The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate takes place both in 1875, shortly after the end of the U.S. Civil War, and in the mid-1980s. It’s set in Louisiana and Texas. Like Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, the past haunts the future. Again, a very good book and a good pick for a book club.
Have you read "Before We Were Yours" by Lisa Wingate? If not, put it on your "to read" list, as it's a good one.

I'm between books right now, but next up is "The Death of Mrs. Westaway" which we're reading in our June 2021 book of the month club (Poll)

I haven’t and I shall! :)

I mentioned to the woman who recommended The Book of Lost Friends that I really needed something lighter before plunging back into heavier fare, and she suggested Anxious People. She said it was delightful! I’ve reserved it, but it may be awhile before I get it. It’s clearly very popular. I’m waaaay down on the list.

Just checked and my library has 54 copies of the e-book and all are borrowed except one.

BTW, since you enjoy reading, and seem to like some of the same authors I do, keep an eye on our book club choices, and maybe some month we'll be reading one that interests you.

I’m #699 on 153 copies!

On the other hand, my hold on The Death of Mrs. Westaway just came through and I’ve downloaded it. Yay!

I had a goal of 20 books this year. I have finished 11. I am currently reading the autobiographies of Benjamin Franklin and Edward Snowden.

I'm going back and forth. Too humid for reading on deck, so I'm reading on tablet. (I don;t take the tablet to the deck because
of my pesky entrapped ulnar nerve which causes me to frequently drop things.) Killing Me Softly by Nikki French, I have 3 books at the drive thru to be picked up, all by K.L. Slater. I'm next on the list for BOM so I can read on tablet.
Edward Snowden.
Which bio are you reading? author? Thanks!

Reading "Faux Paw." I've read this series twice now, this is #3, and it is just as much fun this time around!
