Basically, I have a 9 month old kitten, and an 11 month old kitten (in pic). I was told they were both girls by the breeder, and have had no suspicion otherwise until I witnessed them mating yesterday. We checked out Luna, and turns out she is a boy! Obviously I panicked and checked my female cat, and I see her nipples (seem?) pinked up. Can someone confirm this?! Does she look like she could be pregnant? She also threw up less than a week ago, I figured it was just an upset stomach. She by no means looks big yet, I would say her belly Is about the same

Also would like to clarify they're from two different people, they are not siblings

It’s difficult to tell as nipples are different on all cats, but she may be pregnant; however, she is too young to be a mom. Your best bet is to get her spayed and your male neutered immediately and you’ll have no more worries.

Can we get a picture of Luna's back end? Or is it so obvious that you don't need confirmation? Sometimes females will mount other females in heat in an effort to calm them (or something, who knows really).

If Luna is male, if yesterday was the first time they mated, you wouldn't see any changes yet :).

But yeah, best thing is to spay immediately, before any possible pregnancy progresses.

Is there a reason why you’ve not had them spayed and neutered yet?

I am living in Nor cal temporarily until early May, our typical vet is in So cal. I was going to wait until late May to get to typical vet, they would both be under a year old and are indoor cats. I figured it would be fine, but he is in fact a boy

Did the breeder provide you with vet records for their earlier three visits for shots?
They take a look and mark the sex there on the paper work.

Cat pregnancies are about 9 weeks, so if she got pregnant the first time they did it, she'd be about due, but she doesn't look like she's that far along. Maybe he was young and clueless and didn't know how to seal the deal. But you can't count on that for long. It would be a good idea to get her in to see the vet for a professional opinion. If you can't get her in and don't want to spay her now, just assume she is pregnant, feed her kitten food for extra nutrition, and prepare a nesting box.

Update: Took her to the vet. He felt her and said he did not feel kittens, but that he could not confirm or deny pregnancy. Felt as if he was not very helpful, can't you only feel kittens about 6-7 weeks in? He did confirm slight weight gain and noted that her nipples do appear pink. Other then that no other information besides wait and see. Can vets typically be able to confirm pregnancy early on in cats?

Cat pregnancy can be confirmed by ultrasound around 16-20 days. The vet should have mentioned that option.

Do you want kittens or do you plan to spay her now?

I am in a difficult position. I move in 2 and a half weeks back to our typical area, where the humane society spays for 85. Here the humane society is booked months out for spaying, and her vet would charge me 400 dollars for the surgery, meds and cone. That is definitely a financial hit I was not expecting this week.. obviously have to make a decision soon

If cost were not a factor, what would you do?
I would probably let nature take its course. We have many helping hands, and the 400 dollar price tag is definitely making me shy away from that decision, which I discussed in depth with the Vet.. Luna is momentarily separated from Raven while we figure out the situation further

Then do that - let her have the litter, then spay where it’s cheaper. In the meantime, worry about getting your male neutered.

Yep, it’s not uncommon. It’s cat morning sickness from pregnancy hormones.
