Haha, my mom started watching Bridgerton. I'm not sure how far she got but she said "this one is straight-up P*RN!" and now she doesn't watch it anymore, lol. I don't like romances so I didn't even try.

How. . .graphic is Outlander? I meant to try that one myself (supposedly the historical and time travel elements make it more interesting even if you don't like romance), and thought I'd recommend it for her if it's not too much.

I probably would love Outlander and Bridgerton if they were pg. But from the reviews; Outlander isn’t for me in book or tv form. The bits I saw looked interesting but I read reviews and heard enough from others to know it’s another no for me. Amazon having self-published authors has helped me find plenty to read that doesn’t violate my personal morals/standards.

I did find a series by a romance author that had been edited by her daughter to make it pg. You could kind of tell where they took scenes out but if you didn’t know it was an edited series you might not have noticed. I know there are services out there now that will edit movies/tv for you; but that’s a bit much for me. I don’t know how it affects the movies and shows storytelling. I guess I’d have to try it.

The thing I did pick up and enjoy after Bridgerton released were several YouTube channels that talk about historical fashion and critiquing a few movies and things. I think I found them first when I wanted to know what a “mathematically tied cravat” actually looks like.:flail:

Officially received my first vaccine and survived, although my arm feels sore after a few hours already. The young man who gave me the shot was so kind, very gentle, and empathetic. He knew just want to say to validate my anxiety while also helping me feel safer. Even so, a few minutes before getting the shot, my anxiety spiked and was worried about having a panic attack. Luckily it did not escalate, but still felt off when I went to park for my 15 min. wait.

A lady came to ask how I was, and said fine, just anxious. Her eyes nearly bugged out of her face before she composed herself to calmly ask what kind of symptoms. I repeated I'm pretty sure it was just anxiety and didn't elaborate. My anxiety was still there and felt a little pain sensation in my arm and that escalated my anxiety as I worried it was a reaction, but I knew it was just anxiety and didn't want to honk my horn for attention. I called a friend who said she'd be happy to be on standby for a phone call, if needed. She helped distract me until the 15 min. were up and it was time for me to head home. So thankfully no panic attacks and it was manageable.

I also had brought my pink elephant stuffie and really glad I did, even though everyone who talked with me seemed to glance at it and notice it curled up against my side. I felt embarrassed at first, but I think it was comforting to have and thankful I got over it and decided to bring it.

I mean, I bring a stess ball or a wad of play dough or something to squeeze into the dentist to help keep me calmer, so I totally get it.

Did you end up getting Pfizer or Moderna?

Glad you have something that works for you to help. Those seem more "acceptable" for adults. Not that I'm one to really follow social rules or worry that much what others think. My friend did share how another friend always carries a stuffed animal around with her, so other adults do it, too. :)

Pfizer. So thankful it was a two dose ones as this was the site that offered JJ before. I was hoping even though news said on Friday things were cleared to reuse JJ that they wouldn't be available at the site yet. I like how the two dose has higher effective rate and also not have to worry about the very rare JJ side effect.



Oh! So all my friends were sharing how when they went to vaccine sites (some drug stores, some county set-up) how safe it was to help me feel more comfortable. How everyone was 6 ft. apart and told to fix masks if they weren't wearing correctly... So of course, at the site I went to there was one staff member who kept pulling down his mask onto his chin. Not when he was by the cars in line, but sometimes he was within 6 ft. of the other staff while they talked in a circle. Then, there was also an indoor section guessing for the walk-in vaccines... people were a only a couple feet apart and while there was six chairs fanned out in front of the entrance 6 ft. apart... no one was sitting in them but instead standing close to everyone else waiting in line. There were no markers on the ground either. The staff even walked past the line and didn't say anything.... So I of course had to take pictures and kept sending them to my friend saying, see! This always happens! Everyone always tells me how safe everyone is and going out to stores and vaccines sites is fine and people follow the protocols, but of course this is what I experience whenever I try to go out. So now I'm very glad I decided to only do drive thru to get my vaccine, so I could stay in my car the whole time.

I assume the entire staff has been vaccinated, and they probably have a basic idea how careful their co-workers are, so they most likely don't wear masks around each other when no patients are around. . .but yeah, he really shouldn't be doing that in front of patients.

I'm glad you were able to get drive-up, that's pretty cool.
