Ready for some smiles? Remember when I was cat sitting Pawpurr and she took her toy mouse to share her supper? It must be proper kitty etiquette. Last night I saw that Wanda Heart had taken her tiny unicorn toy to share her supper.

Cats are so kind.

This morning I discovered that Unicorn was still eating. They must be like some cats, grazers.

If you keep letting that Unicorn graze, it’s going to be THIS big! Maybe you can shrink it in the dryer?

tabbytom tabbytom That is so funny but I will not show Banjo. She would be very vocal about Frog abuse. Lol It looks like that cat doesn’t give a flying frog about royalty.

@BellaGooch Smokey has always done that little derpy face and always made me laugh. She is the snuggliest of kitties. I can never resist. :redheartpump: I am pretty sure she knows that too.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Gray days are good if they are Smokey cat days! She is the Floof lining to every cloud.
That black cat is gorgeous but I think he must have a home. He looks very glossy and healthy. He comes for visits but I have seen him at two other houses so I think he makes the rounds. IDK but I will be watching out for that kitty.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Todd really has had his hands full. I’m glad the kitties are trusting him. The T-shirts made me think of him with that silhouette. I hope the latest kitty is okay.
His shirt design made me think of him too :catrub:

Froggies NEED protection worldwide. Very glad Banjo is a founding memPURR of this entity. And very glad BCDK has glossy fur and several restaurants from which to choose! Special SNORGLES for Smokey! :hearthrob: :lovecat::hearthrob:

tabbytom tabbytom Thank you for the opurrtunity to post the latest of Banjo’s purrsuits! She is very community minded.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 I wonder who did the design for the shirt?
That kitty was not shot? Thank goodness!

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Oh yes! Banjo is a mempurr! Lol Protecting all good creatures has become her goal. Froggies especially! We need all Froggies! I don’t know if people realize how important they are to the ecosystem. Like the canaries used in coal mines, they are the reflection of the health of our environment.
Black kitty eating at all the restaurants!:flail:Lately he has started dining in! Social distancing observed. He really is a beauty.
Smokey loved the snorggles. She sends a derpy / tongue face with purrs. :angelcat:

pearl99 pearl99 Banjo sends you kisses for wanting to help frogs! You are her kind of hooman! She says that you can help by feeding a frog today! Lol I guess she knows that Froggie is sitting on a cat food dish and catching flies that come to visit. Her version of feeding Froggies.;):bicolorcat:

The customer returns to dine at Chez Catbird!

Y'all...I have some good news! SCAMPER LET ME PICK HIM UP! I went out to feed last night, and there were more cats than usual, so I went back in, got another large "community" bowl (these cats don't mind eating three to a large bowl) and a small bowl for Scamper. I set the large bowls at a little distance from me, and Scamper's bowl down next to me (insures that he eats without the others bothering him). He went to the community bowl. Without even thinking, I slipped both hands under him, lifted him about 6" off the ground, and shifted him the four feet to his bowl. He just hung there, very calmly! I set him down, and he dove into his dinner. WE PROGRESS!!!

I can just picture it, him just hanging there in the moment! Lol

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Connecting with that level of trust and pure love is the best thing in a human life. I know what you mean about being as high as you can get. Cloud nine!:cloud9: The highest of highs. Banjo tells me that Scamper is sending you a message....Here it is, straight from the mind of a cat that has been lifted up and loved!

The catio required a few extras. It’s finished except for some weather stripping. One down but more to go!
Lol
Because the mosquitos are so bad here, I had to cover the catio in screen over the metal hardware cloth. Then it hit me that because it is also over soil, fleas might get in. Aaaarrrgh! Okay. Lol Clear plastic over the Mesh and screen! At least during flea season. That will allow for the air conditioner to be on in the cat room but still allow use of the catio so...
I tried to find polycarbonate sheets but the staff at both big box stores looked at me as though I was speaking gibberish. Maybe if I called it Lexan? Anyway, for winter I hope to use the polycarbonate to better insulate but allow for a nice view.

The exit from the house has a nice shelf and a place that is private for napping. The bottom floor has an exit to the outside which I will be keeping open in case Thrasher finds it.&

Because we are having a huge number of insects, in particular, caterpillar infestations, I will have some repellant plants a short distance away. Nothing toxic if the cats catch the scent.

I’ll need a little weather stripping against a small portion of the wall to seal everything well. The overhang of the roof is wide and will add a lot of protection from and falling branches. The catio roof is solid and has regular asphalt shingle covering.

Once I get Thrasher back, I’ll lock the exterior door so that no one can access the kitties.
The catio is kitty approved. I have lots of catnip sprouting in hanging baskets to put inside so the catio should smell like a real cat play room. I may still make some changes to the next one but this works for now. After adding the weather stripping it will be attached to the house once and for all with metal brackets. I think Lady gives this a paw’s up and a smile!

Wow! That's lots of hard work put in!

As for the just in case of fleas and other like ants, poisonous spiders, bugs and such, could you get Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE) and NOT Filter Grade and sprinkle all over the hard to reach areas that is between the walls of the house and catio and around it and some on the inside edge of the catio. This will prevent all bugs and such from going inside and will keep the cats safe. It is safe for cats and hoomans but please read this first :-

Nice job on the catio. One warning- stand by for sticker shock on Lexan sheets. I bought some plain, generic acrylic sheets for a project not long ago. At first I thought it was a misprint, but nope; when I checked with a scanner it was over $30 for a 2x4 foot sheet. Ouch!

Really great job on the catio !!!! Fingers crossed Thrasher decides to check it out soon, and then continues inside to where her family awaits her return.

That catio is awesome, but mam, I could never live where you do - too many creepy crawlies for me!
Usually Jcatbird Jcatbird 's photos show the beauty of her area, but on occasion, she shows us that even paradise has the odd (creepy crawler) drawback.

Lucky Lady! That's an amazing catio you built. Hoping and praying it not only gets its intended visitor very soon, but also, that it gets a lot of happy use in the future!
Beautiful song. My best friend in high school loved them. Before a hit-and-run driver took her life at age 19, they were her favorites, as they spoke to her happiness at finding joy with her first boyfriend. I always think of her when I hear them.
