Ok, so this is not my favorite question to ask, but how do cats end up ingesting human hair? I have long hair and it sheds everywhere-- always has and always will (i.e., not looking for advice to stop the shedding). But I'm still not sure how it ends up in my cat's stomach, which I know it does because I've seen in come out both ends (yeah, gross). I vacuum often but I'm not sure if that matters because I don't know how my kitty is ingesting it. Toys? Carpets? If someone has figured out an answer in a similar circumstance, I'd love to know.

Hi! Is static electricity causing your hair strands to stick to your cat? I've read about some cats who like their owners' hair brushes a bit too much...

Interesting thought, I will have to watch out for static. I don't think it's a hair brush, as she does not have access. Notwithstanding my frequent vacuuming, there is always hair on my rugs, but I have a hard time picturing her intentionally ingesting it. I should also check her toys.

I have shoulder length hair so I'm very careful about where I brush it. For that reason, I only brush my hair in the same bathroom and check the tile floor every time after brushing. If there are any stray hairs I immediately pick them up. As for loose hairs falling out you may want to try putting your hair up when you're home, e.g. ponytail, clip or barrette.

One of my cats also grooms my hair, or tries to. She sits on the back of the chair when I watch TV and goes for it. Of course, I stop her but my point is that some cats are attracted to hair.

I'm sure she is just picking it up off the ground. It gets on their fur and they lick it off. Cats have barbed tongues that point towards their throats, so once something gets on it they can't get it off and it goes down. There's not a whole lot you can do except to vacuum, maybe give her a little bit of butter in the mornings to help her pass it easier. Butter has almost 0 lactose so is safe. What's really scary is to think how much of THEIR fur we ingest!

My hat is obsessed with my hair. Not while it is on my head, but if she sees it on the floor she wants to bat it around with her paw. Eventually it gets in her mouth. I have to be vigilant about wiping up the bathroom floor. I brush my hair over the tub, and then just swipe the tub with a tissue, because yeah, she gets in there to play with it too. Otherwise I always keep it in a clip for convenience at home anyway.

aww i want one now :lol:wonder if the permits are hard to get to keep one or rehab them
Depends on where you live. Check you laws and do TONS of research.
IMO:
About 90% of pet Bob's are a royal pain in the a**
The other 10% are exactly the same
It's like a having a 2 year old toddler that had a Mt. Dew and a Snickers for breakfast, that's part hyper puppy, with that stubborn cat attitude. Extremely smart, and they know it.
