I have a 1yr old male cat name Fudgey
Ive been feeding him 3 oz wet in morning..3oz wet in mid afternoon and very small amount of dry in evening..VERY small amount
And in the past few days he's not wanting his wet at all
He did slack up on his little dry at night also
Really acting like he wasn't himself

So got appt with vet today
Well during this time...he got to where he would start eating dry again but no wet
Dont want to feed him just dry
No and I wont do it
I personally feel feeding cat just dry isnt good at all
Just my opinion
Any ideas on what might have cause this
Btw..I was feeding him the natural balance platefulls 3oz pk
Help need ideas
Tia

It could be that he is just fed up of that food, try a variety. Also, add a teaspoon or less of dry to the wet and mix it in.

I hope Fudgey is healthy and fine
If it's not health related, he might dislike the current wet food. maybe the formula is different, or some cans were stored not as well as others, or maybe he got bored and wants a change. We alternate minish's foods often, she sometimes makes protests in hopes of being offered something better.
When minish refuses to eat something, I persist for a day. put the food back in the fridge, a couple of hours later I offer it again when she asks for food. If that doesn't work, then I change it.

If he eats little wet mixed with dry today
Cause I can get some different
Then should I wait on the vet
He's using litter box better last night n this morning than last couple days
He would pp but not really poop
I gave him some hairball stuff for cats
What you think??

Hi. Could be something wrong with the food in those cans. You can try to buy some more, just make sure they don't have the same Lot Number as the cans he stopped eating - as a precautionary step. You could also compare the ingredients from one of the cans he won't eat to a newly bought can and see if they have changed something.

Fancy Feast is a reasonably good food and they have ones that are not pate. You could also add water to his dry to see if he would eat it that way. At least you'd be getting food down him in a larger quantity for now.

If his eating has been a lot less, he might not need to poop very much, if at all. If you get him eating again, that should change unless it is tied to something else.

If he doesn't improve with a different food and start to poop again, then it is definitely time for a vet visit.

I live in Turkey here we get brands shipped from Italy and Germany. If you are in Europe, animonda carny and some of gimpet (or gimcat) flavors have a good real meat ratio and that's in small pieces like shredded. If the ingredients are similar to what you already use, you may try a few different brands and flavors in small cans and see from there.
