I never made coffee for those ingrates again
I like your attitude. I need to borrow it. Those ingrates. Or one at least... ;)

Just drinking my Folger's Black Silk dark roast ground coffee, made with 1/3 cup grounds. This is my brother's favorite coffee, the only one he will drink. How boring! I love to try new brands/types.

On a side note-- Do you guys clean your coffee maker? How do you clean that bucket part where you pour the water in? Or does the steam clean it? It would be hard to get a rag down in there. Maybe hold it over the sink and use the sprayer? I need some advice.

As you know, nobody cleans anything around here, so it's up to me if I want it cleaned. ;)

My dishwasher (aka husband) cleans my French press by hand. I don't have a normal coffeemaker, so I'm not sure how that would get cleaned. I feel like when I was teaching I only ever saw people cleaning the pot part unless there were internal things that could be removed.

Take everything out that comes out and wash those things in the sink. Wipe the top and sides with a paper towel after a pot (so that it's still steamy and loose). Then put everything back and run a couple of pots through with straight white vinegar. It might take 3 or more runs if the coffee maker hasn't been cleaned in a while. You want to see it looking fairly new-ish, get rid of most of the brown deposits. Then run a few pots of plain water through to get rid of the vinegar, do that until it doesn't smell like vinegar anymore. If you do that once a month that should keep the coffee maker running well and reduce any old/bad tastes.

Thanks so much! But whoops, I forgot to do that final part. I just did a vinegar/water half and half mix. I didn't run any water through by itself after. Oh well, the coffee tastes okay!

Folgers black silk dark roast coffee drank black. I will probably drink this whole pot, then back to just 2 cups tomorrow.

Deja Vu. Folgers black silk dark roast coffee drank black again.

Spell check just tried to change folgers to folders. Weird!

I have other coffees, but not sure if I should open them for variety or finish this one first.

I've been having my dark roast coffee every morning, (hot), but since we've been doing more yard work DH has been making short runs for and iced drink in the afternoon when we're done working. He has iced tea with mango dragon fruit juice and I have my iced americano.

I had dark roast over the weekend when I was at my in-laws
Yay! Welcome to the dark side. :cheerleader:

Just drinking my Folger's Black Silk dark roast coffee. Yesterday my mother thought it was still too strong, even though I made it weak. So without telling me, she poured her decaf over it and diluted it. She couldn't understand why I was upset. I told her it's illegal to change somebody's food or drink without telling them! She could have just diluted it in her own cup instead of the machine. :headshake:

Had my regular Columbian Roast hot coffee for breakfast.
Later I got a Dunkin Ice Cold Brew with Almond Milk. It was good. I will drink the Cold Brew from Dunkin, but not the regular iced or hot coffee. I do not care for the taste.

A couple weeks ago, I tried an Iced Oatmilk Latte~~~ not impressed. The cold brew is better.

It is a different brewing method. Not sure of exact specifics; but, Cold brew seems to be coffee which is steeped with cold water. It is not as bitter. To me, it has a nice flavor without the bitterness and seems a bit stronger. I really like it..

Now, Nitro Brew, is something I have not tried; nor, do I know the specifics of. I think nitrogen is pumped into the brewing water, making it smoother... supposedly smoother than cold brew.

It is all a marketing ploy.. but the Cold brew is really good.
