i have a pregnant stray in my garden, who i saw mate twice on 9/01/21, there is another boy stray about 1 years, who i got neutered two weeks ago, she i was unable to catch, as she witness me catch three other cats, all have been rehomed.

Fast forward.....

Today the pregnant female has been meowing excessively by my door, and whilst not doing so, will follow the other cat everywhere, she must be 2 plus.....
She has been feed, wet and dry food today, but i can not work out what wrong, although i did hear a scream last night, and saw a fox in my garden, she and the boy have no wounds, and she would only go for a pee, when i went to the area in the neighbours garden, where they utilize as a toilet.

Bringing her in is not an option, space not permitting.

Al ideas welcome.....

Couldnt you not have her in a cage? This way she and kittens wont take much place.

She isnt handleable, right? If so, Animals Friends society is no solution, they will just pts her.
Perhaps you have a rescue group nearby?

She wants to come inside where it is safe. Poor kitty. It’s not safe with a fox coming around. Can you rehome her?

she is extremely skittish, has anxiety issues, i have put together a chicken coup this evening, by my back door, they are using it now, i have reduced the sliding door entrance to fit a cat, gonna sort out the grill cage extension part, tomorrow, that way she will have an enclosure and protection and there would be no way in or out unless i unlock the gate.

One thing i noticed is that when i went outside to be with her, she would stop meowing, as soon as i ventured back in, she would start again.

I had a lady from the charity round, and her assessment is she is too feral to rehome, i caught four in jan, three have been rehomed, 2 girls, who were in heat and 1 boy, the other boy was deemed to feral to rehome, so he's back with me, i tried catching her in jan, but she wouldn't take the bait, she witnessed me catching three of the four.

Plan is to let her stay in the coup, get her spayed in ideally 6 weeks, and in due course her litter.

Perhaps she will grow less feral. Meowing for you indicates she may be bonding with you. Maybe she will eventually let you pet her. Does she have plenty of food? Pregnant cats are always hungry. She may be asking for food and/or attention.

I have tried catching her since the 2nd week of jan, wouldn't take the bait, i am working with a charity, they feel she is too feral to rehome, she has really bad anxiety issues, skittish and middens alot, although that has not been as bad, as in previous weeks.

The fox, this is the second one i have seen in my garden in the last 6 weeks.

she has plenty of food, i am well stocked, wet and dry food, today i was able to pet her, without her pulling away, the boy, he wants to bump heads [fist] and scent rub, every time i go in the garden and constantly says hello.

He will not let me put the plate of food down, without us exchanging scents.

Its the fox whom is the problem. If she gets kittens outside, they will be defenceless. She in great danger too.
HE will of course make his outmost to attack the family; they are the given prey.

this is what i have put together for her, just got to do the ark run, am i correct in thinking, to place a litter box in there, and only open the door to remove litter box and feeding, and also keep the neutered boy out of there for the next two months

backdrop:
stray cat - plan was to tnr after pregnancy, as agreed with charity, as she wouldn't take the bait.
cat mated 1st week of jan, looked pregnant until two days ago, probably carrying two, three at most, past two days looks alot slimmer and has been hanging round garden all day today.

Is it common for a feline to be away from kittens for 3 to 4 hours, if she delivered in the last two days.

Yes, it’s normal. Her kittens are hidden somewhere. Feed mom well.

Moms in the wild who must forage for food may be away for many hours. If she’s being fed she should not be away as long. How long is she staying away? Are you sure she’s had the kittens? Do her nipples look used?

just an update:

she killed the kittens, or gave birth and dump them, she is back in heat, witnessed one mating.
4 toms lurking plus 2 foxes last night on the porch, near the coop.

Gonna try again with trapping, need some ideas...

i have one of the large traps, that trips when cat steps on angle plate, problem

1: she saw me catch three others and would not take bait
2: orange tabby, 1 years old and her are inseperable, before heat started, need an idea to get him away so i can trap, otherwise he will take the bait, has a greedy complex.

Can anyone explain why the orange tabby urine marks the feline, usually if he hears my door handle and comes by the door for food.
Also after neutering he has began spraying and whines as i am bringing out food.

Sometimes on the way to laying the plate down, i pett him, and he tries to urine mark me.

You may need to get her with a net. Make some calls to shelters and your state wildlife association to inquire if they can help or you could borrow a net.
