loved ones and friends have gone missing in my life that I guess I'm afraid to put a lot of focus on this. But I hope and pray all of them are well and that they will get in contact.
Wanda Heart definitely has the right philosophy: "Don't worry, be happy! Get blitzed!" :dizzycat:

Hope everyone is ok. Once again I do appreciate all the concerns and prayers. I feel a bit better today, thanks to you all.

the house is quite quiet without Patchie. But the strays outside are still present every morning and afternoon, waiting for me to feed them as usual. I feed them at my mini veranda. It is better than having nosy neighbors complaining of me leaving food outside.

here is one of my cats Bourbon, alert. She somehow knows when I am not feeling well. She would just lie on my chest and stare at me for a long time.

Here are some of Patchie’s last photos before she was adopted. I terribly miss her, but if I kept them all, there would be no more room for others to help:

I have adopted out several cats in my life and I will never forget them. I will never "get over" missing them, either. I pray their lives were lived in comfort, safety, best of care, and love always. Those of us who care and love cats each have to do what we are able to do for them. You are doing a wonderful thing. Get plenty of C.A.T.! Looks like you are.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Thise are precious photos. You did a wonderful thing for Patchie. Kitties have a way of finding the help they need and you have sent Patchie off on a new adventure for a great life. I see that Bourbon is taking good care of you. I expect Bourbon is trying to give you cat comfort in every way. They are so good at that. Prayers continue and I am so glad you are feeling better. More of the same on that please! Get well quick!
As tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 said, we never forget the kitties and they do reward us. It’s a privilege that they choose us and I know that others may have heard through the grapevine that your house is a cat safe place to be. I think they tell others! Lol

Hey everyone! Heh! My van is broken down in town. Fortunately at. a car parts place. They say I can make it home. Alternator. I am going to need to scramble to get it in a shop and find a way home. Rats. I needed it for an important doc appointment. I will be on the phone tonight trying to find a way to get to the city. I don’t know if I will get back online tonight. I’ll try. If not, please know that I am okay but need to get this done. Sending love and purrs to all!

Awwwhhh thanks! I like to believe I am making a difference in the lives of the cats I feed everyday. I do the best I can. There are quite a few people here who are really doing an awesome job helping homeless kitties--you are one of them! Hundreds have been saved because of you. Thank you for showing these kitties your compassion and dedication. You are my hero!❤

Thanks for those videos. It is truly amazing!!! To be able to really communicate with our cats and vice versa is a special gift. Love it!

Hope you get your Van repaired and it is as good as new afterwards. Stay safe.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote I hope you feel much better soon. Get a little more rest--it may really help. Patchie is a little gem. I hope she is settled pretty nicely into her new home. I tried fostering and it is not for me-- I would probably keep more than I adopt out.😄 Instead, I take care of the homeless cats on my block. It's a labor of love.❤ Anything to make the quality of their lives better.

*SAFE JOURNEYS!* and hope you get repair done reasonably and quickly. Do you have Uber there? I've used it quite a bit . Get the app on your phone and it's quite easy and very quick. More reasonable than taxi and IMHO a lot better than other services.

My alternator went out once. We were out of town (headed to Detroit and it broke down on the expressway near I believe Kalamazoo), and we got to ride in a police car to the nearest hotel.

Anyway, you don't want to mess with alternators.

I agree with tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 about calling an Uber if you can. I've always had pretty good experiences.

I forgot N NY cat man named little wandering Wanda Heart. :lovecat2:

We've noticed your absence, BTW, N NY cat man . 🤗 Hope all is well with you and Michele and the kitties, and that your absence just means you're spending lots of time in your garden, wandering around and taking pics of beautiful flowers. :camera: Looking forward to seeing pics either in this thread, or the photos, or gardening one. 🌻🥀🌹🌷💐

Good luck getting the van repaired. And thanks for taking the time to post and let us know what's going on. Keeps us from worrying.

Anyway, you don't want to mess with alternators.
Alternators and batteries have a close connection, and I once made the mistake of ignoring warning lights on my dash too long, and was on my way to the service place when the car shut down. It was scary, as first the radio went out, then the lights on the dash, then the power faded, which left me with just had enough to get to the side of the road before everything went dead. By that time not even the hazard lights would work. It was winter too, so a bit chilly waiting for CAA to arrive, but because it was rush hour, and I was on a main street, they got to me quickly. Moral of story, don't ignore dash warning lights. ;)

Uber drivers here are not who you really want in many cases. I am trying to get someone I know. Besides, the drive is a long one. The van is in a shop that is owned by a friend of my friend who just passed. One of the people I had to notify. Strange world. He is trying to help. I know he’ll get me back on the road as soon as he can. Every shop here is short on help these days. Jobs are open everywhere! Including his shop. Still working on getting to my appointment. If I miss it, I may not get in for two months. As it is, they fit me in. It’s an eye appointment so if I get there, I may come home with all blur from having my eyes worked on. If I come on tomorrow and type gibberish….. you’ll know that I can’t see the keyboard! I’ll do my best though! If you just get a single photo, that’s why!

OMC still trying, Jcatbird Jcatbird ! Hate wasting hours on this kind of stuff! My roomies had a tech appt. that cancelled on them today -- wanted to reschedule for tomorrow, not good for me. We'll try for Thursday but I let her know that if that can't happen, we'll have to forget about it because this kind of stuff gets on my last nerve and I do not have the time to deal with it, nor do I want the needless stress of it. *PRAYERS* for you!

Let me tell you my weird alternator story. I was living in Louisiana, and my parents came to pick me up to go to Florida for a visit. About halfway back, the car died. It was a Sunday, in rural Alabama, and we couldn't find anywhere open. SO...Mom finally told Dad, "I'm going to go lay hands on this car!" Which she did, praying up a storm. When she stopped, she said, "TRY IT!" It cranked with no problem. Dad drove straight through to Panama City Beach, dropped Mom off, and I rode with him to his mechanic (this was early Monday morning). The mechanic took a look, and asked Dad, "Andy, how the hell did you get the car here?" Dad said, "Drove it...none-stop after it died in Alabama. Just got back." Mechanic said, "No, I don't see how. Andy, THERE ARE NO BRUSHES LEFT ON YOUR ALTERNATOR AT ALL! This car CANNOT run!" I have no explanation. Not that is provable. But something got us several hundred miles safely back to Florida. And I never, ever rolled my eyes at Mom and her prayer group again.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 as you know and can testify, there is a lot of Power in Prayer. Those that negate it just don't know.
I didn't really know it worked for cars, but one of the women in my Faith told me, "I ask Him for whatever I want!" Somehow I haven't really come around to praying for material things and such, but...;)

Went to eye appointment. Blurry world! Lol Found a friend to drive me which turned out to be a good thing. Another appointment or two coming up. Hoping all is well with everyone. Gypsy! I have had cats do that after eating grass. Before a hair all too. Hopefully she just needed to hiccup!
Eyes must rest but as promised….

First two are Stanhopea orchids. Last one is Cattleya. Hope and cat! Can’t beat the names!
