How would you describe Contessa, particularly her coloring?

I posted about Juliet so now I'd love to hear what you all think of Contessa. The shelter said she's a ragdoll but I don't think she is. She's just a big framed long hair girl (she's 11.5 pounds and she is very strong lol).

Her coloring is so interesting, I don't know how to best describe it. It's grey, cream and tan but the colors seem to change depending on the lighting, sometimes she looks more grey and other times she looks more cream colored. Is that called something in particular?

These photos are in normal indoor lighting:

She has one leg that is almost entirely a different color and one foot (above) has some cream/white/tan on it, the rest are all grey.

Her tail is not that thick (considering how thick her fur is) and has a dark stripe going down the middle:

These photos are in indoors but with natural light coming in from the window:

I love how curly her whiskers are!!!

She's lovely! It's great that you included so many pictures, too -- it's helpful for us to see her color!

As for her coloring, there are lots of ways to describe her color, because it's fairly complex! In TICA, her color would be described as blue torbie point. You can also describe this color as dilute torbie point, blue (dilute) tortie lynx point, blue (dilute) tortie tabby point, blue (dilute) patched tabby point, and I am sure someone could come up with more ways, too! All these descriptions mean the same thing: she's pointed, she's dilute (blue), she's a tabby, and she's a tortie :)

Without papers, she would be described as a domestic longhair. Ragdoll cats are longhaired, and come in this color and pattern, so I understand why the shelter would have made that guess. It's possible that your cat might have some Ragdoll ancestry, but we can't know for sure from looking at her. All the genes involved in creating her color, pattern, and hair type are widespread in the domestic cat gene pool, and it's statistically most likely that she is a domestic longhair without specific breed ancestry. That doesn't make her any less special, however... domestic longhairs are great cats!

Thank you so much! The descriptors help a lot! :D

Yeah, I definitely think the shelter just said "hmm, long hair, blue eyes, pointed, yep she's a ragdoll" lol.

She's suuuuuch a sweet girl and so unique. She's very reserved and shy but she scream meows (loud, high pitched meow so I call it a scream haha) when she wants food. She's the complete opposite of Juliet (her "sister" who is unrelated but bonded to her) in pretty much every way and they're such a fun pair.

I agree, she is a torbie pointed domestic. Its why she is difficult to analyse exaclty. This is really a give away: if difficult to analyse; its often a torbie... :)

Re what look alike. Look perhaps on the Neva Masquerade...
