I don’t know about hunting guys by scent. Can’t say that I have experience with that method. Maybe BJ could better advise on that. You could have him help!
Ummm...I was talking about them hunting me by scent.

I think that common sense tells me that I should wear something pretty, green and with a bit of sparkle.
I like your reasoning Banjo! That makes complete common sense. Pretty & sparkly. ✨

How do you dress to impress? Especially if you want to impress your Frog Prince.
Put on something that makes you strut. 🚶‍♀️

Is it fancy enough?
You can never be too fancy, right Banjo? Fancy is very important to fancy girls like us. 👑

It took a year to find one of these cats.
Which cat? Do tell...🤔

Guys, Belle has taken a turn for the worse. She's refusing to eat again, down to about 3lbs, and is basically just going from lap to lap. My aunts were my grandma's caretakers and it's almost been a year since she passed, so this is already a hard time of year for them. I think they know she's telling them it's time, but they're struggling, so any good thoughts I'm sure would be appreciated.

She has stage 4 kidney disease. I can pass along the link to my aunts.
I hope she gets well or at least the health issues are elevated so she feels more comfy.

Was trying to link an article from our own article page but the link is not working so here's another one from an external link :- index.htm

N NY cat man I am completely puzzled. Now the same sound is coming in on other cameras. They are not wireless. The greenhouse is steel frame. I did wonder about the armadillos but no sign of the digging. However!!!!! I decided to cut into the greenhouse cover to make sure no creature was trapped and I found a nest of carpenter ants! Yikes! I spent part of my day exposing them and attempting to eradicate the nest. I have read that they can actually be heard crunching wood! I have wood cross beams and end frames in the greenhouse. I’ll be watching for any more nests elsewhere but I think you may be on to something with the antennae idea. I may remove those cameras to see if the noise stops on the other cameras. I have been using these cameras Inside awhile and the noise is new so... could be the answer! Thank you. This has been driving me to distraction!

alphakitty alphakitty Bravo to you! That is awesome that you have helped so many. I ended up getting the majority of the 100 plus colony adopted out. A few since then too but those were probably dumped kitties. You are right! Ferals can be socialized. My most fierce of the colony now live a comfy life inside. The oldest Tom has been amazing. He was the very last colony member to come in. He had heart worms and FIV but he is much better now. He started out pretty intimidating but maybe this will make you smile. The “experts” who say ferals cannot be socialized have not met BJ. ;) It’s so great to meet you! Thank you for all you have done. You saved lives! I hope you will join us here as we continue to talk about ferals, rescues and all things kitties. As well as a few other topics that come up. The kitties that remain with me have lots of stories to tell. Their purrsonalities lead me to post some “interpretations” of their expressions. Hopefully, it’s a little smile each day for all kitty lovers. I hope you will speak up with any ideas or suggestions here too.
Here’s BJ.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Thrasher socialized to me and one friend but she is not one of the “adoptable” ferals in that she is very unlikely to seek other humans. Her abuse by humans before I got here was quite severe. Maybe she has learned now though. I would hope that she would go to another human. A trustworthy one. I will never, never give up. My heart would never let me. I have knocked on every door around here that is safe to knock on but I’ll keep reminders going. I have offered a reward too. Incentive to help the humans remember her face. I still have ideas to try. I already planted catnip seeds but I have some catnip plants to put in the ground too. A green road to follow home. The scent should carry a pretty long way. Hoping.

tabbytom tabbytom :) A public announcement is a great way to get the word out. We need our own radio station. WCAT to announce important things that cats need to hear! I hope that Thrasher picks up the message. Or, When I plant the catnip path, maybe she’ll pick up the scent and follow it home. Any way she can come will be great. Thank you!
That midweek Pawverb is so true! If only Hoomans were as honest and open as cats! We can learn a lot from kitties!

Lari Lari Please let your Aunts know that everyone here has them all in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. I think of them a lot as I am working with Smokey and hunting for Thrasher. I am so sorry that Belle is not doing better. My heart aches for them. Sending all the healing hopes and purrs we can as well as support during this time. :grouphug2:

I think of her every minute of the day, just hoping that she is safe but most of all, she'll come home.

M maggiedemi Well, I don’t have experience hunting any human by scent. Lol BJ can definitely help you out though. I have a feeling he can teach any guy how to find a lady. Lol

I’m pretty sure that Banjo felt pretty fancy and I know she can strut! Lol If any cat can strut to her Prince, it would be Banjo. Not every cat can make a frog fall in love with them but she managed. Lol

The kitty that was lost for a year was Kelly. When she and sister Callie were young, we had a hurricane come near. The flood caused Kelly to get trapped under the Gingerbread house in rising water. When I realized she was under there, I started trying to dig a ditch to drain the water from under the shed. It worked and out popped a half drowned and cold kitten. I tried to grab her but she took off in the pouring rain and vanished. I was afraid that she had gotten pneumonia or something else happened as that storm continued. I never did give up looking though. A year later I saw movement near the Gingerbread house. Something under it again? Yep! Three little kittens who had not lost their mittens. Their mom had delivered them there. Mom turned out to be my long lost Kelly. I immediately urged them out from under the building and into the shed instead. A bit later, Kelly and the kittens did a vanishing act for a couple of weeks but the story had a happy ending. All were caught, socialized and adopted. Kelly was adopted with her daughter, Bright. Bright is my avatar photo here. Remember how Bright guarded the door of their little gingerbread house? Our Bright little kitten guardian. All so precious. Kelly and Thrasher have the same mom. Jazzy. Also adopted out. There was a third Calico sister to Callie and Kelly. Phoenix. She was also adopted out.

tabbytom tabbytom That’s so kind. I think of her every minute too. I am even dreaming about her. She made it through so much before I got her, she must be out there. I just know she is out there. She is doing what she remembers to do to stay safe. I am trying to think of anything I can to help lead her back. She never did go into a trap. She was way too smart. She trusted me in her own time and as soon as I see her, I hope she will remember that too. I think she is wary and taking time to make sure that her path back is safe. If I can let her see her Clowder through a catio, that may help too. Working towards that and other anything else I can come up with.

I had expected the catio kit to be delivered today. Unfortunately I found out that the person who told me the shipping time should not have quoted that. It may be another eight days! ( can I count on that?) What can we do on a very stormy day?

Lari Lari heartfelt *PRAYERS* for sweet little Belle. Our beloved angel Moti got 7 months of in-home sub-Q and good quality time with us after her diagnosis, so I know how it can be. Much love for her and her family.
Jcatbird Jcatbird maybe Chez Catbird's motto should be, "Got Stripes?" :dizzycat::climbcat::runningcat:
What a mystery the greenhouse noise is!
You're absolutely amazing. Building your own catio?!! And the prefab one can be useful as well. You can never have too many places for cats to relax and enjoy life, can you? :winkcat:
Kelly knew what to do and where to go when she was in need of safe haven. Thrasher certainly does, too. *C'MON, THRASHER!!!*:hearthrob::runningcat::hearthrob::clover:

Sorry to interrupt, but can anyone please tell me if Hissy is a boy or a girl? Here she/he is in a good mood today, playing with its littermate:

My aunts talked to their vet who suggested syringing food every hour or two, which she's been keeping down, and they can take Belle in next week to talk other medication options. Thanks for all the good thoughts so far - they may be helping.
