Beautiful tulips, N NY cat man !!! 🌷

My tulips are early, like everything else this year, and the first one is almost ready to bloom. I also have that "crocus grass" and am considering digging them all out, as I'm not crazy about the look, as that garden gets planted with annuals once the tulips finish.

Catmint will be nearby, buy tomatoes (2 types), corn, cucumbers and cilantro. I'm a single guy and I'm going to plant more than I can eat
If you have squirrels nearby, they will happily help eat the red tomatoes! Last year, a squirrel carried half a large tomato up into the big tree in the yard... I went outside and wondered what that red thing was sitting on a branch 10 + feet in the air. Turns out is was a tomato piece they must have carried up there!

Is the catmint different from catnip?

Catmint you can pick, but it's only when you break the stem that it's attractive to cats.

I bought a couple of catmint plants last year. My little gang had shredding the plants before I got them out of the plastic pots and into the ground.

Happy kitties! My Katrina has me trained. I have last years catnip hanging at the deck door high enough she cannot reach. I give them a leaf every day or so. But Katrina stands on the shelves next to the deck and asks to be picked up, which I do, and hold her next to the dried hanging catnip. She nibbles on it a little, and I put her back down, haha. Too cute! She is the most sensitive to catnip!

I also keep some downstairs to put on toys/scratchers, and she **knows** when the catnip drawer opens! She comes flying and follows me to where I put it. <3

My lilacs are blooming. πŸ’œ The colors look different as the buds open and in different lighting. I love them! Sorry about the rotation of some images.

Happy kitties!
They were! But I felt so sorry for the poor little chewed up plants
My lilacs are blooming
Beautiful! I love lilacs, they smell like heaven.

Well, I finally got everything done outside. My main project has been upcycling my bike. I used to ride around on it quite a lot, but as I work online all the time now it's just been rusting away outside the house. I hope it enjoys it's retirement role as a planter.

MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles Stunning colors!

Norachan Norachan

That upcycle is everything! So creative! Esp. the smaller pots under the seat and handrails.

And love your lounging kitties, esp. the on laying on the box on the deck. Was that one the flowers came in or do you leave it out there all the time? Your backyard looks so cozy and seeing your hammock makes me miss spending time in mine. <3

Yes, it's one that the flowers came in. They all love a good box, but it rains too much here to leave one out all the time. They do have some wooden outdoor boxes though.

And the tree house, of course.

I think Lilacs are beautiful but absolutely hate their smell. Crazy I know.
I feel the same way about marigolds. Pretty flowers but their smell makes me retch!

Marigolds l’ll agree with you on. They look pretty but that’s all. I plant them for supposed pest control. lol

But lilacs are my favorite scent in the whole entire world!!:cloud9:
I know where my dislike of the smell comes from. Growing up we had tons of lilac bushes. One summer we had some in the house in a vase and then neglected to toss them out soon enough. The smell was awful and I have never been able to stand the smell since.

I sent a PM to Winchester Winchester for advice on a flowering vine and she was sweet to not only answer, but send pictures. I took her advice (of course) and got a Clematis for the new three-light pole we have in the front yard. The Clematis is small, yet has already grown larger next to my kitchen window. I don't remember the name, but it will have pretty flowers that droop. We have been setting it out to get some sunshine and harden off in prep for planting.

My Artic kiwis died and I don't think DH wants to replace them. We always have an early warm spell and then frost. It kills a lot. The blackberries are growing like wild, as are the muscadines. I have the sweetest grapes, but the birds take them for their own.

Daisy and I have strawberries that aren't planted in proper hills, but run wild in the berm in the backyard.

A burning bush is on the horizon and as soon as we get our tiller back from the neighbor, we will make a small garden for the tomatoes. We are only planting four this year. DH will pick two plants and I will pick two for myself. I really want a Homestead, but don't know if I can find one.

And I love radishes! :cloud9: I may try to grow a few inside. I always pull them up too early outside. Last, but not least, is the cilantro I have already bought. I am growing it inside, but don't want to plant too soon. I need it for homemade salsa, so I must wait on my tomatoes.

Goodness, I hope I haven't bored you. I could talk gardening all day. 🌱🌺🌸🌼 πŸ‡πŸ“πŸ…πŸ₯

Oh, so beautiful. Mine aren't blooming yet. Soon, though.

Really good transformation!

Last, but not least, is the cilantro I have already bought.
