Three out of the four in my family got their first doses of the Moderna vaccine. Husband got his last week, I got mine Monday, and oldest got his today. Youngest hasn't gotten any yet. Oldest and I got ours through our work and husband got his through his primary care doctor's office. We had been pre-registered with the Health Department months ago but never heard anything so we took the opportunity when it presented itself elsewhere. I pre-registered youngest once MD lowered the age limit to 16 but Lord knows when he'll get notified of an appointment.

All I've had since dose 1 is a sore arm. It was a bit hard to sleep last night, but it's getting easier to lift my arm so it's on the mend.

My husband went to the event where they'd planned the J&J and they gave him Moderna, too, so we're both in the ModSquad/team Dolly.

I had the Moderna, too, and the seventh day after the second dose, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was sick, sick, like I felt when I had pneumonia and a slight headache that danced around my brain. I slept all day and the next night, only getting up to eat and feed the cats. I'm guessing that it was similar to a very light case of COVID.

This is the same as the virus itself, some people with no symptoms all the way to flu like symptoms. All I had was a sore arm with both. Some people don't even have the sore arm. When they did the trials people who had no symptoms had the same antibody levels as people who got sick after the vaccine. This virus is so new to humans that reactions run the full spectrum.

Hmm, when was the J&J vaccine paused? The state vaccine totals are still going up. Only around 100 yesterday but still. I wonder if they're still using it for some people or if the numbers are being residually reported.

From my understanding; they are substituting Modern or Pfizer for the J&J... They have enough of these.. and are expecting more production from Moderna and Pfizer.

So our government is set to announce even stricter lockdown measures today. I did a big grocery shop this afternoon including getting some items from 2 other stores that are only allowed to offer curbside. I called ahead to place my order and to ask how pickups work. Many stores say to call them when you arrive, and park in their designated curbside pickup parking spots. Well....I don't have a cell phone...so I was concerned how I could get my things. Thankfully, the 2 stores I went to had doorbells installed for pickups rather than doing the "phone when you get there" option. So I guess they will be my go to stores from here on out when I need something. The 2 stores were Pet Valu and Home Hardware....so between a pet store, hardware store and grocery store...I'm set for whatever I need moving forward without having to use a cell phone.

Well the added new measures are in!
The current stay at home order was extended for an additional 2 weeks, and non-essential retail stays closed (they can continue with curbside)...OK whatever.
Big Box stores can now only operate at 25% capacity....again, whatever...with warmer weather It's not such a huge deal to wait outside.
They are introducing inter provincial border checkpoints and will be turning away non-essential travel......FINALLY!
They are authorizing police and by-law to stop and question why someone is out and about, and fine them if appropriate....I don't care about this one because I follow the rules ;)
Outdoor gatherings are restricted to only members of the same household (someone who lives alone can join with one household), and public gathering places are now closed (golf, parks, etc...)..hubby will be a little peeved that he can't play golf.
Non-essential construction projects must shut down.

So yeah....not as bad as I thought it would be.

No but it still sucks. I hope this will work and the virus will get under control for you all soon

It's more sucky for way more people than me, so I can't really complain. But I do hope this works too, as much as things aren't horrible, they do suck. My husbands business is slow because he services many other businesses...that are slow and aren't spending as much. And I know some of my family members are taking isolation a lot harder than me. I cope well in isolation...I kinda like it (introvert here!)...but I also still work out of the home (essential health care), so I do get to socialize with others.
Canada's way behind in vaccination procurement.....but hopefully we'll get more and more in the coming weeks so we may get a decent summer!

Everything done for the Corona Virus has helped immensely with flu this year. The last figures I saw were from February 25 and 1585 positive tests done, the year before at that time there were more then 183,000 positive samples. Part of it is that vaccination rate for flu was much higher, some areas actually ran out of vaccine early. Many schools on virtual learning was another factor. Children are big spreaders of the flu. That is one thing done that can't continue though. Children don't seem to spread Corona virus as much as adults do.

I got my second Moderna shot this morning and am already feeling crummy. I just had a sore arm with the first one, but I’ve got aches all over now, similar to when I get my flu shot. Hopefully this is the extent of it but I’m not sure that tomorrow won’t be worse.

I had my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine 4 weeks ago and after 3 days just a little sore on the jab site.

Got my 2nd shot last evening and after 6 hours, the jab site is sore and blue black (just a a small area). Arm lifting side ways a little painful. Waiting for the big crush to kick in if it’s kicking in 😂

Just keep moving your arm and massaging the jab site gently and drink lots of water.

debbila debbila and Lari Lari How are you feeling?

Cases going up and 4 more deaths since last week. I wish our COVID rules were stricter
Good! My arm's pretty much better. Now to wait for dose 2.

I wonder how long after the first shot you start making some antibodies.

I got the second shot today ( Friday ) and my arm was sore most of the day. I was nauseated. until later in the evening. Hopefully the next few days I won't have any symptoms or at least no worse than today.

How are you feeling KittyFriday KittyFriday and Lari Lari ?
