I had green cabbage left over from St. Paddy’s Day cooking so I made German cabbage muffins. They’re very good, and you can’t really taste the cabbage, like putting zucchini in chocolate cake.
Even though I love zucchini muffins, I would never have thought of making cabbage muffins. I did make cucumber muffins once, when I had a ton of cucumbers, and they were absolutely awful.

Bread pudding. Dessert today. When we go to a restaurant and Rick orders bread pudding, he's always disappointed. Those puddings are never custardy. With mine, as the bread pieces rise to the surface while baking, a custard is formed below the bread. Rick loves custard. He says that I've spoiled him for anybody else's bread pudding forever. He just loves this stuff! (Even though we drink skim milk, when I bake bread pudding and custards, I always use whole milk. Otherwise, it will get a bit runny.)

Dear Richard reminded me that I haven't baked cookies in a while. So I threw together some snicks and some oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies. I was supposed to include chopped pecans. but don't have any. They're good anyway.
Snickerdoodles and oatmeal chocolate chip are my two favorites (especially without nuts :) )! There's something about the smell of a warm snickerdoodle that I find incredibly comforting.
