or women less spent on makeup and hair salons, people can start work in their pajamas if they want.
I'll still wear make-up and have my hair done. Just can't give that up. Nicole just gave me a bag of good products
and pretty lipsticks from Bare Minerals. They feel like you're applying butter to your lips

It will be interesting to see how things play out with the anti-vax crowd. It seems like for those who are vaccinated, the protection is pretty good, so as soon as everyone gets vaccinated who will, the people getting sick will be those who either cannot get vaccinated for some reason or those who choose not to. I'd say tones would change once anti-vaxers end up in the hospital for something they could have essentially prevented, but then, hundreds of thousands have died in ways that could have been largely prevented and that crowd still doesn't seem to care.

I have a friend who can't get the "P" part of the TDAP vaccine and is therefore convinced she would get a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine. So she's not getting it (also much of her family isn't, but not for the same reason). She says there is a new vaccine in development that she's pretty sure she can take so might take that one, but I don't know. She lives in another state; my friends who live here in town are all getting vaccines, which is great, I'd love to be able to see them again.

I get shot #2 of Moderna on Friday! :yess:

I wouldn't mind the anti-vaxxers as much and say they can mess themselves up, but with children unable to get the vaccines yet, it worries me. More kids are catching the new variants.

It's the same with other vaccines. Pertussis can be deadly in babies, and they can't start getting dtap until 2 months. I think mmr is at a year. We're supposed to protect those who can't be vaccinated yet or at all, but so many people don't think of the larger societal implications.

The people who can't be vaccinated for medical reasons are a small percentage of the population. In the past that small segment would have good protection by virtue of such a high percentage of the population being vaccinated, herd immunity. That isn't true anymore because of the anti-vaxxers. That is now why we have isolated outbreaks of measles, we went years without hearing about measles in the U.S. The people who can't be vaccinated are being victimized by this large group of people who won't get vaccinated for a myriad of wacky reasons.

Mia6 Mia6 (((hugs))) take it easy.. be good to yourself. It takes a while to get over it.. means your immune system is working in fine order!

UGH.. I am getting so angry.. Even though 95% of the residents in the building have been vaccinated.. the Building is now open to visitors... Residents are being so lax with masks.. so lax...
and the numbers are rising in my state.. The UK variation is the prominent variation...

There are so many residents not wearing masks, or are pulling them down when they ate talking to people.. I went down to the lobby 3 times yesterday. Each time, there was a guy sitting there, with the mask below his nose.. Finally, I asked him to it up.. he ignored me.. I repeated myself 3 times.. He got a phone call and walked a way.. with mask down.. UGH... We have another woman who just flat out refuses to wear the mask... some people are taking ti off in the elevator!! OMG>.
I will not use that elevator with them..

It is unbelievable.. people do not care anymore.. Is it Covid Fatigue?? or just stupidity???

Moderna #1 is done! Leaving J was the hardest part because she cried. Other than that, just a sore arm.

I'm very disappointed that J's got me on this dairy free diet that may or may not be helping so I can't pick up my free Krispy Kreme, though.

Yes.

Both are possible. Some people treat mask wearing (or not) as a political statement — that's stupidity. COVID fatigue is also a very real phenomenon, however; we're all suffering from some of that. And mask wearing is undeniably uncomfortable.

Also, his reaction to your request was incredibly rude.

I get my second Moderna vaccine on Friday. I'm fortunate and grateful that the vaccines are being given at my retirement community. Getting an appointment and waiting for hours when you do go for it is hard. Visitors are allowed here too, even though only about 50% of the residents are vaccinated and some people don't want to get it. Visitors can only be in the resident's apartment that they are visiting and can't use the elevators with anyone but that person. When I'm fully protected two weeks after the last vaccine there is one friend I can visit in her home or go out with. That will be a small step back to what is normal. Being in a 55+ community for this past year, I've only been to doctor's appointment and to file taxes. That's fine with me, I've kept safe that way.

I went to a pharmacy so I didn't have a long wait, it was just several days of trying to get appointments online. There is more supply now and the process of getting appointments has been streamlined a bit. They had to do something about that. I work from home so it wasn't a problem for me to check several different places on the internet several times a day to catch appointments when they first opened up. For me it was just a frustration but not everyone is able to do what I did.
