Last night and today were terrible. I slept from 8 p.m. to midnight, was up until 5 a.m.; slept again until 10 a.m. I hope to make it through the night tonight. This is really ruining my life.
I’m so sorry. That’s how I was all of last week. It takes a toll on you physically and emotionally for sure.

For me personally, if I go to bed before 12:30, I will wake up again sometime around midnight and be up for hours like you described.

I am praying for you, and I really hope you sleep well tonight. :hugs: :hugs:

I slept OK last night, but it was dream heavy so I'm not sure how restful it was. I woke up several times but was able to fall back asleep quickly. I feel kinda pooped this morning, but not exhausted.
The last week has been overcast and rainy, and I do tend to sleep deeper when it rains overnight. The problem...I suffer from headaches, body aches and fatigue with barometric pressure changes, so even though I sleep good, I'm still tired in my waking hours...:rolleyes3:

JamesCalifornia JamesCalifornia thank you so much. Listening to rain sounds relaxes me so much.

That’s kind of good. I’m glad you at least slept :)

I relate to that completely. Even though I am sometimes able to sleep, doesn’t mean I’m awake starting the day.
Sleep much better and I can now dream!
You slept better? Hurrah!

How have you all been doing in terms of sleep?:grouphug2:
I hope you are all sleeping better. I got about six hours of sleep last night (not a deep sleep, but it was at least sleep). Byetter than previously!
Hi, BellaGooch BellaGooch I can't say I have been doing so well. I had one decent night about 4 days ago, otherwise it is very choppy sleep that leaves me feeling very unrested. It takes forever for me to fall asleep and I wake up easily numberous times in the night and have to fight to get back to sleep. I have to get this under control, but am very afraid to go to the doctor's and get put on some medicine that I will get addicted to.
I am exercising nearly everyday whether Cardio or strength training. I want to go on a diet and lose weight because I think it may help my sleep and ofcourse for overall health. It is going to be very difficult with my insomia.

I think you should keep this thread up since so many members have shared their troubles with getting sleep. Here is an article on the different stages of sleep. The Deeper sleep stages are the most important for body restoration. We don't stay in deep sleep too long compared to the other stages of sleep. I hope you find the article informative.

I hope you and everyone here get some good sleep. How I envy the sleep I got when I was a lot younger. I wish I could get that kind of sleep now. 🛌 😴
The Stages of Sleep: What Happens During Each
Here is one more article about what is the normal amount of deep sleep and other stages of sleep. Interestingly, it said we get less deep sleep as we age. I think I will keep researching this topic.
How Much Deep Sleep Do You Need?

Yes, I agree.Of course, I’m not happy to hear that other people go through this, but it is always nice to know that you’re not the only one.

You might be having a magnesium deficiency. Try an epsom salt bath since magnesium is absorbed through the skin prior to going to bed. Epson salt

Thank you. I have tried magnesium (for a while, actually), and it unfortunately didn’t work. Thank you though.

How is everybody doing today? How did you guys sleep?
I fell asleep at around 4:00 am. Sometimes I’ll sleep through the night, but wake up still extremely tired. I slept, but I didn’t sleep good. I think it’s due to lack of REM.
I have a Fitbit that tracks my sleep (I don’t know how accurate it is), and according to it, I spend a lot of time tossing and turning, and not a lot of time in a deep sleep.
Anyways, hope you guys are feeling okay. 🤗

That’s great news!
Sorry to hear that. Fractures are no fun :(

I only slept for an hour or two last night at once. I was up at 2:30, couldn't sleep. Read for an hour. Went back to bed. Mingo woke me up at 4:30, playing with the electrical cords. Then he started knocking things off my dresser. Sometimes, he scratches the glass fronted bookcase, which sounds like fingernails on chalkboard. He never does any of this during the day, so I know he intends to wake me up. I tricked him out of the room and shut the door. By 6:30, he was crying at the door.

Today, I feel like a zombie. No deep REM sleep.
