I've heard a lot of people say the second shot laid them out for a few days
I only know one person who had that bad of a reaction, and the poor woman had the same reaction to BOTH shots. Everyone else I know had mild side effects or none at all.

But staggering them isn't a bad idea, just in case. Also helps with the appointments, so one parent can stay with the kids.

SD is up to 40% fully vaccinated! I'm not sure if they're counting this as just having both doses, or if they only count people who have had 2 weeks since their second dose. (Oops, found it: they mean people who have had both doses)

Thanks for the tips!

So, they came for the inspection. She didn't even come in. Just the guy who sprays for bugs. They spray every month, which I think is a bit much. Anyway, she went until my neighbor's place but didn't look around and told her she was sick. She wasn't even wearing a 🤬 mask! If she gave us all covid after we've avoided it all this time, I'm gonna lose it.

I forgot to mention Aedan's dentist appointment. His teeth are clean, no cavities. No surprise there - the kid loves brushing and does it several times a day. But, they're already looking kind of crowded and his adult teeth will be worse. Looks like he's gonna have the same issue as me. If you've seen my pictures, you've probably noticed my fangs. My mouth is too small for my teeth and my incisors are pushed forward. We couldn't afford braces when I was young and we still can't. I'm probably going to start a braces fund for Aedan because it looks like he's going to need them.

W WillowMarie - Good luck on your appointment! Of course you won't feel better right away after anxiety for a year. Looking into telehealth to help with your anxiety so you can start making baby steps (like going into the vet for five minutes to pick up meds, not going into a mosh pit), might not be a bad idea if you can swing it or you think you'll need extra help.

Alicia88 Alicia88 - I had that problem as well! Braces twice and early removal of my wisdom teeth because my mouth was too crowded. Even twice, some of my teeth have been pushed out of place.

W WillowMarie , do you know which vaccine you're getting?
Not sure. Guessing it should not be Johnson Johnson though as our county stopped giving those out until further notice. That was the main one being given at the drive thru site I'm going to. Guess I'll be surprised.

Can Aedan come convince my son to brush better? He has a small jaw/mouth and its actually difficult to brush the gum line in front so I’m always making him go brush some more. :cringe:

Some of my friends are going through the braces phase with their kids. They’ve been discussing various payment plans and saying they are more affordable than they used to be. But its still expensive. DD’s teeth have come in nicely thankfully. DS might still adjust as his jaw grows. They aren’t bad except the top 2 stick out some. I’ve seen much worse. Mine adjusted on their own. Hes been slow to lose teeth though (i was also) but I think it’s because of his jaw size. So far no mention of braces. I still remember the look my mom gave my dentist as a kid when he said I would need them 😒. (I didn’t.) :lol2:

I just got a call last week that my kids dentist is retiring (:bawling2:) so we will see what the new one says. But its possibly their old dentists son so I’m hoping we will still love it there. I’m not sure who the new one is.

The biggest issue with Aedan is getting him to let me help to make sure no spots are missed. I only have that battle morning and night. The rest of the time, I just let him go at it. I hope Ali is this good about brushing.

The overcrowding issue runs in my side of the family, so it's not a surprise. But I definitely want to get them braces if they need them. I don't want them to deal with the teasing and bullying.

Yes I’d do whatever I could to make it happen if my kids need them. Back when that dentist tried to tell my mom that there was no way she could have afforded it. It seemed like *everyone* my age was getting braces like back when *everyone* was getting their tonsils out. My cousin was SO self concious and her teeth issues didn't help. She still tries to smile without showing her teeth and she did have braces. I just won't rush it like they were doing for mild cases.

It seems like when I was a kid, everyone got braces in that middle school age, and now more kids are getting them at 8 or 9. I didn't even have all my adult teeth yet! I do feel like you shouldn't do it too early because I was burned by the wisdom teeth wildcard and needed that second round of partal braces. But I'm not an expert. :dunno:

I was a kid that had every tooth perfectly aligned except I had a big gap between the front two. Once my wisdom teeth came in though they moved over and the gap went away. My son, though, didnt inherit the same. As soon as his permanent teeth came in the dentist told me he would need braces and boy did he ever. Crooked, sideways teeth, just a mess. He had to have permanent teeth pulled and braces on around 11.

It looks like a sign of conquest to me! :lol2:

My big concern over DS’s birthday with MIL is turning out fine without me saying anything. I did forget that she sent something last year; it just arrived late. SIL text me today about suggestions and she often orders stuff online for MIL. If we lived close and were inviting grandparents for cake it probably never would have been lost in the grief cycle.

I'm glad that he enjoys brushing, but have a bit of care, there. I was one of those kids, and brushed so much that I actually damaged the enamel on my teeth. Baby teeth, thankfully, but it can happen. Try to gently wean him back to "after meals and sugary snacks (remember that starches are sugars, as well).

what did i do to deserve being sick like this ?
Not a thing, Darlin. Not a thing. It comes under the heading of "stuff happens." But I HATE that you're feeling ill.

I asked the dentist if he could be damaging his teeth. He said there were no signs of damage. It could happen if he brushed too hard or used a brush with firmer bristles, but I get him toddler tooth brushes. I do try to discourage him from brushing 82 times a day, but I don't have it in me to fight that battle every time.
